Imam Ibn Kathir
Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 51 | Size: 25 MB

The Prophet not only warned his Ummah against Dajjal; the false Messiah, but stated in detail his colour, height, width, eye-shape, inscriptions on his forehead, his seductions, his method of aberrance, how to escape from his temptations, his current location, and so on. All the details about Dajjal are here in this book.

Imam Ibn Kathir

He was Emaad Ed-Deen Isma’eel Ibn ‘Umar Ibn ibn Katheer , originally from Busra (Syria) – and raised in Damascus. He followed the Shafi`ee school of thought. Ibn Kathir was born in the year 700 AH or little later in an area called Majdal, near Busra, west of Damascus. His father died when he was only four years old and was taken in by his brother and moved to Damascus in 706. Here, he learned from great scholars such as Ibn Asakir, Ishaq ibn Yahya al-Amudi and the great Ibn Taymiyyah who was extremely close to him. He also studied under various other sheikhs who gave him permission in fiqh and Hadith. He made many academic contributions to Islamic sciences.

He made many academic contributions to Islamic sciences. The following are amongst his most prominent:

Tafseer of the Qur’an, Al-Bidayah wan-Nihayah: a history of Muslims from Adam until Ibn Kathir’s time, At-Takmeel: a book on the science of Asmaaul Rijal (profiles of transmitters of Hadith), Jami`ul Masaneed: a book that collects the Hadith from ten major books of Hadith, , The classes of Shafi`ee scholars: a list of scholars following the Imam, Extraction of the traditions of Tanbeeh (a Shafi`ee book of jurisprudence), The commentary on al-Bukhari (which he did not finish), The book of laws (again, he did not complete it), The summary to the science of Hadith; a synopsis to the introduction of Ibn Saah’s work, Extraction of the traditions to the summary of Ibn Hajib, Musnad of the two sheikhs (Abu Bakr and Umar), Biography of the Prophet, sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam, The epistle of Jihad.

Many of These have been translated into the English Language (Even though some are Abrdged Translations),

Al-Hafiz Ibn hajar Al-Asqalani said,”Ibn Kathir lost his sight just before his life ended. He died in Damascus in 774A.H. May Allah grant him Mercy and make him amongst the residents of Jannah (Heavenly Garden). Continue reading

Preventive Measures Against Shaytan And Authentic Ruqyah According To The Shari’ah

Mustafa Ibn Al-Adawi

In the name of Allah, the most Beneficent, the most Merciful

Indeed It is only Satan that suggests to you the fear of his helpers, so fear them not, but fear Me, if you are (true) believers. {Surah Al-’Imran 3:175}

It is the battle with Iblees, may Allah curse him and his party that has been the principal battle since the time the enemy of Allaah resolved to pursue Aadam and his offspring in all situations and at all times, coming to him from all directions and following him every minute, as Allaah The Lord of all Creation informed us: (Ibless) said: Allow me respite until the Day they raised up. Allaah said: You are of those given respite. (Iblees) said: because You have sent me astray I will sit against the (mankind) on Your Straight Path. Then I will come to them from in front of them and behind them, for their right and their left, and You will not find most of them thankful to You.

Ash-Shaytaan this announced this struggle as a fierce, murderous war, springing from his evil nature, arrogance and rancor toward mankind. He has sought the permission of Allaah to fight, and Allaah has granted His permission for a wisdom He knows. Thus ash-Shaytaan has come forth executing and deriding His slaves.

However, Allah has not left mankind devoid of any equipment, for he has given them Imam that which is a shield, remembrance of him (dhikr) as preparation and the seeking of protection of him (al-isti adhah) as a weapon. Allah has exposed the steps and methods taken by shaytan, so that if a person neglects his shield and weapon and falls short in recognizing the plots and plans of his enemy, then his enemy will have power over him – and there is no ability or power except from Allah. If the servant of Allah gives permission to his enemy, opens the door to his house for him, admits him therein and allows him to brandish the weapon on to fight with then he is alone to blame, and he should not blame anyone but himself. Truly it is by permission of Allan that a person once stated: ‘Die in grief, for you have no excuse’.

When Satan inflicts a person with his touch it is blinding, and it obstructs the vision, but fear of Allah along with contemplation and submission to Him enables the heart to become connected with Allah. This state arouses the heart from neglecting His guidance so that those with taqwa remember, and when they make remembrance of Allah their vision is opened and covering is removed so that they become clear sighted.

