# Moderation and temperance are keynote of Islam

The simplicity of Islam, the powerful appeal and compelling atmosphere of its mosques, the earnestness of its faithful adherents, the confidence inspiring realization of the millions throughout the world who answer the five daily calls to prayer – these factors attracted me from the first.

The broad-minded tolerance of Islam for other religions recommends it to all lovers of liberty. Muhammad admonished his followers to treat well the believers in the
Old and New Testament; and Abraham, Moses, Jesus are acknowledged as co-Prophets of the One God. Surely this is generous and far in advance of the attitude of other religions.

Moderation and temperance in all things, keynote of Islam, won my unqualified approbation.

Col. Donald S. Rockwell – U.S.A.

# Islam alone can satisfy the needs of every member of the human family

Christianity must go the way of all things, and henceforth perish and forever to make room for the True Religion of God to mankind, and that is Islam, which is Truth, sincerity, toleration, looking to the interests of man and pointing him

to the Right Way. Islam alone can satisfy the needs of every member of the human family, and Muslims are the only people among whom can be found the “True Book of Brotherhood” in reality and not mere “make-belief’ as in Christianity .

Sir Jalaluddin Lauder Brunton – England

# Islam alone offers the solution of present-day problems

To the Western mind, the chief appeal of Islam must be its simplicity. Admittedly, there are one or two other faiths which are as easy of approach but they sadly lack the vitality of the Faith of the Prophet (may AWih bless him), and the spiritual and moral elevation which it offers.

Islam must also appeal by virtue of its tolerance … Strangely Christian intolerance awakened my first interest in Islam. The Churches are utterly incapable of grappling with present-day problems. Islam alone, offers the solution.

John Fisher – Newcastle

# In Islam I have found the true Faith for which I had been seeking so long

I devoted a considerable amount of my spare time to a thorough study of an English translation of the Holy Qur’ an, and as I read over and over again, certain of the words of the Prophet Muhammad (may Allah exalt his mention), I could not help but see that here, at last, in Islam I had found the true faith for which I had been seeking so long.

I would like to say that I feel confident, that if only people in this and other Western countries can be brought to appreciate the full meaning of Islam, and what it stands for, the ranks of Islam will be daily swelled, only unfortunately there is a vast amount of misapprehension in the minds of many ‘Free Thinkers’ and others who still cling to their old creed simply because they require the moral courage to abandon a faith, with the principles of which they are, at variance, and to embrace Islam.

Walker H. Williams

#If Britain and Europe were converted to Islam, they would again be powerful forces for good

There is no version of Christianity which is really satisfactory. Christians believe that because of the fall of Adam and Eve, all human beings are born in a state of original. sin, and are unable by their own actions to merit Heaven. Muslims, however, do not believe that people are punished for the sin of Adam and Eve. They believe that all human beings are born of innocence, and can only lose their hope of Heaven by their own sins when they are old enough to be guilty of deliberate wrong-doing.

If Britain and Europe were converted to Islam, they would again be powerful forces for good. British and European Muslims are some of the best.

Khadija F.R. Fezoui – England

# The purity and simplicity of the Islamic Faith and its obvious Truth made a special appeal to me!

The purity and simplicity of the Islamic Faith, its freedom from dogma and sacredotalism and its obvious Truth made a special appeal to me. The honesty and sincerity of the Muslims, too, are greater than anything I have seen in Christians.

Another beauty ofIslam is its equality. It is only Islam that has real equality maintained between man and man and no other religion has anything like it. The Faith of Islam generates unity.

The Deen of Islam is also the cleanest religion in the world because Muslims have to wash the exposed parts of the body five times a day, a practice not found in any other religion of the world.

Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) Truly Is The Prophet Of Allah

All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds, the Creator of the heavens and the earth, the Originator of the darkness and the light. I bear witness that nothing is worthy of worship but Allah, Who is Alone, with no partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad (sws, salla Allahu `alaihi wa sallam: may the peace and blessing of Allah be upon him) is His slave and prophet. Oh Allah, let your peace be upon Muhammad (sws), the final prophet and messenger, his family, his companions and all those who followed him and upheld his traditions until the Day of Judgment.

Allah, the Glorious and Exalted, defends his prophets and preserves their position amongst all creation, whether in the present life or after their death. Allah Almighty singled out His prophet, Muhammad (sws), with special protection, due to the severe oppression he suffered during his call to Islam and also due to the slander and accusations which continue to proceed from every misleading and misled group as it aims to defame Islam, the religion which Allah has elected to be the correct belief for the whole of mankind.

Allah honored His prophet, Muhammad (sws), and raised him above all mankind by distinguishing him with outstanding moral features which could not have been found in any other human being. This research has compiled evidence, proofs, verses, signs and miracles (including the miraculous nature of the Quran) which combine to prove the prophecy of Muhammad (sws). Many brilliant scholars have studied this evidence (some of which is scientific), and become convinced of the Message of Muhammad (sws) and the trustworthiness of the Quran and Hadith (the sayings and actions of the Prophet Muhammad, sws).

And the search is not over. With the progress of science, we may continue to discover more and more undeniable truths which have already been referenced in the Quran and Hadith. Yet, the fact that the Quran offered such detailed and accurate descriptions over 1400 years ago, when no one could possibly have had such precise knowledge, has made many knowledgeable people certain that the Quran is indeed a book from God (Allah), and that Muhammad (sws), who delivered these amazingly accurate statements, is a prophet sent by God (Allah).

This research presents testimony, in the form of statements, admissions and declarations, offered by prominent scholars and scientists, all of whom witnessed that Muhammad (sws) is the prophet of Allah. It also examines quotations from the previous Divine scriptures, the Torah and the Gospels, which prove the prophecy of Muhammad (sws).

This research provides a description of the morality of the Prophet Muhammad (sws): his character, behavior and way of thinking. This research has been composed and collected from many Islamic sources, and it ends with a brief exhortation. I ask Allah Almighty to accept this effort and all our good deeds. Allah says in the Quran:

بَلۡ نَقۡذِفُ بِٱلۡحَقِّ عَلَى ٱلۡبَـٰطِلِ فَيَدۡمَغُهُ ۥ فَإِذَا هُوَ زَاهِقٌ۬‌ۚ وَلَكُمُ ٱلۡوَيۡلُ مِمَّا تَصِفُونَ

This means, {Nay, we fling (send down) the truth (this Koran) against falsehood (disbelief), so it destroys it, and then falsehood is vanquished.} [Al-Anbiya 21:18]

The Message of Muhammad (peace be upon him)

It has always been Allah’s Way to send His messengers when the world is in need of them, and when people have strayed from the correct path that will connect them to Allah. Allah sends messengers when people have become corrupt, when they differ in opinion and quarrel, and when they are in need of a law to reform their beliefs and connect people with one another in harmonic and intimate unity. Only at that point would people be properly able to thank their God for the blessings He granted them, for sending them a prophet with pure beliefs, noble morals and a straight-forward system of legislation, based on truth, virtue and justice. Allah says:

It means, {O Prophet! Lo! We have sent thee as a witness and a bringer of good tidings and a Warner, and as one who invites to Allah (grace) by His leave, and as a lamp spreading light.} [Al-Ahzab 33: 45-46]

And He says:

It means, {He will enjoin on them that which is right and forbid them that which is wrong. He will make lawful for them all good things and prohibit for them only the foul; and he will relieve them of their burden and the fetters that they used to wear.} [Al-A`raf 7: 157] And He also says:

كَمَآ أَرۡسَلۡنَا فِيڪُمۡ رَسُولاً۬ مِّنڪُمۡ يَتۡلُواْ عَلَيۡكُمۡ ءَايَـٰتِنَا وَيُزَكِّيڪُمۡ وَيُعَلِّمُڪُمُ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبَ وَٱلۡحِڪۡمَةَ وَيُعَلِّمُكُم مَّا لَمۡ تَكُونُواْ تَعۡلَمُونَ

It means, {Even as We have sent unto you a messenger from among you, who recites unto you Our revelations and causes you to grow, and teaches you the Scripture and wisdom, and teaches you that which ye knew not.} [Al-Baqarah 2: 151] Continue reading

Who Is Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him)?

