A brief book on the two Holy Mosques in Saudi Arabia, the Holy Mosque in Makkah is the most revered place of worship for Muslims around the world. At the center of the Mosque is the Ka’aba, which literally means ‘cube’ in Arabic. All Muslims are required to face in the direction of the Ka’aba five times every day when offering their prayers. The Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah is the second most revered place of worship for Muslims around the world. Millions of Muslims visit the Mosque each year, to worship, to visit the Prophet’s grave, and to see the city that gave birth to Islam. Continue reading

Forgotten – Muslims Of Burma

http://futureislam.files.wordpress.com/2012/07/forgotten-muslims-of-burma.jpg?w=450&h=395

IIH Report
Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 22 | Size: 3 MB

The Muslims of Burma have been facing such oppression and savagery for the past two months never previously witnessed in the history of mankind. Mercilessly burning children, women and men like toasting sheep on fire is not only against every known law but something no man with any conscious can ever accept but unfortunately the Muslims of Burma are targets of such a gross crime. Not only that, but they are also being expelled from their lands, forcefully ejected from their homes, their wealth is being usurped! and their honor looted while the whole world turns a blind eye to their plight.

This report elaborates on violence that broke out in Arakan in June 2012, the background of the violent incidents and rights violations against Arakanese Muslims. The objective of this report is to bring to the public opinion developments in the region, inform the Islamic world and international community, and urge decisionmaking bodies to take necessary steps to end escalating acts of violence in Arakan.

Incidents deemed humiliating to human dignity have been going on in Arakan for long years. Recent clashes have left more than 1,000 Muslims dead and over 90,000 Muslims homeless. Most of the Arakanese fleeing violence are seeking refuge in camps in neighboring Bangladesh. However, faced with unimaginably inhumane conditions at these camps Arakanese Muslims are losing hopes for a better future. Kala, a 75-year-old Arakanese refugee who has been in these camps for long years, describes refugees’ despair: “We are waiting for death that will relieve us of our suffering.” To make the matters more tragic, Bangladesh not only has been denying refugees that have been coming since June entry into the country but also returning those who arrived in the camps in the past years.

This report on the ongoing violence in Arakan has been prepared using interviews with refugees who fled Arakan and sought shelter in different countries, information provided by human rights organizations, and 14-year-long experience of IHH in the region. Continue reading

The Rise And Fall Of The Ummah

Lyrics:

The catastrophe became eminent in 1924
The might of Islam’s Khilafah was no more
The world cornered the Muslims after depleting our core
They took out their militaries and came knocking on our doors
They then began to invade our countries from every shore
They taught us nationalism, tribalism and our unity was out the door
They made us pledge to useless flags and brought their kufr to our lands
They showed us their culture and we became instant fans
We abandoned our religion and so Allah abandoned us
We broke our deal with Allah within our mutual trust
We were supposed to remain obedient and in Allah place our trust
But we fell into sins and were betrayed by our lust
Allah sent us a Messenger who taught us success:
To aim for Jannah and love this dunya much less
But we took the blessings of honor and power for granted
So when we strayed from Islam, a wake-up call we were handed
The troops of the devil in our nations quickly landed
To colonize the Muslims, with their kufr so candid
But we still didn’t learn and so soon we became related
They were far from Allah and Islam is what they hated
We, too loved this Dunya, and our Iman had long faded
We didn’t realize that the gates of Jannah are gated
Earning Jannah means putting desires to the side
If we expect the gates of Paradise to open for us wide
But since we abandoned Allah and forgot our religion
Allah says Be and so He carries out His decision
The worst amongst us were made to lead us
But they, too were oppressors and didn’t even feed us
Allah withdrew our Khilafah and woke us up to a reality
That our success is with Allah and not with ethnic principalities
That we need to put our ethnicities and worldly love to the side
And hold firmly to the rope of Allah, not swimming with the tide
Our return to success as an Ummah resides
In following the Prophets’ and Sahaba’s lives
In learning about and adhering sternly to the Qur’an and the Sunnah
And implementing Allah’s laws collectively as an Ummah
To rise back to the top, we must return to our Deen
Beginning with our own individual beings
Then move onto our families, communites, and nations
Establishing with Allah the best of relations
So let’s invest in the Aakhira instead of over-enjoying life
And be prepared for this means considerable strife
The hatred from the mouths of the kuffar continues to emanate
The time is for Jihad, and Salam to the Believers who participate
Allah’s Messenger, Sal-Allahu Alayhi wa Sallam said
That the Kuffar would attack and Muslim blood would be shed
Because we’re obsessed with the Dunya and abandoned Jihad
That we love this life and would hate to be dead
And until we return to our Deen, this condition remains
That we stand humiliated until we rethink our aims
We are here to establish Islam on this Earth
So by the Will of Allah, let’s give Islam a rebirth! Continue reading

Toward The Light

Imam Hassan Al Banna

The most dangerous period in the life of a nation, and the most deserving of critical study, is the period of transition from one situation to another. It is then that plans for the new period are laid and its guiding principles and policies are drawn up, according to which, the nation will be formed and towhich it will adhere. If these plans, principles, and policies are clear cut, sound, and solid, then announce for this nation of a long and extended life, of prosperous and flourishing work. Inform them of success and give them glad tidings of a great reward, eternal fame, the just verdict of history, and a good reputation.