I therefore sought the guidance of Allaah in gathering the “Islamic equipment” that will overcome Shaytaan and his party. The result was this treatise, in which I have explained the Divine warning against the Shaytaan’s deception. I ask Allaah that it be a protection for the Believers against the plots of Shaytaan and the deceptions of Iblees. I hope from any earnestly concerned brother that if he sees any mistakes or shortcomings in this book he will advise me, for indeed Allah has made sincere advise an act of worship for he who, intention is pure. Self-Ruqya Treatment: Do It Yourself Treat Your Family

http://islamfuture.files.wordpress.com/2011/06/self-ruqya-treatment.jpg?w=450&h=395

Dr. Khalid Aljuraisy
Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 292 | Size: 24 MB

Praise be to Allah, the Kind the Ever Caring (1), the Able, the Merciful, the Owner of the dominion. It is who answers the prayers of those in urgent need, who heals His slaves whom He tries with illness.

Praise is due to Him for His great blessings and generosity.

We testify that there is no God but Allah, alone without partners, and we testify that Muhammad is His slave and messenger, whom He has sent as a mercy to all mankind.

May Allah’s peace and blessings be upon Prophet Muhammad, his kin, his sahaabah (companions) and he dedicated followers.

Regrettably, some Muslims have neglected ruqyas. Others may have never thought about them at all. They may even see them as nonsense (2). However, the faithful believe that ruqyas are a worthy means of immense benefit for healing all physical and non-physical illnesses. Shari’ah statements confirm the permissibility of seeking healing by Qur’anic recitations and the Prophet’s established prayers. For example, Allah says, “…Say: It [the Qur’an) is for those who believe [in it] guidance and a healing.” [41/44] Also, according to the Hadith, “When Allah’s Messenger became ill, Gibreel (Angel Gabriel) would do (this) ruqya unto him: In the name of Allah, may He grant you healing. May He cure you of all illnesses, of the evil of whoever envies you, and of evil eyes.”(3)

Evidently, the ruqya literature has wide range of ruqyas. Basically, if a ruqya is permissible and it established to be beneficial, it is used. For example, some rqaais (performers of ruqya) use short surahs (Qur’anic chapters), such as Surat Al-Faatihah. Others may use a long one, such as Surat Al-Baqarah. Also, a selection of surahs can be used, e.g. Al-Faathiah plus Al-Falaq and An-Naas. Some may even use only one Ayah, e.g. Ayat Al-Kursi. Sometimes, water, oil or honey is used. The raaqi recites the ruqya unto clean water to be drunk by the patient, unto oil to be rubbed onto the body, or unto honey to be eaten.
In all the above-mentioned examples, the raaqi uses a permissible ruqya which he believes to be beneficial; and suitable for a Particular patient. This is based on the Prophet’s saying, “Let me see your ruqyas. Ruqyas are valid provided that they are void of shirk.”(4) The Prophet also says. “I see no harm (in ruqyas). Let whoever can benefit his fellow Muslim do so.”(5)

Evidently, some imams among the salaf (early righteous Muslims) used for ruqya Ayahs that had not been designated for ruqya earlier. For example, as mentioned by Ibn-Alqayyim in Attib Annabawi (Prophetic Medicine), for women having difficult labour, Imam Ahmad used to write as ruqya on white paper or something clean the following supplications, from the Hadith and the Qur’an:

- “There is no God but Allah, the Almighty, the Forbearing. Blessed be Allah, the Lord of the Glorious Throne. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds.” (6)
- “On the day when they see that which they are promised (it will seem to them) as though they had tarried but an hour of daylight. A clear message. Shall any be destroyed save evil living folk?” [69/35]
- On the day when they behold it, it will be as if they had but tarried for an evening or the morn thereof.” [79/46]
According to Ibn-Alqayyim, some the salaf (early Muslims) – Ibn-Taymiyyah among them – mentioned that Imam Ahmad had written that ruqya for several cases of difficult delivery.

It would be impracticable to detail salaf statements with respect to the ruqyas they based on ijtihad. Therefore, not only have I selected the Ayahs specified by evidence as ruqya, but have also included other prayers believed to be beneficial for the treatment of sihr (witchcraft), possession, the evil eye and other illnesses, physical as well as non-physical. Exposing Shaytan (Satan)

Exposing Shaytan (Satan): Tricks, Deceit and Means used by Shaytan in misguiding the children of Adam and Ways of protecting ourselves and our Homes from the accursed.