The following is based on books, manuscripts, texts and actual eyewitess accounts, too numerous to mention herein, preserved in orignal form throughout the centuries by both Muslims and non-Muslims.

Many people today are discussing Prophet Muhammad, may Allah his mention. Who was he exactly? What did he teach? Why was he loved so much by some and hated so much by others? Did he live up to his claims? Was he a holy man? Was he a prophet of God? What is the truth about this man? You be the judge.

Here are the facts as narrated by thousands of people, many of whom knew him personally. He was born to a noble tribe to the lineage of the leaders of Makkah.

* His name comes from the Arabic root “hamd ” and literally means “praised one.” People at his time and until this very moment, praise him many times per day, may Allah exalt his mention.

* He never fell into the common practice of his tribesmen to worship statues, idols or man-made “gods.”

* He believed that God was truly One God, and as such, He was to be worshipped alone, without any other “gods” beside Him.

* He held the Name of God in the highest of reverence and never took God’s ame in vain or for any vain glorious purpose.

* He despised false worship and all of the complexities and degradation to which it leads.

* He adhered to the Commandments of Almighty God, just as prophets of old had done in the past.

* He never committed adultery, and he forbade others from doing it.

* He forbade usury and interest on money lending, as Jesus, may Allah exalt his mention, had done centuries before him.

* He never gambled and did not allow it.

* He never drank alcohol or strong drink; even though it was a very normal thing for people of his time and place.

* He did not engage in gossip and used to turn away from hearing anything related to it.

* He fasted for days at a time to be closer to Almighty God and away from the narrowness of worldly attractions.

* He taught that Jesus, may Allah exalt his mention, was the immaculate conception and miracle birth of Mary, and that she was among the best creation of Almighty God.

* He insisted even to the Jews of Medina, that Jesus, may Allah exalt his mention, was the Messiah, the Christ, the one predicted to come in their Torah (Old Testament).

* He said Jesus, may Allah exalt his mention, did many miracles by the permission of Almighty God, curing the lepers, restoring sight to the blind and even bringing a dead man back to life.

* He stated clearly that Jesus, may Allah exalt his mention, was not dead, rather Almighty God had raised him up.

* He foretold that Jesus, may Allah exalt his mention, is going to return again in the Last Days to lead the true believers in a victory over the evil and unrighteous people, and he will destroy the Anti-Christ.

* He commanded the payment of charity to the poor and he was the defender and protector of widows, orphans and the wayfarers.

* He ordered people to unite with their families and honor the ties of kinship and he restored relationships between family members.

* He required his followers to engage only in lawful marriage relationships with women, and forbade sex outside of Almighty God’s Ordinance.

* He insisted on giving women their proper rights, dowries, inheritance and property.

* His patience and humble attitude were exemplary and all who knew him had to admit to these virtues.

A. He never lied, never broke a trust never bore false witness, and he was famous with all the tribes in Makkah and was known as: “The Truthful” (Al- Ameen).

B. He never once engaged in sex outside of marriage, nor did he ever approve of it, even though it was very common at the time.

C. His only relationships with women were in legitimate, contractual marriages with proper witnesses according to law.

D. His relationship to Ayesha was only that of marriage. Their relationship is described in every detail by Ayesha herself in the most loving and respectful manner as a match truly made in heaven. Ayesha is considered as one of the highest scholars of Islam and lived out her entire life only having been married to Muhammad, may Allah exalt his mention. She never desired any other man, nor did she ever utter a single negative statement against Muhammad, may Allah exalt his mention.

E. He forbade any killing until the orders came from Allah. Even then the limits were clearly spelled out and only those engaged in active combat against the Muslims or Islam were to be fought in combat. And even then, only according to very strict rules from Allah.

F. Killing any innocent life was forbidden.

G. There was no genocide of Jews. He offered mutual protection and forgiveness to the Jews even after they broke their covenants with him many times. They were not attacked until it was clearly proven they were traitors during time of war and tried to bring down the prophet, may Allah exalt his mention, and the Muslims at any cost. Retaliation was only to those Jews who had turned traitor and not others.

H. Slaves were common in those days for all nations and tribes. It was Islam that encouraged freeing of the slaves and the great reward from Allah for those who did so. Prophet, may Allah exalt his mention, gave the example of this by freeing slaves and encouraging all of his followers to do the same. Examples include his own servant (who was actually considered like a son to him) Zaid ibn Al Haritha and Bilal the slave who was bought by Abu Bakr only for the purpose of freeing him.

I. While there were many attempts of assassination made on Muhammad, may Allah exalt his mention, (most famous was the night that Ali took his place in bed while he and Abu Bakr escaped to Madinah), he did not allow his companions to slaughter any of those who had been involved in these attempts. Proof for this is when they entered Makkah triumphantly and his first words were to command his followers not to harm such and such tribes and so and so families. This was one of the most famous of his acts of forgiveness and humbleness.

J. Military combat was forbidden for the first thirteen years of prophethood. The desert Arabs did not need anyone to tell them how to fight or do combat. They were experts in this area and held feuds amongst tribes that lasted for decades. It was not until the proper method of warfare was instituted by Allah in the Quran, with proper rights and limitations according His Commandments, that any retaliation or combat was sanctioned. Orders from Allah made it clear who was to be attacked, how and when and to what extent fighting could take place.

K. Destruction of infrastructures is absolutely forbidden except when it is ordained by Allah in certain instances and then only according to His Commands.

L. Cursing and invoking evil actually came to the prophet, may Allah exalt his mention, from his enemies, while he would be praying for their guidance. Classic example is that of his journey to At-Taif where the leaders would not even hear him out nor offer so much as the normal courtesy called for and instead they set the children of the street against him, throwing rocks and stones at him until his body was bleeding so much, blood filled his sandals.

M. He was offered revenge by the angel Gabriel, if he would give the command, Allah would cause the surrounding mountains to fall down upon them destroying them all. Instead of cursing them or asking for their destruction, he prayed for them to be guided to worship their Lord alone, without any partners.