This important task poses two conditions: The first is to liberate the nation from its political bonds so that it may obtain its freedom and regain its lost independence and sovereignty. The second is its reconstruction, so that it may follow its own path among other nations and compete with them in its progress toward social perfection. For the time being, the political struggle has come to a halt, and you, along with the nation, are facing a new period. You will now see two ways before you, each one urging you to turn the nation in its direction and to follow its path . Each has its particular characteristics, its distinguishing features, its effects, its results, its advocates and its promoters. The first is the way of Islam and its principles, its rules, its culture and its civilization; the second is the way of the West and the outward aspects of its life, its organization and its methods. It is our belief that the first way, the way of Islam, its principles and rules, is the only way which ought to be followed, and towards which the present and future nation should direct itself.

If we take the nation along this path, we shall be able to obtain many benefits, among them is the Islamic methodology which has already been experienced and history has testified as to its soundness. It has produced for the benefit of mankind a nation, most powerful and virtuous, most merciful, and righteous, blessed above all other nations. It possesses a sanctity and stability in the minds of men which makes it easy for all to adopt and understand, to respond to, as well as to adhere to, once they are properly oriented to it. Add to that national self esteem and sincere patriotism. For then we will construct our lives on our own rules and principles, taking nothing from others. Herein lie the highest ideals of a social and active independence, after political independence.

To take this course, will firstly mean a strengthening of Arab unity, and secondly, a strengthening of Islamic unity. The entire Islamic world will support with its heart and soul. They will see us as Brothers, and we will stand behind and support each other. And herein lies a great moral advantage which no intelligent person will shun.

This course is complete and comprehensive, and guarantees a nation the best system of organization for public life, both practical and spiritual. This is the advantage that distinguishes Islam, for it bases the organization of the life of a nation on two important pillars: the adherence to good, and the avoidance of that which is harmful. An Explanation Of Riyadh Al-Saliheen From The Words Of The Master Of The Messengers

http://islamfuture.files.wordpress.com/2010/06/an-explanation-of-riyadh-al-saliheen.jpg?w=500&h=439

Imam Nawawi; Shaykh Muhammad ibn Salih al-Uthaymeen
Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 307 | Size: 12.5 MB

A comprehensive explanation and commentary of the first 24 hadith of Imam al-Nawawi’s classic compilation, Riyadh al-Saliheen.

Verily all Praise is for Allah, we praise Him, we seek His assistance, and we appeal for His forgiveness. We seek refuge in Allah from the evil of our souls, and from the evil of our actions. Whosoever Allah guides, there is none to lead him astray, and whosoever Allah leads astray, there is none to guide him.

I bear witness that there is no deity worthy of being worshipped except Allah alone, without [any form] of associate. I testify that Muhammad is His Slave and Messenger, Seal of the Prophets, and Master of the Messengers. He is His proof upon His entire creation.

Allah the Most High sent him with the True Religion and the Straight Path. He fashioned his Vocation, universal and absolute until the Day of Judgement. May the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his family.

Verily Allah the Exalted, the Most High, sent His Messenger Muhammad (PBUH) with the Guidance, and revealed upon him al-Qur’an. A complete constitution for this eternal Ummah, until Allah inherits the earth and that which is upon it.

He bestowed upon him the interpretation of al-Qur’an and something comparable to it, with it.

For the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) is composed of statement and action, it is derived from the Book of Allah, and is indicative of its meaning.

The Companions of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) promptly seized the Noble Book and the Purified Sunnah, safeguarding, studying and recording [the two sources of revelation].

Allah obligated Himself the task of protecting and preserving His Honoured Book. He appointed for the Prophetic tradition, those who would protect and devote their attention to it, from the time of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) to our time now, and until Allah inherits the earth and that which is upon it.

By the providence/ of Allah, the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) has occupied the platform of patronage and concern by the Scholars in every age and land. Hence, they have completed the preservation, recording and codification [of the Sunnah] [by means of] the works of Musnad, the authentic compilations, the works of Sunan, and the Hadeeth based lexicons. From amongst those who have participated in this noble service of the Sunnah and it’s codification is Imam Abu Zakariyyah Yahya ibn SharafAl-Nawawee Al-Dimashqee [631-676 H]. He is reckoned to be amongst the exemplary and distinguished personalities of the seventh century. He authored numerous books of great benefit in miscellaneous subjects, ubiquitously accredited with praise and eulogy for their immense value.