In the name of Allah, the most Beneficent, the most Merciful

“Surely, Shaitân (Satan) is an enemy to you, so take (treat) him as an enemy. He only invites his Hizb (followers) that they may become the dwellers of the blazing Fire. ” [Soorah al-Fatir (35): 6]

It is due to the seriousness of Shaytan’s fitnah (temptation, tribulation, trial) that Allah has distinctly exposed his goals and plots in the Qur’aan. The Prophet repeatedly warned against Shaytan’s power to tempt mankind into disobeying Allah. He would relentlessly reveal Shaytan’s trickery and deceit and inform about ways of defense against the accursed.

So, what are the deceptions, tricks and strategies of Shaytan? How does Shaytan enter the human soul and drive it towards sin and transgression? How does he corrupt people’s hearts and souls by making false promises and arousing high hopes? Does Shaytan posses the power to force us into committing sins? To what extent will Shaytan succeed in achieving his goal? Can we defeat Shaytan?

This booklet will Insha’Allah, comprehensively answer these baffling questions and dispel many doubts on the subject like why Allah created Shaytan and why Shaytan was granted his request to remain alive until the Day of Judgement.

This booklet will also elaborate upon Aqeedah points that are learnt from the disgraceful story of Shaytan’s failure and from the grievous stories of those who fell into his traps from the nations past.

The last part of this booklet focuses on the means prescribed in the Qur’aan and the Sunnah to dispel Shaytan and protect ourselves and our homes from him.

A number of original Arabic works were referred to in the compilation of this booklet, most importantly; Shaytan: Khutuwatihi wa-Gayatihi by Wail Umar Ali Basheer, Adawatush- Shaytan lil-Insan, Alam al-Jinn, Tafseer al-Kabeer by Abdul-Aziz ibn Abdullah al-Rajhi, Aqeedah at-Tawheed by Shaikh Salih al- Fawzan, Tafseer Ibn Katheer and others.

I hope this booklet will serve as a handy weapon in combating Shaytan and all success lies with Allah. Continue reading

Jinns and magic are 2 topics which fascinate both Muslims and non-Muslims alike. Samir Abu Hamza speaks about the Islamic perspective on these mystical and hidden realities. Unfortunately many people do not understand the evils associated with some of these issues, and the Muslim world has become afflicted with some of these practices which can even lead to shirk. A presentation given with specific examples and exhibits, this talk is fascinating enough to answer the fascination of these topics. Continue reading

Magic & Envy In The Light Of Qur’an And Sunnah

Magic, the temptation of the devil, and envy, the temptation of the ego has always been found in the societies of people. And therefore, naturally, these two threats to decency are being dealt with in the last revelation from Allah to His creation, and the last Messenger, may Allah give peace and blessings to all of them, similarly dealt with these topics in his advice to his contemporaries.

Based on the two prime sources for muslims, Sheikh Sha’rawi guides us through a deeper and more profound understanding of the origin of these two evils, and gives us ways to deal with them.

Shaykh Muhammad Mitwalli ash-Sha’rawi was born in a middle class family in the village of Daqadus in Egypt. Educated at the famous Al Azhar University where scholars such contributed Shaykh Ahmad Yusuf Nagati , Shaykh Ahmad `Imara , Shaykh Ibrahim Hamrush, Saykh Muhammad Mustafa al-Maraghi . Shaykh al-Sha’rawi mentions other non-Azharites whose knowledge he benefited from including Imam Hassan al-Banna who had a unique mythology of lecturing. Shaykh al-Sha’rawi started his Azharite teaching work in Tanta’s institute of religious studies. He was then transferred to equivalent institutes in al-Zaqaziq, Alexandria and King Abd al-Aziz al-Sa’ud university in Makkah He retired from the Azharite career in 1976. In the same year he was appointed by president Sadat as a minister of Waqf. He stayed in that position for two years. In 1980 he started his famous Friday lessons on the Egyptian television. His speaches in Qur’an interpretation (Tafsir) attracted a massive audience that is probably unparalleled by any contemporary Azharite. Continue reading

* Definition
* Evidence of the existence of sihr
* Categories of sihr
* How a ‘sahir’ brings about a jinn
* Punishment under Islamic law
* How to treat sahir
* Treatment of sahir
* Treatment of al-ayn (the ‘evil eye”)
* And much more.

