Malcolm X – Prince Of Islam

http://islamfuture.files.wordpress.com/2010/06/malcolm-x-prince-of-islam.gif?w=593

MALCOLM X- PRINCE OF ISLAM is the EXPLOSIVE and GRIPPING documentary that shows never before seen footage of al-Hajj Malik Shabazz, a truly Islamic hero.

Islam stands for change. It seeks to change the individual and the society. This change covers every aspect of human life from personal morality to business, economics and politics. It is only natural that Islam should be fought by those who want to keep the status quo. This is the way it has always been throughout history: from Adam to Nuh, Ibrahim, Musa. Isa, and Muhammad (peace be on them). It will happen to anyone who wants to stand up and proclaim the true message of Islam to the world.

In recent times we have the example of Brother Malcolm. He courageously stood firm in the midst of his enemies and was ready to sacrifice everything in the pursuit of seeking the pleasure of Allah (swt). In ‘Prince of Islam’ we learn about his childhood struggles through to him joining the heretical group ‘Nation of Islam’ to him finally accepting the true religion of Islam after performing the Hajj in Makkah. The Calamity Of The Prophet’s Death And Its Effects On The Muslim Nation

http://islamfuture.files.wordpress.com/2010/06/the-calamity-of-the-prophet-s-death-and-its-effects-on-the-muslim-nation.jpg?w=450&h=395

Shaykh Hussain Al-Awaaishah

The Prophet (salallahu alaihi wa salam) said, “If one of you is afflicted with a calamity, then let him remember  his calamity by me (i.e., by my death); for indeed, it is the greatest of calamities.”

It becomes clear to us from this hadith that the death of the Prophet is the greatest disaster that has occurred or will occur to the Muslim nation. The Messenger of Allah (salallahu alaihi wa salam) requests that when we remember our calamities or afflictions, we should remember his death and his parting as well, a reflective process through which our other  disasters will become insignificant in comparison.

Whenever we lost any of our relatives or loved-ones, we are sure to have felt the pain of parting from him and the  anxiety of the farewell. The question now is this: Have we had any such feelings or sentiments when we contemplate  the death of the Prophet (salallahu alaihi wa salam).

What would happen if a man were to lose his entire family; his heart would ache and bleed while his tears would  pour forth profusely. He marries after a period, and after many years pass, one of his sons dies. What is his  sadness and pain if compared to the first calamity; is not the new affliction less painful in degree? And with that  perspective – i.e., by remembering the death of the Prophet (salallahu alaihi wa salam) – we should console ourselves whenever we are afflicted  with a hardship. Continue reading

The Explanation Of The Sufficiency In Creed

http://islamfuture.files.wordpress.com/2010/06/the-explanation-of-the-sufficiency-in-creed.jpg?w=450&h=395

Imaam ibn Qudumah al-Maqdisee
Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 34 | Size: 1 MB

In this book, we present the classical treatise on Creed of Imaam Ibn Qudaamah Al-Maqdisee, rahimahullaah, known as Lum’at-ul-’Itiqaad, which is studied all over the Muslim world. Imaam Muhammad bin Saalih Al-’Uthaimeen,  rahimahullaah, has provided an in depth explanation for the points touched on by the author in a clear and simple  manner. Furthermore, the narrations mentioned in the book have been verified and lengthy and extensive footnotes  have been provided to make this book a valuable source of reference.

Shaikh Muhammad bin Saalih Al-’Uthaimeen said in his introduction to this book: ‘This is a brief commentary of the  book ‘Lum’at-ul-‘Itiqaad”, written by Abu Muhammad ‘Abdullaah bin Ahmad Ibn Qudaamah Al-Maqdisee (rahimahullaah),  who was born in Sha’baan in 541H in a village from the districts of Nablis (present-day Palestine) and who died on  the day of ‘Eed-ul-Fitr in 620H.

In this book, the author (rahimahullaah) gathered together the main points of the Islaamic Creed (‘Aqeedah). For  this reason, the Board of the Educational Institutes assigned this book to be studied and taught during the second  semester of the first year of study, so that it may serve as a pillar upon which one can establish his Creed at  this stage.

Because I saw the importance of this book in terms of the topics it touches upon, its methodology and the lack of  there being any explanation for it, I became determined, while seeking assistance from Allaah and hoping that He  grant me correctness in intention and action, to put forth some words on it, in the attempt to clarify its  ambiguous parts, explain its meanings and bring to light its main points.’