N. Prophet Muhammad, may Allah exalt his mention, claimed every person who is born is born in a state of ISLAM (submission to God), as a Muslim (MU-Islam means; “one who does ISLAM” i.e.; submits to God’s Will and obeys His Commandments). Then as they grow older they begin to distort their faith according to the influence of the prevailing society and their own prejudices.

O. Muhammad, may Allah exalt his mention, taught his followers to believe in the God of Adam, Noah, Abraham, Jacob, Moses, David, Solomon and Jesus, peace be upon them all, and to believe in them as true prophets, messengers and slaves of Almighty Allah. He insisted on ranking all the prophets up at the highest level without any distinction between them.

P. He also taught the Torah (Old Testament), Zaboor (Psalms) and Injeel (Gospel or New Testament) were originally from the very same source as the Quran, from Allah.

Q. He prophesied and foretold of events to come and they happened as he had said. He even predicted something from the past that would come true in the future, and it has. Continue reading

Who Is Your Lord?

Dr. Bilal Philips raises a few questions which we can use to judge to what degree do we know who our Lord is.

1. Do you agree with those who say who say that belief is a matter of blind faith?
2. If everything has a Creator then who created God?
3. If God can do anything, why can’t He have a son?
4. If God is all-powerful, can He create a stone which is too heavy for Him to lift?
5. If God is all-good and He is able to do all things then where did evil come from?

Dr. Bilal Philips will address these questions and clear the many false ideas and misconceptions many people have when it comes to their Lord. Continue reading

Is Allah (S.W) One Or Three?

(Say: He is Allah, the One and Only; Allah, the Eternal, Absolute; He begetteth not, nor is He begotten; and there is none like unto Him) (Holy Quran, 112: 1- 4)

(Christ the son of Mary was no more than an apostle; many were the apostles that passed away before him. His mother was a woman of truth. They had both to eat their (daily) food. See how Allah doth make His signs clear to them; yet see in what ways they are deluded away from the truth!) (Holy Quran, 5: 75)

(He was no more than a servant: We granted Our favour to him, and We made him an example to the Children of Israel.) (Holy Quran, 43: 59)

(They say, “((Allah)) Most Gracious has begotten a son!” Indeed ye have put forth a thing most monstrous! At it the skies are ready to burst, the earth to split asunder, and the mountains to fall down in utter ruin, That they should invoke a son for ((Allah)) Most Gracious. For it is not consonant with the majesty of ((Allah)) Most Gracious that He should beget a son. Not one of the beings in the heavens and the earth but must come to ((Allah)) Most Gracious as a servant. He does take an account of them (all), and hath numbered them (all) exactly. And everyone of them will come to Him singly on the Day of Judgment.) (Holy Quran, 19: 88 -95)

These noble verses have summarized the Muslim’s concept, faith and belief in Allah1 (S.W)2, the One and only, and His prophet Jesus (PBUH)1. He is a noble prophet and a great messenger whom Allah (S.W) sent to declare monotheism, and supported him with signs and guidance.

Monotheism, which is what Mohammad (PBUH) carried to humanity, is the faith and belief of all the prophets (PBUT) before him. (Not an apostle did we send before thee without this inspiration sent by us to him: that there is no god but I; therefore worship and serve Me.) (Holy Quran, 21: 25)

However, Christians believe contrary to the Muslims, as they believe that Jesus (PBUH) is the Son of Allah (S.W), and some of them believe that he is Allah (S.W) himself. They also believe that He, (Allah (S.W)) came down from heaven, incarnated, was slapped, suffered and crucified, for the atonement of the sin of humanity, which they inherited from their father Adam.

I question, where did they derive this belief, and is there some evidence in their books that support it? (Say, “Bring your convincing proof.) (Holy Quran, 21: 24)

In this third part of my series, considering the importance and the seriousness of this issue, I put forward my important questions, was Jesus (PBUH) a messenger or God? Is Allah (S.W) One or three? In order to answer these questions, I will search and investigate the Holy Bible, the Old and the New Testaments, supported by the clergymen’s and the western free thinker’s statements.

O Allah, show and guide us to the truth that we argue about, indeed, you guide, whom you will, to the straight path. Continue reading

Is The Old Testament God’s Word?

http://islamfuture.files.wordpress.com/2010/08/is-the-old-testament-god-s-word.jpg?w=450&h=395

Munqidh Bin Mahmoud Assaqqar
Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 184 | Size: 1.5 MB

Praise to Allah1 (S.W)2, the cherisher and sustainer of the worlds, and may peace and blessings be upon all of His messengers.

In every age and generation there will be honest people who are looking for the true guidance. Allah (S.W.) had sent his messengers with signs, light, and true guidance. “It was We who revealed the law (to Moses): therein was guidance and light.” (Holy Quran, Surah 5. Al-Ma’ida – 44)

“And in their footsteps We sent Jesus the son of Mary, confirming the Law that had come before him: We sent him the Gospel: therein was guidance and light, and confirmation of the Law that had come before him: a guidance and an admonition to those who fear Allah.” (Holy Quran, Surah 5. Al-Ma’ida – 46)

The Holy Quran, the final divine book, then was revealed to reveal the light and the true guidance. “O people of the Book! There hath come to you our Messenger, revealing to you much that ye used to hide in the Book, and passing over much (that is now unnecessary). There hath come to you from Allah a (new) light and a perspicuous Book,- Wherewith Allah guides all who seek His good pleasure to ways of peace and safety, and leads them out of darkness, by His will, unto the light,- guides them to a path that is straight.” (Holy Quran, Surah 5. Al-Ma’ida – 15 -16)

However, the previous books of Allah (S.W.) that revealed to prophets were lost due to the circumstances of writing and the way of conservation, and they were subject to distortion and loss. Thus, people went astray from the guidance and the right path, and people used other books that attributed to Allah (S.W.).

These books do not contain – except slightly – the true guidance and light. These written books contain and conclude the weakness of the human beings and their ignorance. They are full of contradictions, and issues, which no sane or wise person would accept their attribution to Allah (S.W.). This does not mean that these books are lack of the true guidance completely, but, as I mentioned, they were subject to alteration and human contradiction.

This is the Muslims’ belief of the previous books. Muslims believe in the books that Allah (S.W.) had revealed to his prophets, but they do not accept that the Old Testament is Allah’s (S.W.) word, even though it contains some of His revelation and guidance.

However, Christians and Jews believe that these books (The books of the Old Testament) are divine, and consider them the word of Allah (S.W.) that He revealed to His prophets and the Jews read and kept throughout their long history.

With this significant difference between the two teams, I propose the question, “Is the Old Testament Allah’s (S.W.) word?”, which I will try to answer in this book of this series, and present it to those who are searching for the true guidance among the people of the book (Christians and Jews).

In this series, I will search the folds of the sacred books of the Christians, to look, through the big pile of falsehood, for the truth that the prophet had spoken. In addition, I will prove, to those who believe in the divinity of these books, that they are not the word of Allah (S.W.). I have endorsed my evidence with the sayings of the church scholars, its councils, and foundations. Moreover, I used some of the sayings of the Western free thinkers, who spoke some of the truth that we are looking for in this series; the true guidance and light series.