The Author has extensively relied on Classical Scholars such as Al-Layth, Al-Azhari, Ibn Mandhur, Ibn Faris, Fakhr Ar-Razi, Ibn Qudama Al-Maqdisi,, Ibn Al-Qayyim and Many Others for his references

We often hear about cases of lunacy, constant headaches and stomach aches, insomnia, lethargy, hearing voices, sexual inability, sterility, frigidity, shattered marriages, woman’s continuous bleeding; and we often tend to have the undemanding answer that ‘it is Allah (SWT), or, as the ignorant would put it, ‘it is nature.’ Certainly, it is undisputable that anything in the Heavens and the Earth is managed by Allah , but we should not discard that Allah (SWT) has also commanded us to consider the causes of events. It is high time that we stopped and considered for a moment that, besides normal causes, there is the evil force of Sihr, the Arabic equivalent to sorcery. The sorcerer and Satan work in partnership to provide an ‘intent-to-harm service’ to their client, in return for a mere pittance which they receive from those with weak personalities and from the wicked, who hold grudges against their Muslim brothers and sisters and who love to see them suffer under the effects of sorcery.

‘Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of the dawn. From the evil of what He has created. And from the evil of the utterly dark night when it comes. And from the evil of those who blow on knots. And from the evil of the envious when he envies.’

The Evil Within

Sheikh Riyadul Haqq

Two of the greatest blessings from Allah Ta’ala are peace and prosperity. Today many Muslims despair over the fact that they are deprived of these two blessings by the enemies of Islam. However, Muslims should realise that they too are responsible for the deprivation of these two blessings and are guilty of inflicting dhulm (oppression) upon one another mentally and emotionally. This form of dhulm (oppression) is often overlooked, although it may prove to be more destructive than the former. Continue reading

The struggle against Iblees and his party- may Allaahs curse upon him- is a great battle which this enemy of Allaah persisted in undertaking since the pursuit against Aadam s-saliam and his offspring. He is at work all the time, at every moment, at every available opportunity, manipulating any circumstances and continuing his chase from every conceivable angle. The Lord of the Worlds, Blessed and exalted has informed us about this. Continue reading

The subject of the jinn is one which is of interest to many people. Folk stories abound, and many superstitious practices have arisen in Muslim cultures with regard to protection against the jinn. Many myths surround the ideas of the evil eye and envy, and there are many strange notions surrounding illnesses such as epilepsy and mental illness, which are often thought of as being caused by the jinn. This book cuts through all the confusion and identifies correct Islamic teachings on all these subjects. The jinn are real and they can indeed harm humans, but this book will teach you how to protect yourself in the manner taught by the Prophet (peace be upon him). Break free from fear, superstition and fairy stories, and familiarize yourself with the teachings of Islam on these important aspects of spirituality which the author presents here, drawing on the texts of the Qur’an and Sunnah and the writings of the respected scholars of Islam. Who is the devil? A question that always crosses our minds, finding no answer to it. The devil is unseen to us, he sees us but we cannot see him. He whispers in our ears and insinuates evil (thoughts, doubts, fears, suggestions..) into our minds without knowing where is he? Or what does he do? And the question persists, who is the devil? Allah, all praise and glory is to Him, out of mercifulness to our minds told us who the devil is, and the story of his enmity against mankind and how can we confront him and defeat him and defeat all the seen and the unseen powers in the entire universe. Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, orders us to seek refuge with Him from the devil because Allah, Whose Majesty reigns supreme, is The Omnipotent, highly above all His creatures, whether believers or disbelievers, obedient or disobedient, those given free choice or those without power of free choice. This captivating piece of literature takes a compeling look into satans roles through the ages. This book should Inshallah help the reader to understand the tools and limitations of mankinds greatest enemy. Continue reading

The Evil Of Craving For Wealth And Status

This book is the first English translation of the book Sharh Hadeeth Maa Dhi’baan Jaa’i’aan… written by the great scholar Ibn Rajab al-Hanbalee in explanation of the saying of the Prophet: (Sallallaahu ‘Alayhi wa Sallam). “Two hungry wolves let loose among sheep are not more harmful than a person’s craving after wealth and status is to his Deen.” The author warns us about the dangers of expending our energies in chasing after the transitory things of this world at the expense of the rewards of the Hereafter. It shows the correct perspective that a believer should have of this world in comparison to the Hereafter, which is especially important in this age when the people’s visions have become so blurred and their priorities mixed up.