No doubt this book is of great importance for the Muslim with regard to establishing the correct Creed. This book  is deserving of being taught and studied so that it may serve as a foundation for both the students of knowledge  and the common Muslims. The topics touched upon by the author relate to the authentic Creed and Methodology, which  all Muslims are obligated ot have knowledge of. Consequently, we encourage everyone to purchase a copy of this  magnificent book. Continue reading

Ruling On The Celebration Of Al-Mawlid – (The Prophet’s [PBUH] Birthday)

http://islamfuture.files.wordpress.com/2010/06/ruling-on-the-celebration-of-al-mawlid.jpg?w=450&h=395

Shaykh Muhammad Salih Al-Munajjid
Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 13 | Size: 1 MB

Many people have asked about the ruling concerning celebrating the birthday of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), standing up for him, sending salaam (greetings) upon him and reading soorahs from the Qur’aan during such celebrations, holding gatherings of dhikr, doing various things to show their joy, reciting qaseedahs and poems, and other things that are done to commemorate “Mawlid” which many people celebrate on the 12th day of Rabee’ al-Awwal each Hijri year.

The answer is that it is not permitted to celebrate the birthday of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), or the birthday of any other person, because this is a matter that has been innovated in the religion. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) did not do this, neither did his successors, the Rightly-Guided Khaleefahs (al-khulafaa’ al-raashidoon), or others among his Companions (may Allaah be pleased with them), or those who followed them exactly (in faith) during the best centuries – these are the people who had the best knowledge of the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), who loved him the most and followed the sharee’ah most perfectly, better than any who came after them. It is proven that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever innovates something in this matter of ours (i.e., Islam), will have it rejected” i.e., it will be thrown back at him. In another hadeeth, he said: “I advise you to adhere to my sunnah and the way of the rightlyguided successors (al-khulafaa’ al-raashidoon) who will come after me, and to cling stubbornly to it. Beware of newly-invented things (in religion), for every newly-invented thing is an innovation and every innovation is a going astray.” These two ahaadeeth contain a very stern warning against coming up with innovations (bid’ah) and acting on them. Allaah says in His clear Book (interpretation of the meaning):

“… And whatsoever the Messenger gives you, take it, and whatsoever he forbids you, abstain from it…” [al-Hashr 59:7]

“… And let those who oppose the Messenger’s commandment beware, lest some fitnah (disbelief, trials, afflictions, etc.) befall them, or a painful torment be inflicted on them.” [al-Noor 24:63]

“Indeed in the Messenger of Allaah you have a good example to follow for him who hopes in (the Meeting with) Allaah and the Last Day and remembers Allaah much.” [al-Ahzaab 33:21]

“And the first to embrace Islam of the muhaajiroon (those who migrated to Madeenah from Makkah) and the Ansaar (the citizens of Madeenah who helped and gave aid to the muhaajiroon), and also those who followed them exactly (in Faith). Allaah is well-pleased with them as they are wellpleased with Him. He has prepared for them Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise), to dwell therein forever. That is the supreme success.” [al-Tawbah 9:100]

“… This day, I have perfected your religion for you, completed My favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion…” [al-Maa’idah 5:3] Continue reading

Amongst us, human beings, none is completely devoid of the innate feeling – even from time to time – that there is a Creating God behind this universe. Such a feeling may be frustrating and people may be prevented from responding to it by the teachings they get as a result of their belonging to a particular environment, their indulgence in earthly life and cheap pleasure naturally, the Almighty Creator should differ from us in all respects:

لَيۡسَ كَمِثۡلِهِۦ شَىۡءٌ۬‌ۖ

“And unto Him the like is not”(Ash-Shûrâ : 11)

Most people could not be easily induced by this sincere feeling of the existence of the Creator to follow the right path leading to Him. Thus, Allâh [God’s name in Islâm] sent Prophets and Messengers – Allâh’s prayer and peace be upon them – with Divine support in the form of miracles suitable to their environment, until the advent of the last of His Messengers,Prophet Muhammad, who emerged after the maturity of the human thinking when the age of science was immanent; Allâh supported him with the Qur’ân to be an Eternal Miracle. This explosive new documentary investigates the current crusade being fought against Muslims in Iraq and Palestine. The Road To Guantanamo

http://islamfuture.files.wordpress.com/2010/06/the-road-to-guantanamo.gif?w=593

The Road To Guantanamo is the story of four friends who set off from the Midlands in September 2001 for an innocent wedding and holiday in Pakistan. Two and a half years later, only three of them returned home.