Oh our Lord (Allah S.W), guide us to the truth by your will, indeed, you guide whom you want to the right path. Amen. Continue reading

We should know that the only way for our salvation in this life and in the hereafter is to know, for sure, our Lord who created us, believe in Him, and worship Him Alone. We should also know our prophet whom Allah had sent to us and to mankind, believe in Him and follow him. We should know the Religion of Truth which our Lord has commanded us to believe in and practice it. Continue reading

Is The New Testament God’s Word?

http://islamfuture.files.wordpress.com/2010/06/is-the-new-testament-god-s-word.jpg?w=450&h=395

Munqidh ibn Mahmoud As-Saqqaar

Allah (S.W) had sent his messengers – one after another – with signs, true guidance and light, to reveal them to people.

Among these faithful prophets was the great messenger and prophet, the Messiah, Jesus (PBUH). Allah (S.W.) bestowed the Gospel on him. “Then, We sent after them Our Messengers, and We sent ‘Îsâ (Jesus) – son of Maryam (Mary), and gave him the Injeel (Gospel). And We ordained in the hearts of those who followed him compassion and mercy. But the monasticism which they invented for themselves, We did not prescribe for them, but (they sought it) only to please Allâh therewith, but they did not observe it with the right observance. So We gave those among them who believed their (due) reward; but many of them are Fâsiqûn (rebellious, disobedient to Allâh).” (Al-Hadid: 27)

Allah (S.W.) asks the believers to believe in all prophets and in the revelations; He (S.W.) has given them. “Say (O Muslims), ‘We believe in Allâh and that which has been sent down to us and that which has been sent down to Ibrâhîm (Abraham), Ismâ‘îl (Ishmael), Ishâq (Isaac), Ya‘qûb (Jacob), and to Al-Asbât [the offspring of the twelve sons of Ya‘qûb (Jacob)], and that which has been given to Mûsâ (Moses) and ‘Îsâ (Jesus), and that which has been given to the Prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and to Him we have submitted (in Islâm).’” (Al-Baqarah: 136)

Describing the believers, Allah (S.W.) says, “The Messenger (Muhammad صلى الله علیھ وسلم ) believes in what has been sent down to him from his Lord, and (so do) the believers. Each one believes in Allâh, His Angels, His Books, and His Messengers. (They say), ‘We make no distinction between one another of His Messengers.’” (Al-Baqarah: 285)

The Gospel that Allah (S.W.) revealed to Jesus (PBUH) is not necessarily the chapters of the New Testament, which Christians consider holy, and was written by Jesus’ (PBUH) disciples and those after them. These human stories, biographies, and letters are not the revelation that Allah (S.W.) had revealed to Jesus (PBUH).

How could people attribute their own writings to Allah (S.W.) falsely? “Then woe to those who write the Book with their own hands and then say, ‘This is from Allâh,’ to purchase with it a little price! Woe to them for what their hands have written and woe to them for that they earn thereby.” (Al- Baqarah: 79)

This verse is clear divine evidence that the people of the book (Jews and Christians) had altered and changed the word of God. It declares that what they have now, Old and New Testaments is not the word of Allah (S.W.).

Nevertheless, Muslims have no objection that some of the New Testament passages, which tell us about Jesus’ (PBUH) advices, sayings and deeds, are true. This is the Muslims’ opinion regarding this issue. Christians believe that the New Testament is Allah’s (S.W.) word that was written by holy men with the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.

However, do the scientific historical evidences (and even the New Testament passages) support what the Holy Quran says or do they support the Christians belief? In our first book of this series, we proved that the Old Testament is not the word of Allah (S.W.). In this message, which is the second in this series, we will answer another question; is the New Testament God’s word?

To answer this question, we will investigate the Holy Bible, Christian theologians, researchers, and the science and history scholars, and following a scientific methodology.

Asking and praying to Allah (S.W.) to guide us all to the right path, I present this work to anyone who is looking for the truth. Continue reading

Praying Eid In The Musallaa Is The Sunnah

http://islamfuture.files.wordpress.com/2010/06/praying-eid-in-the-musallaa-is-the-sunnah.jpg?w=450&h=395

Imaam Muhammad Naasiruddeen al-Albaanee
Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 32 | Size: 1 MB

This book is a complete translation of the booklet Salaat-ul-’Eidayn fil-Musallaa hiya as-Sunnah (Praying ‘Eid in the Musallaa is the Sunnah) of Imaam Muhammad Naasir-ud-Deen Al-Albaanee, published by Al-Maktab-ul-Islamee (3rd Edition, 1986).

We present this treatise to our noble readers, in the hopes to convey knowledge of this lost Sunnah, which is: Praying ‘Eid in the Musallaa. Imaam Al-Albaanee, in his own unique style, discusses this topic in depth providing the evidences and sayings of the scholars to support his view, all while being brief and concise in his presentation. This is one of the celebrated works of Imaam Al-Albaanee that reflects his vast knowledge and high understanding.

We ask Allah to benefit the Muslims with this book, and to revive this important aspect of the Sunnah in the lands of the west.

If we assume that the Prophet’s Masjid wasn’t big enough for them, then surely they would have been able to pray in these other masaajid that existed (at the Prophet’s time), as the people do today. So their abandoning praying in these masaajid in favor of praying in the musallaa is a clear proof that the Sunnah is praying in the musallaa and not in the masjid. So the actual intent has been established and what they desired from negating (of this Sunnah) has been annulled.

So let’s say if we were to agree with them that the Prophet’s masjid was not big enough for the men and women, then this is the same case with our present-day masaajid in that not one of them is capable of holding all of those intending prayer. So what remains valid is the legality of going out to perform the prayer in the musallaa. This is the required outcome (from that argument). Furthermore, if according to them it is not correct for the menstruating

women to attend the masjid, then this is an acknowledgement on their part that it is correct for them to attend the musallaa. So when they require that the ‘Eid Prayer be performed in the masaajid, then this means that they are preventing these (menstruating) women from witnessing the good and the supplication of the Muslims! This is contrary to the command of Allah’s Messenger found in the hadeeth, which they attributed to Al-Bukhaaree, for the hadeeth is one of our proofs that indicate that the ‘Eid Prayer should be held in the musallaa and not in the masjid. This is because the masjid, no matter how big it is, is incapable of accommodating the attendance of all of the men and women in it, according to their own acknowledgement.