Accordingly, the Scholars devoted themselves to their study, deriving benefit, and transmitting from them by virtue of their utility. Amongst the most ubiquitous in presence and apparent in circulation, between the Scholars’ and the general populace, is the book [entitled] Riyadh al- Saliheen. Continue reading

Mother’s Day A Historical Overview And The Scholars’ Rulings On This Holiday

Praise be to Allaah and blessings and peace be upon the Messenger of Allah.

The Prophet (PBUH) told us that his Ummah (nation) would follow the previous nations, the Jews, Christians and Persians, but this was undoubtedly not praise for their actions, and rather it is by way of condemnation and a warning. It was narrated from Abu Sa’eed (RA) that the Prophet (PBUH) said:

“You will certainly follow the ways of those who came before you, handspan by handspan, cubit by cubit, until even if they entered the hole of a lizard, you will do so too.” We asked, “O Messenger of Allaah, (do you mean) the Jews and the Christians?” He said, “Who else?”
(Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 3269; Muslim, 2669).

It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah (RA) that the Prophet (PBUH) said:

“The Hour will not begin until my Ummah follows in the footsteps of those who came before it, handspan by handspan, cubit by cubit.” It was asked, “O Messenger of Allah, like the Persians and Romans?” He said, “Those are the people?”
(Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 6888).

The ignorant among this Ummah, and the innovators and heretics have followed the previous nations, the Jews, Christians and Persians, in their Beliefs, ways, manners and dress. Our concern here is to point out in these days their following and imitation of them through the innovation of “Mother’s Day” or “Family Day”, which is a day that the Christians innovated to honour mothers, or so they claim. This then Became a day that was venerated, when government departments would be shut and people would get in touch with their mothers or send them gifts and loving messages. But when the day was over, things would go back to the way they were, with people being cut off from their mothers and disobeying them.

What is strange is that the Muslims would feel a need to imitate them in such ways, when Allaah has commanded them to honour their mothers and has forbidden them to disobey them, and has made the reward for that (for obeying them) the highest status. Continue reading

Causes That Aid In The Memorization Of The Qur’an

http://islamfuture.files.wordpress.com/2010/06/causes-that-aid-in-the-memorization-of-the-qur-an.jpg?w=450&h=396

Shaykh Mahmood al-Misri (Abu ‘Ammar)

Indeed, the Noble Qur’aan is the Book of Allaah which is the Seal of all the Scriptures… it is the course for a complete life that ensures prosperity and happiness for the servant in this life and in the Hereafter. It is the inimitable Word of Allaah that is not approached by falsehood neither from before it nor from behind it.

Before the advent of the Prophet (sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam), Mankind was in the darkness of shirk and kufraan (disbelief) until the Messenger (sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam) came with the Book of Allaah ‘azza wa jall, to take this entire universe out from this darkness into the lights of Tawheed and Imaan – and for this reason, Allaah subhaanahu wa ta’aala has said about this great Book,

“…(This is) a Book which We have revealed unto you in order that you might lead mankind out of darkness into light by their Lord’s Leave to the Path of the All-Mighty, the Owner of all Praise.” [Ibrahim: 1]

So this Ummah (Nation) turned around with this Book and turned away from shirk and jahiliyyah (ignorance) towards guidance and tawheed, away from the worship of creation to the worship of the Lord of creation and went from being an Ummah that lived along the margins of life to one that took leadership over Mankind and steered it towards the success of both worlds.

The Noble Qur’aan came to train up an Ummah, to produce a society and to build a wellfunctioning system… this training requires a portion of time and it needs to have an effect. It needs to act upon a Word and it needs to have a movement that expresses these actions and effects into a visible reality for the people.

Contemplate over the saying of ‘Aisha (radi’Allaahu ‘anhaa) when she was asked about the Prophet (sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam), she said – as is narrated in Sahih Muslim – “His character was the Qur’aan.”

So whoever wishes to take on the character of the Prophet (sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam), then he needs to take hold of the Qur’aan and the Sunnah of the leader of Mankind (sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam). Continue reading

How Similar Is Today To Yesterday

http://islamfuture.files.wordpress.com/2010/06/how-similar-is-today-to-yesterday.jpg?w=450&h=397

Dr. Raghib As-Sirjani
Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 39 | Size: 1 MB

In the previous lectures, we spoke about the story of the Tattār from the beginning until [the battle of] ‘Ayn Jālūt. We mentioned details from it, and we omitted others. And what we omitted was only due to the lack of time and out of fear of being lengthy. Otherwise, my brothers and sisters, the story truly requires multiples of [the time it was given] so that it may be analyzed with care and studied with precision. But, after this story, we must pause. We did not narrate this story solely for the purpose of chronicling the events of the Earth that have passed. Nor for the sake of speculation and analysis, without concern or pause. We narrated the story, as we mentioned in the beginning of the lectures, as a lesson, to ponder over it, to benefit. We narrated the story to read into the future. Subhān Allāh, how similar is today to yesterday!