Through their epic journey we hear the story of their misunderstandings, ignorance, confusions and friendships as step by step they go from the safety of their small-town teenage existence to the heart of the “war on terror”. Through a series of interviews, dramatised scenes and archive news footage, the film shows how the Tipton Three ended up in Afghanistan hiding with Taliban fighters under fire from US Fighter planes. The boys are eventually rounded up by American forces, only to be kept in horrific conditions at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba for over two years Continue reading

Islam – Empire Of Faith

http://islamfuture.files.wordpress.com/2010/06/islam-empire-of-faith.jpg?w=593

PBS VHS Gold

Between the fall of Rome and the European voyages of discovery, few events were more significant than the rise of Islam. Within a few centuries, the Islamic empires blossomed, projecting their power from Africa to the east Indies, and from Spain to India. Inspired by the words of the Prophet Muhammed, and led by caliphs and sultans, this political and religious expansion remains unequaled in speed, geographic size and endurance. Islam: Empire Of Faith is narrated my Academy Award – winning actor Ben Kingsley. The three-hour program tells the spectacular story of the great sweep of Islamic power and faith during its first 1,000 years – from the birth of the Prophet Muhammed to the peak of the Ottoman Empire under the reign of Suleiman the Magnificent. Historical re-enactments and a remarkable exposition of Islamic art, artifacts and architecture are combined with interviews of scholars from around the world to recount the rise and importance of early Islamic civilization. Increasingly, scholars and historians are recognizing the profound impact that Islamic civilization has had on Western culture and the course of world history. Continue reading

Independent human rights organisations have concluded that this riot was pre-planned with the support of the State of Gujarat Government, RSS, Shiv Senna. Also featuring on this video is a preview of the some the anti Islamic movies that Bollywood is churning out.

Essential for all to watch especially those who originate from the Indo-Pak region as many Muslims from this region seem to be oblivious to the anti-Islamic messages that India propogates through Bollywood. Continue reading

[Luma’tul Itiqadh] The Illuminating Creed

Ibn Qudaamah-al-Hanbali
Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 27 | Size: 1.5 MB

All praise is due to Allah, the One praised in every tongue [i.e. language], the One worshipped in every era. There is not a place that is free of His knowledge nor does one affair preoccupy Him over another. He is far beyond any equals and rivals, as well as being free of any wife or children. His Decree is carried out in all of His servants. No intellect can derive an example of His with its pondering and thought, nor can any heart attempt of depict Him. And He says in His Book:

لَهُ ۥ مَقَالِيدُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٲتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ‌ۖ يَبۡسُطُ ٱلرِّزۡقَ لِمَن يَشَآءُ وَيَقۡدِرُ‌ۚ إِنَّهُ ۥ بِكُلِّ شَىۡءٍ عَلِيمٌ۬

‘Nothing is like Him. And He is the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing.’ [Ash-Shura 42:12]

To Him belong the best of names and the most honourable of attributes, and He says in His Book:

‘The Rahman [Allah, the All-Mercifu] has positioned Himself on the Throne. To Him belongs all that is in the heavens, all that is in the earth and whatever lies between them and whatever lies beneath the soil. If you pronounce the word aloud, then [it makes no difference, for] He certainly knows the secret and what is even more hidden. [Such is] Allah. There is no god but He. For Him are the Beautiful Names’ [Ta Ha 20:5-6-7-8]

His knowledge encompasses everything. He subjugates all creatures by His Honour and Rule. And His knowledge and mercy envelope everything. And He says in His Book:

يَعۡلَمُ مَا بَيۡنَ أَيۡدِيہِمۡ وَمَا خَلۡفَهُمۡ وَلَا يُحِيطُونَ بِهِۦ عِلۡمً۬ا

‘He knows what is in front of them and what is behind them, and they do not encompass Him in [their] knowledge.’ [Ta Ha 20:110]

He is described by what He has attributed to Himself, in His Magnificent Book, and upon the tongue of His honourable Messenger. Continue reading

Islamic Facts: Refuting Allegations Against Islam

Ever since its advent, Islam has been engaged in a continuous struggle against the repeated endeavours to obliterate the truth for which it stands. This struggle will continue until the world comes to an end, since the struggle between truth and falsehood and between virtue and sin is eternal and began with the creation of man and will continue as long as mankind inhabits the earth.

Islam is the final and conclusive Divine Faith revealed by God Almighty, and accordingly the last link or Divine communication from the heavens to the earth. As such Islam has been subjected to more false accusations than the previous religions since it came: ” in truth confirming the scripture that came before it, and guarding it in safety”.(5/48) The allegations against Islam, since its advent and until the present day, have been repeatedly circulated, the only difference being the wording and the attempt to present them in a semblance of scientific diction. The scholars of Islam answered these allegations each according to his own thought and we do not belittle the efforts of those scholars.

