Allaah granted his Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, qualities of perfection and noble characteristics which distinguished him from all other human beings. Consequently, he, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, combined all the possible virtuous human traits and was the best leading example in treating others with benevolence. He, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, was a sublime example in his interactions with people, old and young, believers and disbelievers, the common people and close Companions. He, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, would support the oppressed, aid the needy, persevere patiently despite the harm he faced from foolish people, face evil with goodness, meet people with a smiling and cheerful face and was unfailingly generous and kind when dealing with people.

As soon as his enemies discovered his extraordinary personality and his exceptional manners, they immediately responded to his call and believed in the message he was preaching. One such person who came to believe in him told him after accepting Islaam: ” I swear by Allaah O Muhammad! There was no one on the face of the earth who was more detested to me than you. However, now your religion (the religion you are conveying) is the dearest religion to me. There was no land more hated by me than your land, but now it is the dearest part of earth to me.” In this book, you will come to know the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, and how he dealt with different types of people, each according to their qualities and particular circumstances. You will know him as a husband, a father, a neighbor, a friend, as a buyer and a seller, a judge, and someone who gave jurisprudential verdicts. Allaah The Almighty sent the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, as a slave and a Messenger and bestowed upon him the best manners and the most beautiful qualities. We have outlined some of the interpersonal interactions of the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, in order to highlight how a person whose manners are in consonance with the teachings of the Qur’aan should be.

By learning about his qualities and the way he, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, interacted with people, one would know how he dealt with people in their homes, in the market and other places in all walks of life. How did this unlettered Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, treat people whether they were relatives or strangers, virtuous or sinners, noble or evil? What benefit can one derive by studying his qualities and manners, that reflect his nobility, generosity and perfect manners? This book answers all these questions and more, and paints a vivid picture of the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, who was sent by his Lord to perfect good manners. Continue reading

A Letter From The Adherents Of The Sunnah Of Our Beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) To The Shia

Muhammad al-Sayed Muhammad

All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the Worlds, Maker of the heavens and earth, Bringer of darknesses and Light. I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship beside Allah, Alone, Who is without partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad, salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam (sws: peace and blessings be upon him), is His slave and messenger. Oh Allah, praise, extol, and bless Prophet Muhammad, the Seal of the Prophets and Messengers. Oh Allah, praise, extol, and bless the pure and righteous members of his household, his noble companions, and those who align themselves with his guidance, follow his way, and walk in his footsteps until the Day of Judgment.

Long ago, there emerged a sect distinguishing between Prophet Muhammad’s (sws) wives and the members of his family. In fact, they attacked them and slandered them, besides declaring them disbelievers, as they also did to the Prophet’s (sws) Companions, in addition to their many other false beliefs, the likes of which no Jew, Christian, or other adherent of false beliefs would deign to accept. This sect of which we speak—the Shia (the Partisans of Ali and those of their kind)—believe that their Scripture (the Holy Quran) which they admit and confess descended upon Prophet Muhammad (sws) through revelation from above has been changed. And this is only the beginning.

The sect to which we refer—the Shia and those like them—are also called the Twelvers.

This brief, concise presentation of my research will—Allah willing—address some of the erroneous beliefs and false claims of this sect, it will clarify why they are incorrect and it will provide an unequivocal refutation of them.

Before the reader begins to read this research, we would ask that he rid himself before Allah Almighty of any fanaticism, partisanship, or nationalism…this before all else. He should not let his reading of this research be that of vilification, fault-finding and discrediting because that is no benefit, and he will take truth to be falsehood without examining it critically or contemplating it.

Therefore, the reader should proceed as a seeker of truth who wishes only to follow it and to propagate it, not to discredit it and lead others away from it.

Let the esteemed reader remember the Bounty of Allah Almighty upon him that He set the truth before his eyes to think upon it and contemplate it. He did not keep it hidden.

We ask Allah (Glorious & Exalted) to give our words effect and to guide through us the hearts of His slaves, so that when they read this, it will really hit their hearts, so that they will respond and benefit from it.

We ask Him (Mighty & Sublime) to grant us acceptance in this world and the Next, to guide us and guide others through us and make us a cause of their guidance, for He (Glorious & Exalted) is the Only One with the Authority over that and the Only One Capable of it. Continue reading

Every individual is born into a religious environment that is not in accordance with his/her choice; a child is raised to follow the religion or ideology of his/her family, society or culture. Even as a new-born, he/she is assigned either the religion of his/her family or the ideology of the state; in some countries, the child’s assigned religion is even recorded on his/her birth certificate. By the time individuals reach their teens, they have usually accepted the beliefs of their parents or their particular society, feeling that they have little choice in the matter.

However, individuals often encounter, or are exposed, to various beliefs and ideologies throughout the course of their lives, leading many to question long-held beliefs, traditions or philosophical ideas. They begin to question the validity of their own beliefs. Seekers of truth often reach a point of confusion, especially upon realising that the believers of every religion, sect, ideology and philosophy claim to profess the one and only truth.

Amongst these beliefs is the one which Christians hold against Muhammad (salla Allâhu ‘alayhi wa sallam – blessings and peace be upon him), the Prophet of Islam, that he is not a true Messenger of God – Allah (subhânahu wa Ta‘âlâ – Glorified and Exalted is He).

Simply and logically, this book sheds light on biblical proofs that Muhammad is a true Prophet of Allah, who was prophesised about by his directly-preceding Prophet Jesus (‘alayhi as-salâm – peace be upon him). Before we proceed with the book, here is a reminder to bear the following four things in mind in one’s quest for the truth:

Firstly, Allah has given us the ability and the intellect to discover the answer to this crucial question, which is also a lifechanging decision: What is the True Religion?