How similar is the fall of Baghdād under the feet of the Americans to the fall of Baghdād under the feet of the Tattār. How similar are the Muslims in the time of the Tattār to the Muslims of today. How similar are the rulers of the Muslims in the time of the Tattār to the rulers of the Muslims today. How similar are the Tattār to the Americans. How similar are the allies of the Tattār to the allies of the Americans. A picture of history that has repeated itself in a strange way. And the examples of such a picture are many throughout history, but we will tie this story to our present reality. And if we wanted to speak about other pictures in areas of Islāmic history specifically or areas of human history generally, we will find that many of the pictures can be compared with our present reality now.

And look at the closeness of the first fall of Baghdād to the second fall of Baghdād. The Tattār appeared suddenly on the stage of [world] events, exactly just as the Americans appeared. A nation without a history. It was established through looting and plundering. The Tattār killed millions of innocent people so that they may establish their nation upon the skulls of mankind, and so that their civilization – if it can be called civilization – may drink from the blood of millions, from the blood of the oppressed. The Americans did likewise. The Americans killed hundreds of thousands, rather millions, from the Native Americans, so they could establish a nation for themselves. They plundered the resources of others and established what they also call their civilization, also upon the torn-off limbs and skulls of the original inhabitants. And the days passed, and the Americans became [the dominant force] on the earth, exactly as the Tattār did. And they could never accept another, and implanted oppression and subjugation and violence on the Earth, with their continued claim that they did not come except to spread justice and freedom and security amongst the people. This is what the Tattār did, and this is what the Americans do.

How similar is the Tattār’s table of negotiations to the Americans’ table of negotiations. Covenants with no conscience. Agreements and no trust. Empty words spoken into the air, to pacify the people for a time, and to fool people for a time. The determination to break the covenant is concealed before the entering into the covenant, and the intention is made before the meeting to defame the other side. Continue reading

The Shiites And Al-Aqsa Mosque

http://islamfuture.files.wordpress.com/2010/06/the-shiites-and-al-aqsa-mosque.jpg?w=450&h=395

Tariq Ahmad Hijazi
Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 53 | Size: 1 MB

Perhaps some people will disapprove that we write about the position that Aqsa Mosque occupies in the hearts of the Muslims and in the Sharee’ah of Islam.  For, the sanctity of Al-Aqsa mosque is an incontestable fact among the Muslims and the position it occupies does not need any further explanation. The merits of this mosque are established by explicit texts from the Qur’an and the Sunnah and the consensus of the Muslims.

However, we are sure that the reader of this book will excuse us for the facts we are going to reveal, and realize how much we have been deceived by some  people who claim to support Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Land of Israa and to defend the oppressed Palestinian people and their sacred sites.

Therefore, it is very pertinent to rise up in defence of Al-Aqsa Mosque and to call attention to the fact that the Shiite books and their authorized sources, which they wrote with their own hands, indicate that they have no regard or recognition for Al-Aqsa Mosque in its present location and that, according to

them. They also hold that ‘real Al-Aqsa mosque’ is in the Heaven and that majority of people mistakenly believe that it is the mosque that is in Palestine!! We have tried to not leave out those claims without refutations that show their falsity. This is a contribution we can make to reveal the truth so that all  the Muslims will be aware of the enormity of the deception and fraud of those folks.

Through research and exhaustive study, we have affirmed that all those Jews and orientalists who have attempted to cast doubt on the position of the blessed  Al-Aqsa Mosque relied heavily, in support their vicious claims, on Shiite sources. They thereby used these sources as a weapon against foundations of our  Ummah with an aim to shaken the position of Al-Aqsa Mosque in our hearts.

We deem it suitable to point it out here that our goal is to unite the ranks of this Ummah to support our sacred sites and to love those individuals whom  Allah used to win these places for Islam. We also intend to block the way in the face of these Jewish ‘professors’ and orientalists who find in the Shiite  books, a ready tool for weakening the position that Al-Aqsa Mosque occupies in the hearts of the Muslims. As such, those dubious narrations whose goal is to  cast doubt on the sanctity of Al-Aqsa Mosque must be meticulously scrutinized and the sanctity of that mosque must be proved through argument and authentic evidences. Dr. Bilal Philips

Throughout time man has deviated. The people who were alive during the time of the prophets before the Prophet Muhammad (saw) deviated just as those who are alive now deviate. So, as a result deviation is nothing new. However, we may extract benefit from the mistakes of the past. This presentation is meant to inform us of the various types of deviation which have occurred, so their mistakes will not be repeated. This lecture is also a source of historical reference material. “And what is the matter with you, that you fight not in the cause of Allaah…” In the lecture Anwar Al-Awlaki gives the audience a much needed reminder, using the Qur’aan and Hadeeth, to give a solution to the humiliated Ummah. Reminding us that “our honour is in our religion” and so we should return to it, if we wish to see the return of al Islaam. Belief In The Angels: And Its Effect On The Life Of The Ummah

http://islamfuture.files.wordpress.com/2010/06/belief-in-the-angels-and-its-effect-on-the-life-of-the-ummah.jpg?w=450&h=395

Shaykh Saalih ibn Fawzaan Al-Fawzaan
Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 25 | Size: 1 MB

This is a complete translation of a short treatise called, ‘al-Eemaan bil-Malaa’ikah wa Atharuhu fee Hayaat-il- Ummah’. Although this treatise is short in size, it provides many proofs and evidences for the descriptions, duties and  general characterisitics of the angels.