The aim of this book is to present conclusive and verified proof regarding the most important allegations against Islam that have been raised and repeated in recent years especially in the age of the Internet. Accordingly, God Willing, in the very near future, these authentic proofs will be transmitted on the Internet, and thus we offer our modest contribution in dispelling all points of misunderstanding and misrepresentation regarding the Faith of Islam, its teachings, and its Prophet. [Muharramat] Forbidden Matters Taken Lightly

Some Muslims who are either ignorant or of weak faith still commit many acts which Allah never allowed. Ignorance is not an excuse for doing Muharramat, hence is the importance of such books which deal in detail with many Muharramat that should be consciously learnt and consequently never committed.

The author. Sheikh al-Munajjid. has dealt with matters such as calling for help from sheikhs, saints and things other than Allah; worshipping the dead and circumambulating their graves; invoking prophets, using magic and fortune-telling and believing in astrologists and planets, etc.

As such, this book of prohibitions in beliefs and worship acts is a must to almost every Muslim, if he/she is really practicing Islam and wants to be safe and free of great sins. Continue reading

Concerning The Ruling On Celebrating The Gregorian Year 2000

Praise be to Allaah Alone and blessings and peace be upon the one after whom there is no Prophet. The Standing  Committee on Academic Research and Issuing Fatwaas has reviewed the many questions and requests for fatwaas  submitted to His Excellence the Grand Mufti and forwarded to the Standing Committee from the general trust of the  Council of Senior ‘Ulamaa’ (no. 3825, dated 21/7/1420 AH). People have asked questions concerning the rulings on  paying attention to and celebrating the European (Gregorian) millenium, and others matters pertaining to this  event. It is sufficient for us to quote just two of the questions asked: In the first question, it is asked:  “Nowadays we are seeing media reports about the events and preparations leading to the Year 2000 CE and the  beginning of the third millenium. The kuffaar, Jews, Christians and others, are excited about this and are pinning  great hopes on this event. My question, O respected Shaykh, is this: some so-called Muslims are also showing  interest in this event and regard it as an auspicious time for getting married or doing certain things. Some of  them are advertising this event in their stores and companies etc., in ways that are offensive to Muslims. What is  the shar’i ruling on respecting this occasion, showing an interest in it, exchanging greeting on this occasion –  whether verbally or by sending cards – etc.? May Allaah reward you with much good on behalf of Islam and the  Muslims.” Continue reading

Causes Behind The Increase And Decrease Of Eemaan (Faith)

The lofty rank and high station eemaan possesses is not something obscure, as it in unquestionably, the most important duty as well as being the most imperative of all obgligations. It is also the greatest and most glorious of them. All the good in the world and the Hereafter is dependant upon the presence of eemaan and on its soundness and integrety. It is within this context, that those certain fold embarked upon and competed with each other in directing their attention to trying to actualise and fulfil eemaan.

Since, the Muslim, to whom Allaah grants success, his concern for his eemaan is greater than any other concern he may have – and this must be so. When this became evident to the Pious Predecessors of this nation, the first and best of this ummah, their concern for their eemaan was very eminent and the attention they gave to it was enormous. They, (may Allaah be pleased and have mercy upon them) used to tend to their eemaan, inspect their actions, and give each other advice. Continue reading

The Muslim Diary: A Daily Guide To Worship

In these times of hastening and being busy, of ‘no time’ and ‘o, I forgot,’ we want to give ourselves a guide to help us in our worship through each day. The Muslim Diary contains a practical list on which you can mark the acts of worship and good deeds you did that day. The list is a selection of the most recommended acts of ‘ibadah [worship] in a schedule with all week days. All the deeds are being explained in an easy but powerful way through Qur’anic verses and Ahadith.   How to use The Muslim Diary. You can use the diary to strive to start practising all the mentioned points. There are many more things you can do, but The Muslim Diary is just a guide for a few very useful acts which carry great rewards. You can also use The Muslim Diary as a tool to improve yourself. What did I do last month? What can I do this month to make it better? Possible ‘shortcomings’ will be visible this way. The name ‘diary’ already says it and this is how you should treat it. Make sure it becomes something personal and show it to nobody else. All the acts being ticked or coloured are between you and Allah the Most High.   Abu Hafs ‘Umar bin al-Khattab [ra] said: “I heard the Messenger of Allah [saw] saying: Actions are only by intentions, and every man has only that which he intended. Whoever’s emigration is for Allah and His Messenger then his emigration is for Allah and His Messenger. Whoever’s emigration is for some worldly gain which he can acquire or a woman he will marry then his emigration is for that for which he emigrated.” [Bukhari, Muslim]   That is why we should keep trying to make our intentions pure and sincere. For any deed to be accepted by Allah, the Most High, must be done for Allah the Glorious, the Most High alone and it must be done the way Allah, the Exalted and His Prophet Muhammad [saw] legislated.   We ask Allah the Glorious, the Mighty, by His beautiful Names and sublime Attributes to accept this as being done sincerely for His Face alone. May those who read it and those who have had any role in distributing it or supported in publishing it, greatly benefit from it. Surely He, glory is to Him, is Capable of all things. The Two Eids And Their Significance