What further supports what we have stated above is that: If praying the two ‘Eids in the masjid were better than praying them in the musallaa, but the masjid was too small, the Prophet would have taken the necessary steps to expand it, just as some of the Khaleefahs after him did, for he has more right to expand it than them. So if the masjid wasn’t ample enough for it, but yet the Prophet left off expanding it, it is not possible to imagine this (i.e. that the masjid wasn’t ample enough), along with the view that praying in the masjid is superior to the musallaa. This is unless someone claims that there was something that prevented him from expanding it. But I don’t think a person of knowledge would have the nerve to make such a claim. Continue reading

Top 10 Reasons Why Jesus Christ Is Not God

http://islamfuture.files.wordpress.com/2010/06/top-10-reasons-why-jesus-christ-is-not-god.jpg?w=593

Joshua Evans

A marvelous episode from the Deenshow.com about the top ten reasons why Jesus (peace be upon him) is not a god. Brother Joshua Evans confirms that he can mention additional reasons along with what he said and that the reasons are not confined to these ten reasons. They are here in a descending order:

10- God cannot be born.
9- No explicit statement in which Jesus said, “I’m God” or “Worship me”.
8- No one can see God in this life.
7- Jesus never taught the Trinity.
6- God does not sleep, eat, drink, etc. Jesus slept, ate, drank, etc.
5- Jesus does not know everything.
4- Jesus explicitly states that he is not God.
3- The Bible does not call Jesus the son of God alone.
2- God cannot change. He is perfect.
1- God is the essence of the worship. He is the object of worship. Had Jesus been God, he would have told people to worship him. Truly, he did the exact opposite as in Matthew 15:9. Continue reading

Every Religious Innovation Is A Means Of Misguidance

http://islamfuture.files.wordpress.com/2010/06/every-religious-innovation-is-a-means-of-misguidance.jpg?w=450&h=395

AbdulRahman Bin Abdulkarim Al-Sheha
Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 49 | Size: 1 MB

All praise is due to Allah, Whose aid we implore, and Whose forgiveness, guidance, and protection against our own evil and sinful acts we seek. He whom Allah guides aright, none can lead astray; and whom He leads astray, none can guide aright. I testify that there is no true god worthy of being worshipped except Allah alone Who has no partner, and I testify that Muhammad (PBUH) is the slave of Allah, and His Messenger. May Allah exalt his mention and render him and his household, his Companions, and those who follow their way safe from every evil, and grant them security on the Day of Resurrection.

Matters pertaining to Deen must be accepted without the slightest doubt. Allah, the Exalted, says:

(And whatsoever the Messenger (Muhammad PBUH) gives you, take it, and whatsoever he forbids you, abstain (from it) and fear Allah. Verily, Allah is severe in punishment.) (59:7)

One must follow the guidance of the Prophet (PBUH) in these matters, and should not make ‘ijtihaad’ (i.e. to exert his effort to reach a ruling) in an issue that does not allow such. Allah, the Exalted, says:

(Say, “If you (really) love Allah then follow me, Allah will love you, and forgive your sins. And Allah is Oft- Forgiving, Most Merciful.)
(3:31)

One of the nullifiers of Iman (Faith) as stated by the Prophet (PBUH) is not following his guidance. The Prophet (PBUH) said:

‘None of you will believe, until his desires are in accordance with what I have been sent with.’ (Baihaqi)

The Muslim is required to abstain from falsely alleging an issue or matter as being part of the Deen; for this would indeed lead one astray, and eventually lead him to Hell. The Prophet (PBUH) said:

‘Whoever innovates a matter in the Deen which is not from it, it would be rejected.’ (Bukhari #2550)

Many who claim to be Muslims do acts of worship which contradict the teachings of Islam, or they practice certain innovated rites which have no base in the Deen of Allah; they follow their whims and desires. They are condemned by the words of Allah, the Exalted:

(Have you (O Muhammad) seen him who has taken as his ilah (god) his own desire? Would you then be a Wakil (a disposer of his affairs or a watcher) over him?).
(25:43) Continue reading

Silence Is Salvation

http://islamfuture.files.wordpress.com/2010/06/silence-is-salvation.jpg?w=593

Sheikh Riyadul Haqq

Allah & His Prophet (peace be upon him) love the excellent characteristic of remaining silent over vain speech and have exhorted the believers to adopt this exemplary trai. And indeed, one of the beautiful qualities of a believer is that he only speaks good otherwise he remains silent. Unfortunately, in this day and age, we have adopted an un-Islamic approach to this sphere of life and taken on board the maxim’… words will never hurt…’

As a result of this, we deem the deeds of the tongue as being insignificant in comparison to other deeds whereas the reality is that the tongue can lead one to paradise or hell. This talk also outlines the manner, conditions and circumstances in which we have been instructed to speak by the Quran and Sunnah. Continue reading

Anwar Al-Awlaki
Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 32 | Size: 1 MB

This book is extremely close to a word-by-word transcription of Imam Anwar al-Awlaki’s lecture. I have chosen to take out or add a few words – and not more than that – to smoothen the flow for the reader. I’ve also added many footnotes along the way to explain words, sentences, backgrounds, and adding daleel to what the speaker is saying. As you know and will find out in greater detail that this subject is one of extreme importance; so the footnotes, I felt, were absolutely necessary to further expand on the words of the speaker.

Anwar Al-Awlaki

Imam Anwar Al-Awlaki was born in New Mexico, USA. He studied the Islamic sciences of Quran, hadith, and fiqh with scholars from Yemen. Imam Anwar served as an Imam in Denver, Colorado; San Diego, Callifornia; and Falls Church, Virginia. He is the author of the audio series on “The Lives of the Prophets”, “The Hereafter”, “The Life and Time of Abu Bakr”, “The Life and Time of Umar” , “The Messenger of Allah” along with other single lectures. Imam Anwar also holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Colorado State University, and a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from San Diego State University. Currently he resides in Yemen. Verily The Victory Of Allah Is Near

http://islamfuture.files.wordpress.com/2010/06/verily-the-victory-of-allah-is-near.jpg?w=500&h=439

Shaykh Abdillah Sulaymān Ibn Nasir Ibn ‘Abdillah Al-‘Ulwan
Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 50 | Size: 1 MB

This small treatise from the noble Shaykh, Imām Sulaymān Ibn Nāsir Al-‘Ulwān, may Allāh free him, is both topical and relevant, concerning the current state of affairs which the Islāmic nation is now facing. And due to this fact, we found it beneficial for the many English speaking Muslims to read and perhaps learn and grasp its meanings. We have added several additional footnotes (with Trans. Note) in order to aid the translation, clarify certain points and lastly, to add additional evidences in order to make the issues that are raised, less ambiguous. We have also added an appendix to the text of the book with a short biographical account of the Shaykh and his background, in order to introduce the author to the English reader. We have summarized this from a larger treatise, which will be referenced in that section, In Shā’ Allāh. And we ask Allāh to accept this small effort from us and help it to benefit the young men and women of the Islāmic nation and be a source of inspiration for them upon the truth.

Many of the Islāmic peoples live in a variety of different countries and an array of cities within a heap of blunders and mischievous conduct with an exposure of their honour and a loss of their rights and property. And (they live among) confusions in their ideologies and in a scarcity and weakness of successes and attempts (to reform) and they are increasingly turning away with an outpouring of misguidance in belief (‘Aqīdah) and methodology (Manhaj) both in the political and economical life, during a time of the spreading of the calls of nationalism and the ideologies of secularism and the currents of atheism and the symbols of mysticism (Sūfiyyah) and idolatry. And this corruption has spread in their nation (Ummah) and many of them are submerged in that which harms him and does not benefit him. And he is unmindful of that which he was created for and his duty and his message in this life.

And in order to destroy this misguidance and these things that are worshipped besides Allāh and these traits of the Days of Ignorance (Jāhiliyyah) that are present everywhere, and these ideas which oppose the Sharī’ah and these institutions that are astray from Legislation of Allāh, it is a must to return to Islām in its established form, including the submission to Allāh with Tawhīd and obedience to Him with devotion while being free from Shirk and its people and ruling with the Legislation of Allāh in His Earth with sincerity towards Him with one’s actions.