Indeed, Eemaan (Faith) is a great matter, since it is the foundation upon which success in this life and the next rests on. So it is one of the most important levels of the Religion, for when the angel, Jibreel, came to the Prophet (PBUH) in the presence of his Companions, he asked him about Islaam, Eemaan, and Ihsaan, saying: “O Muhammad! Inform me about Islaam.” The Prophet (PBUH) replied: “Islaam is to testify that there is no deity that has the right to be worshipped except Allaah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allaah; to establish the prayer; to give the Zakaat; to fast in Ramadaan; and to perform the Hajj to the House (Ka’bah) if you are able to.”

So he explained Islaam as being the implementation of these five pillars: (!) The two testimonies of Faith; (2) Establishing the Prayer; (3) Giving the Zakaat; (4) Fasting in Ramadaan; (5) Pilgrimage to the Ka’bah. So the angel Jibreel told him: “You have spoken the truth. Now inform me about Eemaan.” The Prophet (PBUH) said: “It is to believe in Allaah, His Angels, His Books, His Messengers, the Last Day, and to believe in Al-Qadar – the good of it and the bad of it.” So he  explained that Eemaan was to believe in these six things: Belief in Allaah, His Angels, His Books, His Messengers, the Last Day and Al-Qadar – the good of it and the bad of it.

Jibreel continued: “Inform me about Ihsaan.” So the Prophet (PBUH) responded: “Ihsaan is to worship Allaah as if you see Him. But if you don’t see Him, then verily, He sees you.” So he (PBUH) clarified that Ihsaan consists of one pillar, which is to worship Allaah as if you see Him. But even though you don’t see Him, verily, He sees you. These are the three levels of the Religion: Islaam, then Eemaan, then Ihsaan. Each one of these levels has its own set of pillars.

A pillar is the part upon which something stands on, so (for example) the pillar of a house refers to the part upon which that house is established. So Eemaan (Faith) rests upon six of these pillars. If one of these pillars is missing, a person is no longer a believer, possessing Faith, since he lacks one of the pillars of Eemaan. Continue reading

The Role Of The Women In Fighting The Enemies

http://islamfuture.files.wordpress.com/2010/06/the-role-of-the-women-in-fighting-the-enemies.jpg?w=450&h=395

Al-Hafith Yusuf Bin Salih Al-‘Uyayri
Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 39 | Size: 1 MB

My honoured sister Indeed for you is an important and great role; and you must rise and fulfill your obligatory role in Islam ’s confrontation of the new Crusade being waged by all the countries of the world against Islam and the Muslims. I will address you in these papers, and I will prolong this address due only to the importance of the topic; [a topic] that is in need of double these papers. So listen, may Allah protect and preserve you.

The Muslim Ummah today is suffering from types of disgrace and humiliation that cannot be enumerated; [disgrace and humiliation] that it was not familiar with in its previous eras, and were never as widespread as they are today. And this disgrace and humiliation is not a result of the smallness of the Islamic Ummah or its poverty – it is counted as the largest Ummah today, just as it is the only Ummah that possesses the riches and elements that its enemies do not possess. And the question that presents itself is: what is the reason for this disgrace and humiliation that the Ummah suffers from today, when it is not in need of money or men?

We say that the reason was pinpointed to us by our Prophet (PBUH), with his statement as reported in Ahmad and Abu Dawud, from Thawban, may Allah be pleased with him, who said: “The Messenger of Allah (PBUH), said, ‘The people will soon summon one another to attack you as those eating summon others to share their food.’ Someone asked, ‘Will that be because of our small numbers at that time?’ He replied, ‘No, you will be numerous at that time, but you will be froth like the froth that is carried down by a torrent of water, and Allah will take the fear of you from the hearts of your enemy and cast Al-Wahn into your hearts.’ Someone asked, ‘O Messenger of Allah, what is Al-Wahn?’ He replied, ‘Love of the world and hatred of death.’” And in another narration from Ahmad, “Your hatred of fighting.” Continue reading

Ruling On The Celebration Of Al-Mawlid – (The Prophet’s [PBUH] Birthday)

http://islamfuture.files.wordpress.com/2010/06/ruling-on-the-celebration-of-al-mawlid.jpg?w=450&h=395

Shaykh Muhammad Salih Al-Munajjid

Many people have asked about the ruling concerning celebrating the birthday of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), standing up for him, sending salaam (greetings) upon him and reading soorahs from the Qur’aan during such celebrations, holding gatherings of dhikr, doing various things to show their joy, reciting qaseedahs and poems, and other things that are done to commemorate “Mawlid” which many people celebrate on the 12th day of Rabee’ al-Awwal each Hijri year.