‘The Arabic word “Eid” refers to something habitual, that returns and is repeated, thus stands  literally for a recurrent event. It also implies a place often visited by people, and the period of time in which a particular act is regularly performed. Likewise, each gathering that assembles regularly comes under the category,  ‘Eid’. Eids or festivals are symbols to be found in every nation, including those that are based on revealed scriptures and those that are idolatrous, as well as others, because celebrating festivals is something that is an instinctive part of human nature. All people like to have special occasions to celebrate, where they can come  together and express their joy and happiness.’ Continue reading

33 Ways Of Developing Khushoo’ In Salaah (Prayer)

http://islamfuture.files.wordpress.com/2010/06/33-ways-of-developing-khushoo-in-salaah-prayer.jpg?w=450&h=395

Muhammad Salih Al-Munajjid
Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 44 | Size: 1 MB

Salaah is the greatest of the practical pillars of Islam, and khushoo’ in prayer is required by sharee’ah. When Iblees, the enemy of Allaah, vowed to mislead and tempt the sons of Adam and said “Then I will come to them from before them and behind them, from their right and from their left…” [al-A’raaf 7:17, interpretation of the meaning], one of his most significant plots became to divert people from salaah by all possible means and to whisper to them during their prayer so as to deprive them of the joy of this worship and cause them to lose the reward for it. As khushoo’ will be the first thing to disappear from the earth, and we are living in the last times, the words of Hudhayfah (may Allaah be pleased with him) are particularly pertinent to us: “The first thing of your religion that you will lose is khushoo’, and the last thing that you will lose of your religion is salaah. There may be a person praying who has no goodness in him, and soon you will enter the mosque and not find anyone who has khushoo’.” (al-Madaarij, 1/521).

Because of what every person knows about himself, and because of the complaints that one hears from many people about waswaas (insinuating thoughts from Shaytaan) during the salaah and the loss of khushoo’, the need for some discussion of this matter is quite obvious. The following is a reminder to myself and to my Muslim brothers, and I ask Allaah to make it of benefit.

This book talks about on how to develop Khushoo in prayers, rulings on Khushoo, the means of developing Khushoo, knowing the advantages of Khushoo in prayers and etc. Continue reading

The Islamic definition of Bid’ah: Imaam Ash-Shaafi’i, may Allaah have mercy upon him, said: “A Bid’ah is anything that has no basis in the Qur’aan, Sunnah or sayings of any of the companions.” Ibn Al-Jawzi, may Allaah have mercy upon him, said: “A Bid’ah is any form of worship that did not exist (at the time of the Prophet sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam and his companions) then later it was innovated.” Ibn Rajab, may Allaah have mercy upon him, said: “A Bid’ah is any form of worship which has no basis in the Sharee’ah which would warrant its legislation.”

Ibn Rajab al Hanbali

He was the noble Imaam, the Haafidh, the Critic, Zayn-ud-Deen ‘Abdur-Rahmaan bin Ahmad bin ‘Abdir-Rahmaan bin al-Hasan bin Muhammad bin Abil-Barakaat Mas’ood As-Salaamee Al-Baghdaadee (due to his placce of birth), Al-Hanbalee (due to his madh-hab), Ad-Dimashqee (due to his place of residence and death). His kunyah was Abul-Faraj, and his nickname was Ibn Rajab, which was the nickname of his grandfather who was born in that month (of Rajab). He was born in Baghdad in 736H and was raised by a knowledgeable family, firmly rooted in knowledge, nobility and righteousness. His father played the greatest role in directing him towards the beneficial knowledge who himself was a great scholar. Ibn Rajab, may Allaah have mercy on him, was deeply attached to the works of Shaikh-ul-Islaam Ibn Taimiyyah, for he would issue legal rulings according to them and would constantly reference his books. This is since he served as a student under Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah, the most outstanding student of Shaikh-ul-Islaam Ibn Taimiyyah, may Allah have mercy on all of them. But in spite of this, he (rahimahullaah) wasn’t a blind follower or a fanatical adherent (to his teacher). Rather, he would review, authenticate, verify and follow the evidences He became an expert in all the sciences related to hadith. He then taught hadith, and fiqh according to Hanbali school. He was a leading scholar of the Hanbali school. His work al-Qawa`id al-kubra fi al-furu` is clear evidence of his expertise in fiqh, demonstrating an extreme, even exhaustive knowledge of the intricacies of detailed fiqh issues. He was known for piety, righteousness. His sermons were considered most effective, full of blessing and beneficial. People of all schools were unanimous as to his quality, and the hearts of the people were full of love for him. He did not get involved in any worldly business, nor visited people of material positions. Among his best known and most referred works is the book (Jami` al-ulum wa al-hikam) the commentary on al-Arba`un (the forty hadiths) of al-Nawawi. He added ten hadiths to the original 40 and commented in detail on all of these fifty hadiths. This commentary discusses all aspects of the hadiths, the chain of narrations, the narrators, and the text. He also wrote a detailed 20-Volume scholarly commentary on the Sunan at-Tirmidhi Hafiz Ibn Hajar al-`Asqalani said of him: “He was a great expert in the sciences of hadith – the historical accounts of narrators, the chains of narration, and meaning of the text.” Al-Haafidh Ibn Rajab, may Allaah have mercy on him passed to the realm of the Akhira in Ramadaan, 795H. He died while in Damascus. Continue reading