So this is the basis of Tawhīd and without it, there is no meaning for life. Allāh, the Most High said:

وَمَا خَلَقۡتُ ٱلۡجِنَّ وَٱلۡإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعۡبُدُونِ

And I (Allāh) created not the Jinns and humans except they should worship Me (Alone). [Ath-Thāriyāt, 56]

In other words, to make Him One. And the Tawhīd is the basis of the religion (Dīn) and its foundation. And it is the reality, which the People of Truth must not take any path in turning away from it, (including) the establishment of its rights and confronting the societies with it. And this is the (proper) institution of the world and it is the Message of the Muslims to all of the nations and peoples. He, the Most High said:

Say: “O people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians): Come to a word that is equal between us and you, that we worship none but Allāh, and that we associate no partners with Him, and that none of us shall take others as lords besides Allāh. Then, if they turn away, then say: “Bear witness that we are Muslims.” [Āl ‘Imrān, 64] Continue reading

This is a summary of what we believe in and what we worship Allāh with from the most important areas of the dīn. I wrote it in my jail cell after it had reached me that there were some people who were ascribing things to us and putting words in our mouths that we have never said; in particular, in the areas of kufr and imān. Before this, I was never concerned with writing about the likes of this subject. That is because our scholars have sufficed and fulfilled in that. Continue reading

God In Christianity What Is His Nature

This Is Our Call

http://islamfuture.files.wordpress.com/2010/06/this-is-our-call.jpg?w=450&h=395

Imaam Al- Albaanee
Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 21 | Size: 1 MB

This is a translated transcription of a lecture delivered by Imaam Al- Albaanee (rahimahullaah) that was recorded and distributed under the title “Hadhihi Da’watunaa” (This is Our Call). The present translation was translated directly from the Arabic audio. In this lecture, Imaam Al-Albaanee explains the basis of the Salafee Manhaj, which is following the way, understanding and practical application of the Salaf, who were namely the first three generations of Muslims: The Sahaabah, Taabi’een and Atbaa’ at-Taabi’een. They are the ones referred to in the Prophet’s saying: “The best of mankind is my generation, then those that come after them, then those that come after them.” This is the basis that distinguishes the true call to Islaam from all other false and erroneous calls, regardless if they claim to be “upon the Qur’aan and the Sunnah.” Al- Albaanee goes into depth discussing this fact, that one cannot truly understand and apply the Qur’aan and Sunnah unless he follows the understanding and application of the Salaf. We ask Allaah to accept this effort and benefit the Muslims with it. Continue reading

The Life Of This World Is A Transient Shade

This is a concise book on the transient nature of this world; beautified for us by the things we covet, women, children, and wealth in general. These passing pleasures and temporary joys are made insignificant by Allah when he describes to us the extreme beauty of the home of the Hereafter in the Quran. This book is therefore a brief reminder and a source of strength for those who are true in faith, word and deed. Continue reading

Is The Trinity Doctrine Divinely Inspired

http://islamfuture.files.wordpress.com/2010/06/is-the-trinity-doctrine-divinely-inspired.jpg?w=450&h=395

M. A. C. Cave
Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 48 | Size: 1 MB

This publication, “Is the TRINITY DOCTRINE Divinely Inspired?”, should serve as food for thought to every right minded person and the followers of Modern Christianity. The concept of the Trinity has baffled every Christian denomination. Although Mr. M. A. C. Cave was a Christian who believed in the Trinity before, when he carried-out his research into the origin of this doctrine, he discovered to his utter amazement that it was a later development conceived and engineered by various Christian writers and thinkers. Mr. M. A. C. Cave builds up evidence that the Trinity is nothing but a man- made doctrine that falls short of being a revelation from God. Subsequently, this tailor-made doctrine lost its angularity on account of built-in contradictions and proved thorny on the side of Christian hierarchy in general and the clergy in particular who are trying to prop it up. It is unacceptable on the part of the right thinking person to hold to this dogma inspite of all its flaws. Man being rational, he should be more critical of issues of spiritual aspect which are vital to his life. He should attempt to peep into others religious scriptures around for a convincing truth. And, he should not let himself be a victim of complacency and blindfaith as in the past. Try to reflect on the verses of the Scriptures.

I appeal to the reader to examine this book with an unbiased mind and open heart to the truth because this is the only way that may lead to the right decision that shapes one’s life in this world and the world to come. Continue reading

What Is Islam

http://islamfuture.files.wordpress.com/2010/06/what-is-islam.jpg?w=500&h=439

Jamaal al Din M. Zarabozo
Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 178 | Size: 2.4 MB

This book explains basic introduction to the fundamental beliefs and practices of the Islamic faith. An attempt has been made to be as concise as possible, but with the hope that the reader will be encouraged to study Islam in more depth.

Introduction

The Goal and Motivation for Writing this Book

The Goal and Motivation for Writing this Book This is a very important time for the publishing of clear and concise material about Islam. Today, Islam is often pictured in a very unflattering manner in many parts of the world—not much different than it was in the not-so-distant past. A Western author writing about the life of Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) wrote.

When the war blazed up between Islam and Christianity, lasting for ages, animosity grew severe between the two sides; and each side misunderstood the other one. It should be admitted, however, that the basic misunderstanding was more on the part of the westerners than the easterners. In fact, immediately after such violent intellectual disputes — in which argumentative debaters overloaded Islam with vices, degradation and abasement without taking the trouble to study it — mercenary writers and paid-poets set out to attack the Arabs, but their attack was a merely false, contradictory accusation.

There is no need to go into details but today such misunderstandings concerning Islam have continued from all sorts, including some public and church leaders in the West.

Unfortunately, since many of the masses are unfamiliar with Islam beyond what they see in the mass media—which of course recently has been filled with a terrorist taint—it is not surprising that such misrepresentations of Islam resonate with the public as a whole.1 The easiest and probably the most productive cure for this situation is by reaching out to those people and allowing them to hear what Islam is truly all about. One must go beyond the hype and get to the true authentic teachings of the religion. (Unfortunately, it is also a sad state of affairs that today one must also go beyond the picture that the Muslims themselves give non-Muslims of Islam. Although, in general, Christianity or Judaism is not blamed for the misdeeds of Christians or Jews, today Islam is still often blamed for the misdeeds of Muslims, even when the practices of such Muslims clearly violate the tenets of Islam.)

Unfortunately, today the negative views and misrepresentations of Islam are not simply an issue of one’s personal religious beliefs. The ramifications have gone far beyond that and touch upon the security and politics of the world as a whole. Most harmful though is that as Islam is misunderstood and continually painted as the “other” and a source of evil, many are closed off to its beauty and its priceless truths that it has to offer to humankind. In reality, in these troubled times, there is a great need to turn to the guidance from God, which is exactly what Islam is all about.