The answer is that it is not permitted to celebrate the birthday of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), or the birthday of any other person, because this is a matter that has been innovated in the religion. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) did not do this, neither did his successors, the Rightly-Guided Khaleefahs (al-khulafaa’ al-raashidoon), or others among his Companions (may Allaah be pleased with them), or those who followed them exactly (in faith) during the best centuries – these are the people who had the best knowledge of the Sunnah of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), who loved him the most and followed the sharee’ah most perfectly, better than any who came after them. It is proven that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever innovates something in this matter of ours (i.e., Islam), will have it rejected” i.e., it will be thrown back at him. In another hadeeth, he said: “I advise you to adhere to my sunnah and the way of the rightlyguided successors (al-khulafaa’ al-raashidoon) who will come after me, and to cling stubbornly to it. Beware of newly-invented things (in religion), for every newly-invented thing is an innovation and every innovation is a going astray.” These two ahaadeeth contain a very stern warning against coming up with innovations (bid’ah) and acting on them. Allaah says in His clear Book (interpretation of the meaning):

“… And whatsoever the Messenger gives you, take it, and whatsoever he forbids you, abstain from it…” [al-Hashr 59:7]

“… And let those who oppose the Messenger’s commandment beware, lest some fitnah (disbelief, trials, afflictions, etc.) befall them, or a painful torment be inflicted on them.” [al-Noor 24:63]

“Indeed in the Messenger of Allaah you have a good example to follow for him who hopes in (the Meeting with) Allaah and the Last Day and remembers Allaah much.” [al-Ahzaab 33:21]

“And the first to embrace Islam of the muhaajiroon (those who migrated to Madeenah from Makkah) and the Ansaar (the citizens of Madeenah who helped and gave aid to the muhaajiroon), and also those who followed them exactly (in Faith). Allaah is well-pleased with them as they are wellpleased with Him. He has prepared for them Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise), to dwell therein forever. That is the supreme success.” [al-Tawbah 9:100]

“… This day, I have perfected your religion for you, completed My favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion…” [al-Maa’idah 5:3] Continue reading

Causes Behind The Increase And Decrease Of Eemaan (Faith)

The lofty rank and high station eemaan possesses is not something obscure, as it in unquestionably, the most important duty as well as being the most imperative of all obgligations. It is also the greatest and most glorious of them. All the good in the world and the Hereafter is dependant upon the presence of eemaan and on its soundness and integrety. It is within this context, that those certain fold embarked upon and competed with each other in directing their attention to trying to actualise and fulfil eemaan.

Since, the Muslim, to whom Allaah grants success, his concern for his eemaan is greater than any other concern he may have – and this must be so. When this became evident to the Pious Predecessors of this nation, the first and best of this ummah, their concern for their eemaan was very eminent and the attention they gave to it was enormous. They, (may Allaah be pleased and have mercy upon them) used to tend to their eemaan, inspect their actions, and give each other advice. Continue reading

The Two Eids And Their Significance

‘The Arabic word “Eid” refers to something habitual, that returns and is repeated, thus stands  literally for a recurrent event. It also implies a place often visited by people, and the period of time in which a particular act is regularly performed. Likewise, each gathering that assembles regularly comes under the category,  ‘Eid’. Eids or festivals are symbols to be found in every nation, including those that are based on revealed scriptures and those that are idolatrous, as well as others, because celebrating festivals is something that is an instinctive part of human nature. All people like to have special occasions to celebrate, where they can come  together and express their joy and happiness.’ Continue reading

Jihad In The Qur’an And The Sunnah

After the testimony of Oneness of Allaah swt and the Messengership of Muhammad , with firm belief and True Faith, one has to perform the acts of worship as ordained by Islaam. Among the obligatory acts of worship are offering the Salat (prayers), observing the Saum (fasts), paying the Zakat and performing the Hajj (pilgrimage to Makka). Besides these acts of worship, a Muslim is directed to abstain from evil deeds and to perform good deeds, so that he may achieve success in the Hereafter, as well as, in the life of this world. But, as regards the reward and blessing, there is one deed which is very great in comparison to all the acts of worship and all the good deeds-and that is Jihad! Jihad is regarded as the best thing, one can offer voluntarily. It is superior to non-obligatory prayers, fasting, Zakat, Umra and Hajj as mentioned in the Qur’aan and the Ahadith of the Prophet . The benefits of Jihad are of great extent and large in scope, while its effects are far-reaching and wide-spreading as regards Islaam and the Muslims. For an individual Muslim, Jihad includes all acts of worship and all aspects of belief- thus bringing him greatest reward and vast blessings; and for the Muslim nation, Jihad provides all kinds of successes in respect of prosperity and dignity, victory and glory-thus bringing magnificence and splendour. In this article, Sheikh ‘Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Humaid, ex-Chief Justice of Saudi Arabia, has presented Jihad in the light of Qur’aan and Sunna. Never before such an article was seen, describing Jihad in its true colours-so heart evoking and encouraging! May Allaah bless him with all His Blessings for all times. Dr. Muhammad Muhsin Khan, the translator of the Noble Qur’aan and the Sahih Al-Bukhari, has translated this article from Arabic to the English language with all its fervor and feelings. Anwar Al-Awlaki
Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 32 | Size: 1 MB