Ibn Taymiyyah
Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 82 | Size: 1 MB

Part Two of the Towards Islamic Psychology series, (Part 1: Patience and Gratitude), is a planned series of books which, drawing on the Islamic scholarly heritage, will offer practical advice rooted in the Qur’an and Sunnah, to address many psychological woes of our modern age. Shaykh Ibn Taymiyyah defines the concept of worship in Islam and explains that to be a true “slave of Allah” is a status of both virtue and nobility. The title “slave of Allaah” is one of great honor which Allah bestowed upon the best of creation, Muhammad (SAW). Ibn Taymiyyah  highlights the prevalent traps which people fall into, when becoming enslaved by, or allowing their hearts to become attached to worldly objects. The emphasis is on servitude to Allah which is adorned with the true love we hold for Him in our hearts — a matter of central importance for every Muslim.

Highly Recommended for the young blooded who Want to Run before they can Walk and even the Old timers ‘Who sometimes are  so comfortable Walking that they have forgotten that there is sometimes a need to run’ in the Path Towards Allah. Continue reading

The Rights Of Children In Islam

Shaykh Muhammad Salih Al-Munajjid

Islamic Legislation takes great interest in, and attaches great importance to children, and many rulings,  etiquettes and instructions were laid down concerning them. Unfortunately, we live in a time were the radiant sun  of Islamic rulings has set; knowledge has disappeared; and blind imitation of the west and ignorance in general is  widespread. Many Muslims who fell in love with the western way of life became interested in how the westerners take care of their children, as well as what they do to bring joy and happiness to their children; at the same time,  these Muslims neglected everything that Islam has to offer in this regard. This book is an adaption of a friday  khutbah given by Sheikh Muhammed Salih Al-Munajjid explaining how the Muslim should raise his children. Continue reading

Raising Children In Islam

Worship and doctrine are two inseperable things because doctrine represents the theoretical aspect of Islam whereas worship represents its practical aspect.  So, worship is the soul of doctrine that gives it life and the mirror that reflects its image.  When a child turns his little face to his lord and responds to His Commands he is, by this, only fulfilling and satisfying a natural instinct inside him.  Dr. Sa’id al-Buti referred to this saying, “But in order to make the doctrine strongly implanted in the soul, it must be irragated with the water of worship.  Worship in its various images and shapes will make the doctrine grow and flourish in the heart and will make it stand firm in front of the hardships of life”.

A child is not oliged to observe the preceps of religion.  Nevertheless the stage of childhood must be a stage of preparation and practice.  This makes it easy for a child when reaching maturity -the age of  obligation- to perform the duties and the compulsory acts of worship and he thus becomes ready to confront the troubles of life confidently and courageously. [Al Ghurabah] Alleviating Grievances In Describing The Condition Of The Strangers

http://islamfuture.files.wordpress.com/2010/06/alleviating-grievances-in-describing-the-condition-of-the-strangers.jpg?w=450&h=395

Ibn Rajab al Hanbali
Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 25 | Size: 1 MB

This book is a translation of a short treatise entitled Kashf-ul-Kurbah fee wasfi Hali Ahlil-Ghurbah, or Alleviating Grievances in Describing the Condition of the Strangers, written by the great Imaam, Al- Hafidh Zayn-ud-Deen Ibn Rajab Al-Hanbalee, rahimahullaah. In this treatise, Ibn Rajab deals with the topic of the Strangers, or Al-Ghuraba. He begins by listing the many ahaadeeth reported about them, in which the Messenger of Allah describes their attributes and explains their position. They are given this name because they will be strange during the Last Days, due to their adherence to the Sunnah and to the Way of the First Muslims, the Salaf As-Salih. So just as those who first accepted Islaam at the hands of Muhammad (saws) were considered strangers with their families and close ones, then indeed, those who adhere to the Sunnah in the last Days, when innovations and misguidance are rampant and widespread, will also be considered strangers amidst their families and close ones, not to mention the disbelievers.