Secondly, Allah, the Most Compassionate, has not left us to go astray without any guidance. Indeed, He sent us prophets with scriptures to show us the right path.

Thirdly, always remember the underlying reason for this search: the ever-lasting life to come depends upon finding the true religion in this life. This should be your ultimate motivation, and a driving force to keep you searching until you are completely satisfied.

Fourthly, one can only determine the true path and make a rational and correct decision if one willingly puts aside, all the emotions and prejudices, which often blind one to reality.

With this short preface, I leave you to peruse the book. Continue reading

The Legacy of the Prophet

Ibn Rajab Al-Hanbali
Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 247 | Size: 8 MB

The spiritual and wordly life of a Muslim is focused on Allah. Success in both entails knowing Allah, loving Him, trusting Him and worshipping Him alone. It requires the Muslim to learn his religion, discipline his soul and refine his conduct. The Muslim must have firm faith that everything that happens to him in this life is good for him, that his Lord would never decree anything that would be detrimental and, as such, he is required to be patient and steadfast in the face of adversity and grateful at times of ease.

In this treatise, the author, ibn Rajab sets out to explain the advice the Prophet (SAW) imparted to ibn Abbas (radiyAllahu’anhuma), ‘Safeguard Allah and He will safeguard you. Safeguard Allah and you will find Him in front of you. Know Allah in times of ease and He will know you in times of hardship. When you ask, ask Allah. When you seek aid, turn to Allah. The Pen has dried (after having written) all that will occur…’

It would not be an exaggeration to say that if a Muslim was to understand this hadith and follow it closely, he would be well on his way to fulfilling the goals highlighted above. It is for this reason that ibn al-Jawzi said, ‘I pondered this hadith and it struck me with awe; I was so astounded that I almost became light headed… The prevailing ignorance of this hadith and the lack of understanding thereof is truly distressing!’.

‘Abdu’l-Qadir al-Jilani said, ‘Every believer should make this hadith a mirror to his heart, his axiom, his shelter and his topic of conversation. He should act by it in all times of motion and stillness so that he can be saved in this world and in the Hereafter.’

Imam ibn Rajab al-Hanbali (d.795H) was a scholar praised extensively for his vast knowledge, ascetism and expertise in the Hanbali school of thought as well as in hadith and its related sciences. His writings, gatherings and sermons were full of blessings and he was loved by all. He has written numerous monographs explaining individual hadiths of which this one, a series of which is currently being published by Daar us-Sunnah Publishers.

The translator has added appendices which comprise further explanations to the hadith by Mulla Ali al-Qari, ibn ‘Allan, and ibn ‘Uthaymin. Continue reading

The Prophet Muhammad (blessings and peace be upon him) had a large and lively household that was ‘ruled’ by his good nature and common sense. His marital life was an example of activity, vitality, and sympathy. He had a pure nature that filled his household with warmth and affection, and he never showed apathy, coldness, or disrespect to any of his wives. Despite his great status, the Prophet (blessings and peace be upon him) never made barriers between himself and his wives. His humbleness and modesty often made them forget themselves with him, as many of the anecdotes in this lovely little book show. The Days of Prophet Muhammad with His Wives has been translated into English here by Nour M. Jaffala. Continue reading

A Day in The Life of Muhammad – A Study in The Prophet’s Daily Programme Here is the city of palm dates and lively hearts; here lives his heart. It is his place, his city, his people. It is the city in which everything came alight when he arrived. Its people and its very nature loved him. Here is Mount Uhud with which he had a relation of mutual love. These narrow alleyways will recognize his footsteps. Here will be his mosque and adjacent to it will be his small rooms. But here in the mosque will also gather a great band of men, eager to follow him and do his bidding. With them he will have a pure relation of mutual love. He is always with them; but his special relation is with God We will look at Prophet Muhammad’s management of his day, hour by hour, to gain an insight into the simplicity of his great life, the spontaneity of his serious life, the perfect balance between his activities and the fulfillment of complementary needs. Saifiur-Rahman Al-Mubarakpuri
Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 504 | Size: 7 MB

A complete authoritative book on the life of Prophet Muhammad (S) by Sheikh Safi-ur-Rahman al-Mubarkpuri. It was honored by the World Muslim League as first prize winner book. Whoever wants to know the whole life style of the Prophet in detail must read this book.

Muhammad (S) is the Messenger of Allah, and those who are with him, are severe against the disbelievers, and merciful among themselves. You see them bowing and falling down prostrate (in prayer), seeking bounty from Allah and (His) Good Pleasure. The mark of them (i.e. of their Faith) is on their faces (fore heads) from the traces of prostration (during prayers). This is their description in the Taurah (Torah). But their description in the Injeel (Gospel) is like a (sown) seed which sends forth its shoot, then makes it strong, and becomes thick and it stands straight on its stem, delighting the sowers, that He may enrage the disbelievers with them. Allah has promised those among them who believe and do righteous good deeds, forgiveness and a mighty reward (Paradise). (Al-Fath: 29)

The Prophet Muhammad (S) said: “The example of guidance and knowledge with which Allah has sent me is like abundant rain falling on the earth. Some of which was fertile soil that absorbed rain-water and brought forth vegetation and grass in abundance. (And) another portion of it was hard and held the rain-water and Allah benefited the people with it and they utilized it for drinking (making their animals drink from it) and to irrigate the land for cultivation. (And) a portion of it was barren which could neither hold the water nor bring forth vegetation (then that land gave no benefits). The first is the example of the person who comprehends Allah’s Religion (Islam) and gets benefit (from the knowledge) which Allah (Azawajal) has revealed through me (the Prophet) and learns and then teaches it to others. The (last example is that of a) person who does not care for it and does not take Allah’s Guidance revealed through me (he is like that barren land).” (Al-Mukarramah) Continue reading