This book is extremely close to a word-by-word transcription of Imam Anwar al-Awlaki’s lecture. I have chosen to take out or add a few words – and not more than that – to smoothen the flow for the reader. I’ve also added many footnotes along the way to explain words, sentences, backgrounds, and adding daleel to what the speaker is saying. As you know and will find out in greater detail that this subject is one of extreme importance; so the footnotes, I felt, were absolutely necessary to further expand on the words of the speaker.

Anwar Al-Awlaki

Imam Anwar Al-Awlaki was born in New Mexico, USA. He studied the Islamic sciences of Quran, hadith, and fiqh with scholars from Yemen. Imam Anwar served as an Imam in Denver, Colorado; San Diego, Callifornia; and Falls Church, Virginia. He is the author of the audio series on “The Lives of the Prophets”, “The Hereafter”, “The Life and Time of Abu Bakr”, “The Life and Time of Umar” , “The Messenger of Allah” along with other single lectures. Imam Anwar also holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Colorado State University, and a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from San Diego State University. Currently he resides in Yemen. When the Muslim read the Qur’an, he gets the feeling that Allah is talking to him.  For this reason, I am going to  try to explain briefly an ayah (Qur’anic verse) of every Juz’ (section) that talks about the Qur’an. Afterwads, I  ill shed light on some of the sciences of the Qur’an trying to outline what the scholars wrote in large volumes.   By doing this. I am trying to remind the Ummah of its duty towards the Book of Allah.  That is because it is their  duty to understand, interpret, nd sho the miracles that lie in it.  Especially, e are now living in the age of  scientific discoveries and the researches about the scientific miracles in the Qur’an. Child Education In Islam

Abdullah Nasih Ulwan
Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 424 | Size: 25 MB

This book outlines the basic Islamic concepts in child education. The author has tried to coordiante the main ideas, as well as the basics precepts for raising Muslim children in all the different spheres of life. First of all, the importance of correct belief and faith cannot be inculcated in young children except through the teaching and example of their parents; and obviously, the role of the mature and religious mother is foremost. This state of harmony can only be achieved when matrimonial relations are relatively stable. Care is to be taken in providing young children with all the necessary elements in the fields of ethical, physical and psychological education. This cannot be overemphasized. It is established that the common ailments of human societies, personal as well as social, find their remedy in monotheism and justice. Therefore, emphasis on these two moral principles is essential. Muslim children must develop a clear understanding of the concept of the oneness of Allah, mainly through the performance of devotional acts of worship, to Him, and through developing a sense of justice in all personnel and social dealings. The author has briefly outlined these glorious concepts in this book. Through his deep understanding of Islam, and his eminent conviction and personal adherence to its glorious principles, he introduces this book to the readers, with all practical instructions, with the intention of helping to build up a Muslim nation, worthily to uphold the honorable tenets of the Glorious Qur’an and Sunnah. Verily The Victory Of Allah Is Near

http://islamfuture.files.wordpress.com/2010/06/verily-the-victory-of-allah-is-near.jpg?w=500&h=439

Shaykh Abdillah Sulaymān Ibn Nasir Ibn ‘Abdillah Al-‘Ulwan
Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 50 | Size: 1 MB

This small treatise from the noble Shaykh, Imām Sulaymān Ibn Nāsir Al-‘Ulwān, may Allāh free him, is both topical and relevant, concerning the current state of affairs which the Islāmic nation is now facing. And due to this fact, we found it beneficial for the many English speaking Muslims to read and perhaps learn and grasp its meanings. We have added several additional footnotes (with Trans. Note) in order to aid the translation, clarify certain points and lastly, to add additional evidences in order to make the issues that are raised, less ambiguous. We have also added an appendix to the text of the book with a short biographical account of the Shaykh and his background, in order to introduce the author to the English reader. We have summarized this from a larger treatise, which will be referenced in that section, In Shā’ Allāh. And we ask Allāh to accept this small effort from us and help it to benefit the young men and women of the Islāmic nation and be a source of inspiration for them upon the truth.