The Imam then goes on to explain these ahaadeeth based on various statements from the Salaf. And he categorizes this Strangeness into several types – both inner and outer. It must be noted that Ibn Rajab uses several weak ahaadeeth in this treatise, which have been pointed out. And towards the end of his treatise, he begins to divert from the topic by going deep into the issue of inner strangeness, sometimes focusing on aspects that have no basis in Islaam, such as talk about the ‘Aarif, wajd, khulwah, etc. These were Sufi ideas that were prevalent during his time. The Virtues Of Jihad

Muhammad Masood Azhar

A simple yet comprehensive study regarding the history and rewards of performing Jihad. The hearts of the Kafirs are burning with hate and animosity for Islam but they frightened and scared stiff of the same people whom they have labeled as “the fundamentalists” and “the extremists” These Kafirs are not scared of the Muslims leaders, because they know well that these so-called leaders could bought over a goblet of alcohol. They are not afraid of the Armed Forces of any Muslim country, because they know that these forces are constrained by their Heads of States. The Kafirs only fear the blasts of those bombs which detonated in the Israeli army’s installations and barracks; they are scared of those mines which blast the Indian army’s vehicles. They are frightened of the restriction enforced upon Amarnahh Yatra, (a Hindu religious procession) which shook the whole of India. They fear a blind holy man like Umar Abdul-Rahmad (a distinguished ‘Aalim, presently in a US jail on trumped charges) who dared to speak about the greatness of Islam. They are afraid of those Muslim youth of Europe who openly stroll the streets of London and Paris wearing military clothing and are eager and anxious to participate in the defense of Bosnia. They are scared of shamil Basayev (leader of the Mujahedeen, who successfully carried out the Jihad inside Russia) who with handful of Mujahedeen had forced the whole Russia to their knees. Their hearts are filled with awe of general Dudayev (leader of the Mujahedeen in Chechnya, recently assassinated by the Kafir Russians) who reminds them of Imam Shaamil (the great leader of Muslims of Russia who raised the flag of the Jihad against the then Tsarist Russian Empire). Their minds are disturbed with the thought of those unknown Mujahedeen who forced the Americans to pack their bags from Somalia. They are frightened of those Muslim daughters who somehow transport weapons to the Mujahedeen in Kashmir, Palestine, Bosnia. All Kafirs fear the word of Jihad. It is our duty and responsibility to revive the forgotten obligation of Jihad. Continue reading

The Life And Times Of Khattab

Media-HQ Productions | DVD: MPEG Video | Size: 1 GB

“ Heroes emerge from the womb of virtue, sacrifice and honour, through the honour of servitude and submission to Allah, the Almighty King, only to Him and to no others but Him. They lead armies of Islam into the battlefields, they fought battles beyond imagination and illustrated supreme examples in sacrifice and bravery….. an example from this age….Khattab.” –Extract from the documentary

Khattab, whose real name was Samir Saleh Abdullah al-Suwailem, was born in Arar, Saudi Arabia, in 1969 and was described as a brilliant student who would regularly score high percentage pass rates in school examinations.

At the tender age of 17, Khattab left Saudi Arabia to participate in the fight against the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. It was to be his first experience in war and the start of an illustrious military career that would span 14 years.

After the war ended against the Russians, Khattab refused to come home to his family, instead choosing to move on to another war zone. During the next 14 years, he subsequently only visited his family on two occasions, the last of them being 1993. This was after he was gravely wounded four times and was the lone survivor when a truck exploded.

From 1995, till his assassination, Khattab fought in Chechnya. He was to become the commander-in-chief of the foreign fighters who were now inflicting heavy losses on the occupying Russian Army. Continue reading

The Aqeedah Of At-Taifah Al-Mansoorah

The Aqeedah Of At-Taifah Al-Mansoorah: A text explaining the aqeedah of the Taifatul Mansoorah with evidences from Quran and Sunnah. Know, O servant of Allaah, that Allaah (SWT) created the whole creation behind which was a great Hikmah (wisdom) and that is to worship Him alone without making any association with Him (SWT). Allaah (SWT) said:

وَمَا خَلَقۡتُ ٱلۡجِنَّ وَٱلۡإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعۡبُدُونِ

“And I did not create man or Jinn except for my worship.” [Dhariyaat 56]

The above ayah means to worship Allaah (SWT) singularly and alone (i.e. Yuwahidoon). He ( SWT ) has also said:

وَلَآ أَنتُمۡ عَـٰبِدُونَ مَآ أَعۡبُدُ

“And you do not worship what I worship.”[Kaafiroun 3]

Allaah (SWT) has negated all of the worship the Mushrikeen (idolators) undertake even if they performed some ritual actions for Him (SWT); since they used to perform Shirk (association) in their worship and did not practice Tawheed. Tawheed being to dedicate all Allaah (SWT)’s rights to Him exclusively without association. He (SWT) says:

وَأَنَّ ٱلۡمَسَـٰجِدَ لِلَّهِ فَلَا تَدۡعُواْ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ أَحَدً۬ا

“And the Masaajid (mosques) are for Allaah alone. So invoke none (make Du’a) along with Allaah.” [Jinn 18] Continue reading

Jihad In The Qur’an And The Sunnah

Shaykh Abdullah Humaid

After the testimony of Oneness of Allaah swt and the Messengership of Muhammad , with firm belief and True Faith, one has to perform the acts of worship as ordained by Islaam. Among the obligatory acts of worship are offering the Salat (prayers), observing the Saum (fasts), paying the Zakat and performing the Hajj (pilgrimage to Makka). Besides these acts of worship, a Muslim is directed to abstain from evil deeds and to perform good deeds, so that he may achieve success in the Hereafter, as well as, in the life of this world. But, as regards the reward and blessing, there is one deed which is very great in comparison to all the acts of worship and all the good deeds-and that is Jihad! Jihad is regarded as the best thing, one can offer voluntarily. It is superior to non-obligatory prayers, fasting, Zakat, Umra and Hajj as mentioned in the Qur’aan and the Ahadith of the Prophet . The benefits of Jihad are of great extent and large in scope, while its effects are far-reaching and wide-spreading as regards Islaam and the Muslims. For an individual Muslim, Jihad includes all acts of worship and all aspects of belief- thus bringing him greatest reward and vast blessings; and for the Muslim nation, Jihad provides all kinds of successes in respect of prosperity and dignity, victory and glory-thus bringing magnificence and splendour. In this article, Sheikh ‘Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Humaid, ex-Chief Justice of Saudi Arabia, has presented Jihad in the light of Qur’aan and Sunna. Never before such an article was seen, describing Jihad in its true colours-so heart evoking and encouraging! May Allaah bless him with all His Blessings for all times. Dr. Muhammad Muhsin Khan, the translator of the Noble Qur’aan and the Sahih Al-Bukhari, has translated this article from Arabic to the English language with all its fervor and feelings. [Thawaabit ‘Ala Darb Al Jihad] Constants In The Path Of Jihad is one of the best contemporary books on the subject of Jihad. It was written by Shaykh Yusuf al ‘Uyayree. Shaykh Yusuf had left at an early age to fight in Afghanistan against the Russians. People who knew him described him as a very intelligent individual who was well-versed in all of the weaponry in all fields and was able to train with them very well. Later, he returned to the Arabian Peninsula where he continued serving the Mujahideen in Sheeshan and fundraised for them. As time passed, he was arrested and put in jail for a few years. In jail he memorized al Bukhari and Muslim. When he came out, he wrote a few books; each one of them is a masterpiece. One can see the depth of his textual references to Qur’an and Sunnah as well as references to present day occurrences. Imam Anwar al Awlaki brings this book back to life in his lecture series on the book. Continue reading

This book is extremely close to a word-by-word transcription of Imam Anwar al-Awlaki’s lecture. I have chosen to take out or add a few words – and not more than that – to smoothen the flow for the reader. I’ve also added many footnotes along the way to explain words, sentences, backgrounds, and adding daleel to what the speaker is saying. As you know and will find out in greater detail that this subject is one of extreme importance; so the footnotes, I felt, were absolutely necessary to further expand on the words of the speaker.

Anwar Al-Awlaki

Imam Anwar Al-Awlaki was born in New Mexico, USA. He studied the Islamic sciences of Quran, hadith, and fiqh with scholars from Yemen. Imam Anwar served as an Imam in Denver, Colorado; San Diego, Callifornia; and Falls Church, Virginia. He is the author of the audio series on “The Lives of the Prophets”, “The Hereafter”, “The Life and Time of Abu Bakr”, “The Life and Time of Umar” , “The Messenger of Allah” along with other single lectures. Imam Anwar also holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Colorado State University, and a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from San Diego State University. Currently he resides in Yemen.