The goal here is not to deal with the misinformation that is being spread about Islam. The goal here is simply to present what Islam truly is, based on the original and universally recognized sources of Islam:The Quran—or, in other words, the book revealed from Allah (God) to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)—as well as the words and guidance of the Prophet himself. Islam Is Your Birthright

http://islamfuture.files.wordpress.com/2010/06/islam-is-your-birthright.jpg?w=450&h=395

Majed S. Al-Rassi – Dr. Bilal Philips
Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 55 | Size: 1 MB

Islam Is Your Birthright: Each person is born in a religious environment that is not of his/her own choice. From the very beginning of human existence in this world, they are assigned the religion of their family or the ideology of the state. By the time individuals reach their teens they usually accept the beliefs of their parents or that of their particular society. However, when some people mature and are exposed to other beliefs and ideologies, they begin to question the validity of their own beliefs, and search for the truth.

However, when some people mature and are exposed to other beliefs and ideologies, they begin to question the validity of their own beliefs. Seekers of truth often reach a point of confusion upon realizing that believers of every religion, sect, ideology and philosophy all claim to have the one and only correct religion or ideology. There are only three possibilities. They are either all correct; all wrong or only one is correct and the rest are wrong. They cannot all be right since all religions are differen  from each other in their fundamentals. Furthermore, the majority claim that they alone are correct and the rest are wrong. On the other hand, to claim that they are all wrong is to deny that God revealed His will to humankind.

This proposition is absurd to those who believe in a Wise Creator. So, which religion is the right one and how can the seeker of truth know it? This is the subject of the booklet in your hands.

In beginning one’s search for which religion is true, one should keep four things in mind: First, God gave us the ability and intellect to make the crucial decision: WHAT IS THE TRUE RELIGION? Second, God, the Most Compassionate, did not leave us to go astray without any guidance. Indeed, He sent us prophets with scriptures to show us the right path. Third, seeking the true religion should be the most important thing in one’s life because the everlasting life to come depends on it.1 Fourth, one can determine the true path and make a rational and correct decision only if emotions and prejudices, which often blind one to reality, are put aside. The Arabic word Islam literally means ‘surrender’ or ‘submission.’ Islam, as a faith, means total and sincere surrender to God so that one can live in peace and tranquility. Peace (Salam in Arabic, Shalom in Hebrew) is achieved through active obedience to the revealed commandments of God, for God is The Just, The Peace. The name Islam is universal in meaning. Islam is not named after a tribe of people or an individual, as Judaism is named after the tribe of Judah, Christianity after Christ and Buddhism after Buddha. Islam is not a name chosen by human beings; it was divinely communicated from God. Islam is a global faith, not of the East or the West. Islam is a complete way of life, implying total submission to God. One who surrenders his or her will to God, voluntarily, is called a Muslim. It was not Muhammad (SAW) but Adam (S.A) who first brought Islam to humanity. Then, each Prophet and Messenger came to exhort the people to a clear understanding of God’s commandments. They offered teachings relevant to that time, until God chose the final Prophet, Muhammad (SAW), to come with the Last Testament referred to as the Qur’an. Allah is an Arabic word, meaning ‘The One and Only True Deity’, the proper name of The One who created the heavens and the earth. Arabic-speaking Jews and Christians also call God by the name Allah. For a Muslim, Allah is the greatest and most inclusive of names for God, denoting The One who is adored in worship, The One who created all that exists. Continue reading

“Terrorism” is of two kinds: terrorism that is evil based upon wicked tyrannical acts, and terrorism that is good and desired based on necessary and justified acts. The terrorism that is evil is injustice, double standards, tyranny, and aggression, in all the hateful connotations that these words imply. It targets women and children, civilians and noncombatants, trying to force defeat and difficult political decisions by spreading terror. This kind is what most people immediately think about when hearing the word terrorism. Often people associate it with what they have been preconditioned to picture by various government agencies and segments of the mass media. Muslims are routinely portrayed as terrorists even though many are either totally innocent of the charge or are more innocent than many of their antagonists who aggress against them. “Muslim terrorism” is a media and think tank byword, even though one would be hard pressed to find the equivalent term of Jewish, Christian, Hindu or Buddhist terrorism in usage. Certain institutions and individuals – with known agendas and backings – have been instrumental in fabricating and perpetuating misinformation, exaggeration, and previously disqualified and refuted misunderstandings and slanders. This book is the answer to a question raised by a skeptical youth who delved into the ocean of some books in his summer holiday and his Aqeeda was affected. His mind, in turn, became blurred and he was unable to differentiate between right and wrong or between truth and falsehood. Thereupon he asked me “where is God and who created ‘Him’?” The answer came from the pulpit of the mosque of Shabkhun (Musil-Iraq) through delivering four sermons (Khutba) which received the approbation of the majority of those who listened to them. Some of them have suggested that they should be compiled and printed in the form of a message to introduce it to those who did not have the opportunity to hear them. With the help of Allah, this have been done. The first edition was printed in Musil. The second in Baghdad, the third in Lahore. It was translated into Kurdish, and will be translated into Urdu, Bulgarian and other languages. This fourth edition is revised and includes some additions. I hope that Allah allows it to be of benefit for all people and make it purely for His sake, He is Ever-Hearing, Ever- Answerer.

If words have any meaning, do we need to add another word of comment to prove our case? No! But the professional propagandists, after letting the cat out of the bag, still have the face to try to make their readers believe that they have proved beyond the shadow of any doubt that the Bible is the “irrefragable Word of God.” Their semantic gymnastics – equivocating, and playing with words – is amazing. In this book Ahmad deedat takes a critical look at bible text and highlights the many contradictions, additions and deleted verses therein. Continue reading

Almost everyone on the earth today is discussing Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him. People want to know, “Who was he exactly?” “What did he teach?” “Why was he loved so much by some and hated so much by others?” “Did he live up to his claims?” “Was he a holy man? “Was he a prophet of God?” “What is the truth about this man – Muhammad?”

How can we discover the truth and be totally honest in our judgment?
We will begin with the very simple historical evidences, facts as narrated by thousands of people, many of whom knew him personally. The following is based on books, manuscripts, texts and actual eyewitness accounts, too numerous list herein, yet all have been preserved in original form throughout the centuries by both Muslims and non-Muslims.

Muhammad ibn (son of) Abdullah ibn (son of) Abdul Mutalib, was born in the year 570 C.E. (Christian Era) in Makkah, Felix Arabia (today: Saudi Arabia) and he died in 633 C.E. in Yathrib (today: Madinah, Saudi Arabia).

His names: When he was born, his grandfather, Abdul Mutalib, gave him the name Muhammad. And it means “praised one” or “praising one.” He was later called “As-Saddiq” (the Truthful) by all of those who knew of his truthful and honest nature. He always said only the truth. He was also called “Al – Alamin” (the Trustworthy) due to his integrity and always upholding any trust given to him. When the tribes were battling against each other, both sides would entrust him with their possessions during the fighting, even if it might be against some of his own tribesmen, because they knew he would always uphold any trust given to him. All of his names indicated the very nature of a man who was praised for his honesty, integrity and trustworthiness. He was also well known for advocating the reconciliation of kinship and relationships. He ordered his followers to always honor the “ties of the wombs” (siblings and other close relatives).

This fits right in with the prophecy mentioned in the Bible in the Book of John in chapters 14 and 16, as the coming of a prophet known as the “Spirit of Truth” or “Comforter” or “Advocate.