Many of the Islāmic peoples live in a variety of different countries and an array of cities within a heap of blunders and mischievous conduct with an exposure of their honour and a loss of their rights and property. And (they live among) confusions in their ideologies and in a scarcity and weakness of successes and attempts (to reform) and they are increasingly turning away with an outpouring of misguidance in belief (‘Aqīdah) and methodology (Manhaj) both in the political and economical life, during a time of the spreading of the calls of nationalism and the ideologies of secularism and the currents of atheism and the symbols of mysticism (Sūfiyyah) and idolatry. And this corruption has spread in their nation (Ummah) and many of them are submerged in that which harms him and does not benefit him. And he is unmindful of that which he was created for and his duty and his message in this life.

And in order to destroy this misguidance and these things that are worshipped besides Allāh and these traits of the Days of Ignorance (Jāhiliyyah) that are present everywhere, and these ideas which oppose the Sharī’ah and these institutions that are astray from Legislation of Allāh, it is a must to return to Islām in its established form, including the submission to Allāh with Tawhīd and obedience to Him with devotion while being free from Shirk and its people and ruling with the Legislation of Allāh in His Earth with sincerity towards Him with one’s actions.

So this is the basis of Tawhīd and without it, there is no meaning for life. Allāh, the Most High said:

وَمَا خَلَقۡتُ ٱلۡجِنَّ وَٱلۡإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعۡبُدُونِ

And I (Allāh) created not the Jinns and humans except they should worship Me (Alone). [Ath-Thāriyāt, 56]

In other words, to make Him One. And the Tawhīd is the basis of the religion (Dīn) and its foundation. And it is the reality, which the People of Truth must not take any path in turning away from it, (including) the establishment of its rights and confronting the societies with it. And this is the (proper) institution of the world and it is the Message of the Muslims to all of the nations and peoples. He, the Most High said:

Say: “O people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians): Come to a word that is equal between us and you, that we worship none but Allāh, and that we associate no partners with Him, and that none of us shall take others as lords besides Allāh. Then, if they turn away, then say: “Bear witness that we are Muslims.” [Āl ‘Imrān, 64] Continue reading

Jihad: The Absent Obligation

http://islamfuture.files.wordpress.com/2011/04/jihad-the-absent-obligation.jpg?w=450&h=395

Muhammad ‘Abdus Salam Faraj
Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 107 | Size: 4 MB

Mohammad ‘Abdus Salaam Faraj was born in 1952 in Egypt. He studied electrical engineering at Cairo University. Faraj was excuted by the Egyptian government in April 1982 for his opposition to the government and his Islamist activites. More details of his life and writings are forthcoming. In the meantime, the following quotes summarize the jist of the text in terms of Islamist theory. Most of the book makes use of passages in the Quran and the Sunnah to back up the many assertions made about aggressive Jihad to rid the world of non-Sharia law based political systems. The sample assertions quoted below are by no means comprehesive of Faraj’s argumentation, rather merely illustrative.

“Indeed the glad tidings regarding the establishement of the Islamic State and the return of the Khaliphate (Islamic State) were given by the Messenger of Allah, not to mention that they are part of the Commandments of Allah. Further, it is obligatory upon every Muslim to do his utmost to implement them.”
–Muhammad ‘Abdus Salam Faraj, Jihad: The Absent Obligation, p16

“Westerners have been deceived into believing that these modern values, Women’s Rights, Human Rights, Secularism, the separation of church and state, Democracy and Tolerance, are ideas they arrived at by having fought long and hard intellectually to rid themselves os such ideas as Islam suggests.”
–Muhammad ‘Abdus Salam Faraj, Jihad: The Absent Obligation, p41

“Allah revealed Islam in order that humanity could be governed according to it. Unbelief is darkness and disorder. So the unbelievers, if they are not suppressed, create disorder. That is why the Muslims are responsible for the implementation of Allah’s Law on the planet, that humanity may be governed by it, as opposed to corrupt man-made laws. The Muslims must make all efforts to establish the religion of Allah on the earth.”
–Muhammad ‘Abdus Salam Faraj, Jihad: The Absent Obligation, p43

“The infidels know that when Muslims realize what is truly expected of them in their religion, about fighting the infidels, it will mean the end of their amoral rule. Consequently they fight against Fundamentalism in every sphere and struggle to dislodge Jihad from its proper role in Islam.”
–Muhammad ‘Abdus Salam Faraj, Jihad: The Absent Obligation, p44

“The priority for the Muslims right now, the minimum for their religion is the establishment of an Islamic state, where they can establish and secure the rule of Allah. Once we manage to do so we will have presented an example to the rest of humanity of the rule of Allah’s Law to compare with the travesty of the rule of oppression.”
–Muhammad ‘Abdus Salam Faraj, Jihad: The Absent Obligation, p48

“It is permissible to make a raid on the disbelievers whom the call of Islam has reached without prior warning.”
–Muhammad ‘Abdus Salam Faraj, Jihad: The Absent Obligation, p79 Continue reading