Born as a descendent of Abraham, peace be upon him, through his first born son, Ishmail (Ismail in Arabic), peace be upon him, to the noble tribe of the Quraish who were the leaders of Makkah in those days. Muhammad’s blood line traces directly back to Abraham, peace be upon him.

This could certainly point to fulfillment of Old Testament (Torah) prophecies in Deuteronomy (chapter 18:15) of a prophet, like unto Moses from “their brethren.”

He insisted on keeping the Commandments of Almighty God, just as his great grandfathers and prophets of old had done in the past (peace be upon them). Here is a statement from Muhammad, peace be upon him, while the Quran was being revealed to him by the angel Gabriel;

“Come, I will recite what your Lord has prohibited you from: Join not anything in worship with Him; be good and dutiful to your PARENTS; do not kill your children because of poverty – (Allah) provide sustenance for you and for them; do not come near to Al-Fawahish (shameful sins, illegal sexual intercourse, etc.) whether committed openly or secretly, and kill not anyone whom Allah has forbidden, except for a just cause. This He has commanded you that you may understand.” [Holy Quran 6:151]

Muhammad, peace be upon him, lived in total commitment to the belief that God (Allah in Arabic) was truly One God, and as such, He was to be worshipped alone, without any other “gods” beside Him. This is the very first commandment in the Old Testament (Exodus chapter 20 and Deuteronomy, chapter 5) and in the New Testament as well (Mark, chapter 12, verse 29).

Muhammad, peace be upon him, ordered his followers to obey Allah Almighty, following the true Commandments as were revealed to him by the angel Gabriel from Almighty Allah. Read below, one of many similar statements from the Quran:

Surely, Allah Commands absolute justice and steadfast commitment to performing your duties to Almighty Allah, in total sincerity and giving help to relatives: and He forbids evil, and disobedience and all that is prohibited by Allah (such as; illegal sexual acts, disobedience of PARENTS, polytheism, to tell lies, to give false witness, to kill a life without right, etc.), and (He Forbids) any evil (i.e. all that is prohibited by God’s Law, such as: polytheism of every kind, disbelief and every kind of evil deeds, etc.), and all kinds of oppression, He admonishes you, that you may take heed. [Holy Quran 16:90]

Muhammad, peace be upon him, never fell into the common practice of his tribesmen to worship statues, idols or man-made “gods.” He forbid his followers to ever engage in worship outside of the One True God (Allah) of Adam, Abraham, Moses and all the prophets, peace be upon them all.

And the people of the Scripture Jews and Christians did not differed amongst themselves until after there came to them clear evidence. And they were commanded only to worship Allah, and worship none but Him Alone (no gods beside God), and perform prayers and give charity: and that is the right religion. [Holy Quran 98:4-5]

He despised false worship to any man-made gods or images or anything in creation as a god. He hated all of the complexities and degradation to which it leads.

This is in direct obedience to the second commandment in the above mentioned verses, “Thou shalt not make any graven images.”

Muhammad, peace be upon him, ordered men to “provide and protect” women, whether it was their own mother, sister, wife or daughter or even those of others, whether they were Muslims or not.

“Men are the protectors and maintainers of women, because Allah has made one of them to excel the other, and because they spend (to support the women) from their means. Therefore the righteous women are devoutly obedient (to Allah and to their husbands), and guard in the husband’s absence what Allah orders them to guard (e.g. their chastity, their husband’s property, etc.). As to those women on whose part you see ill-conduct, admonish them, refuse to share their beds, startle them (set forth a clear example or parable for them, to make clear the point of what is going on before divorcing them) so if they return to proper obedience (to Allah and their husbands), do not annoy them any further. Surely, Allah is Ever Most High, Most Great.” [Holy Quran 4:34]

Muhammad, peace be upon him, never drank alcohol or strong drink, even though it was a very normal thing for people of his time and place.

“O you believers! Intoxicating drinks, gambling, fortune telling, etc. is the hated work of the devil. So stay away from all of that horrible stuff, that you will be successful.”
“The devil only wants to create hatred between you with intoxicants (alcoholic drinks, etc.) and gambling and to keep you from the remembrance of Allah and from your proper worship (prayers). So, why won’t you away from them?” [Holy Quran 5:90-91]

The Arabs, like most other cultures at his time, drank alcohol without concern for their health or for their altered behavior while intoxicated. Many of them were alcoholics.

In today’s world there is little need to present long discussions on the evil and dangers of drinking alcohol. Besides causing diseases and ruining a person’s health, alcohol is often attributed to be the cause of many traffic accidents resulting in property damage, injuries and deaths. The first order was for the followers of Muhammad, peace be upon him, to leave off drinking while engaged in worship, then came stronger orders to leave drinking all together. Thus, offering a time for the early Muslims to break off from their addiction to strong drink. Continue reading

…And Muhammad Is The Messenger Of Allah (SWT)

…And Muhammad Is The Messenger of Allah: An examination of the finality of prophethood.

Indeed, All Praise belongs to Allah. We praise Allah, we seek his assistance and we beg for his forgiveness. We seek refuge with Allah from the evil of our own selves and from the evil of our deeds. Whomsoever Allah guides, no one can mislead and whomsoever Allah allows to go astray, none can guide. I bare witness and give open testimony that there is nothing worthy of worship except Allah, who has no associates and I bare witness that Muhammad is His Servant and His Messenger. To proceed:

Allah (SWT) says;

Say: “If you (really) love Allah then follow me (i.e. accept Islamic Monotheism, follow the Qur’an and the Sunnah), Allah will love you and forgive you of your sins. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” (Noble Qur’an 3:31)

Allah, Mighty and Majestic, explains in the Qur’an that any profession of love for Him can only be substantiated by following the last Messenger whom He has sent to humanity. The proof of one’s love for Allah is in the belief and the acceptance of Muhammad ibn ‘Abdillah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) as the last messenger of Allah and in following him in matters of faith, worship, and methodology. Within this framework is the belief which everyone who professes to be a Muslim should adhere to and that is the concept of the finality of revelation, Prophethood, and Messengership. This entails that the religion of Islam was completed and perfected 1400 years ago with the commissioning of Muhammad ibn ‘Abdillah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) as a Prophet by Allah and that with his departure to the mercy of Allah, the conclusion of all divine revelation. It is sad to note, however, that despite the clarity of this matter as addressed by Allah, Glorified is He, in His Noble Qur’an and the clarity with which the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) spoke about this concept, many people throughout the years since the final revelation have claimed some form of special ‘commission’ from Allah. There have been those from past generations as well as those of recent times up until today who twist the concepts of nubuwwah (Prophethood) and rasaalah (Messengership) to include themselves as recipients of some form of wahy (revelation). It is equally as sad to acknowledge that some of these charlatans have influenced a number of people who identify themselves as Muslims to allow themselves to be consumed by this false and dangerous notion. Some claimants are more obviously false than others. Some, however, are so subtle in their dispensation of these ideas that even those Muslims who consciously adhere to the belief of the finality of Prophethood may find themselves dangerously close to kufr by following one who implies that the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) did not complete his mission, hence, the need for Islam to be ‘modified’ by additions and subtractions.
