The Farewell Advice Of The Prophet (PBUH)

Shaykh Husayn al-Awayishah
Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 53 | Size: 1 MB

In recent times, many sincere Muslims have looked to ascertain the situation of our Nation, and what they see were the effects of the Devil (Shaytan), the blackness of wicked deeds, and the blood of many wounds. They saw discord, disagreement, disunity, confusion, and anxiety. They perceived the evil results of not ruling according to Allah’s Book – in the home, the streets, or the marketplace. They saw these results in schools, universities, books, newspapers, and the media; in fact, they even witnessed them in the best places, mosques, where innovations now flourish. And they have also seen the effects of that evil among the ranks of callers to Islam and students of knowledge. Those who hasten to do good deeds are in competition to find a cure for our Nation and woes. The medicines, rather the panaceas, that are proffered are many, yet the situation remains as it is – except in certain quarters, where scattered efforts are made, but not enough to effect an overall change. If we truly want a universal cure to our woes, we must study the advice and farewell guidance given by the Prophet (SAW) to his Companions and to his Nation… Continue reading

Magic & Envy In The Light Of Qur’an And Sunnah

https://islamfuture.files.wordpress.com/2010/06/magic-and-envy-in-the-light-of-qur-an-and-sunnah.jpg

Shaykh Muhammad Mitwalli ash-Sha’rawi
Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 81 | Size: 3 MB

Magic, the temptation of the devil, and envy, the temptation of the ego has always been found in the societies of people. And therefore, naturally, these two threats to decency are being dealt with in the last revelation from Allah to His creation, and the last Messenger, may Allah give peace and blessings to all of them, similarly dealt with these topics in his advice to his contemporaries.

Based on the two prime sources for muslims, Sheikh Sha’rawi guides us through a deeper and more profound understanding of the origin of these two evils, and gives us ways to deal with them.

Shaykh Muhammad Mitwalli ash-Sha’rawi was born in a middle class family in the village of Daqadus in Egypt. Educated at the famous Al Azhar University where scholars such contributed Shaykh Ahmad Yusuf Nagati , Shaykh Ahmad `Imara , Shaykh Ibrahim Hamrush, Saykh Muhammad Mustafa al-Maraghi . Shaykh al-Sha’rawi mentions other non-Azharites whose knowledge he benefited from including Imam Hassan al-Banna who had a unique mythology of lecturing. Shaykh al-Sha’rawi started his Azharite teaching work in Tanta’s institute of religious studies. He was then transferred to equivalent institutes in al-Zaqaziq, Alexandria and King Abd al-Aziz al-Sa’ud university in Makkah He retired from the Azharite career in 1976. In the same year he was appointed by president Sadat as a minister of Waqf. He stayed in that position for two years. In 1980 he started his famous Friday lessons on the Egyptian television. His speaches in Qur’an interpretation (Tafsir) attracted a massive audience that is probably unparalleled by any contemporary Azharite. Continue reading

My First Steps In Islam

AbdulRahman Bin Abdulkarim Al-Sheha

All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds, and may Allah exalt the mention of His Prophet, and render him and his household safe and secure from all derogatory things.

I sincerely congratulate you for the guidance Allah has granted and favored you with. I ask Allah that He keeps us and all Muslims firm upon this great religion until we meet Him, without changing anything from it and not being put through trials.

Indeed a true Muslim feels great joy when someone accepts Islam, for he wishes well for others and wants them to live as he does himself: a life of comfort and delight with spiritual joy and mental stability. This can only result from implementing the teachings of Islam. Allah (SWT) says:

(Whoever does good whether male or female and he is a believer, We will most certainly make him live a happy life, and We will most certainly give them their reward for the best of what they did.) (16:97)

This is because Allah (SWT) clarified the condition of those who do not believe in Allah and what He revealed. Allah (SWT) says:

(And whoever turns away from My Reminder, verily, for him is a life of hardship, and We shall raise him up blind on the Day of Resurrection. He will say, ‘O my Lord! Why have you raised me up blind, while [before] I had sight.’ He [Allah] will say, ‘Like this Our Aayaat [proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.] came to you, but you disregarded them, and so this Day, you will be neglected.) (20:124-126)

A true Muslim wishes that they live happily forever in the Hereafter, whose delights are never-ending. Allah (SWT) says:

(Verily those who believe and do righteous deeds shall have the Gardens of Firdaws (the highest level in Heaven) for their entertainment. * Therein they shall dwell [forever]. No desire will they have for removal there from.) (18:107-108)

The end is inevitable: either eternal happiness or eternal remorse. Whoever dies upon disbelief – and refuge is sought in Allah – he will enter Hellfire for eternity. Allah (SWT) says:

(Verily those who disbelieve from the people of the Book and the polytheists will abide in the Fire of Hell. They are the worst of creatures.)

[Ulum Al Qur’an] An Introduction To The Sciences Of The Qur’an

https://islamfuture.files.wordpress.com/2010/06/an-introduction-to-the-sciences-of-the-qur-an.jpg

Ahmad von Denffer
Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 61 | Size: 1 MB

The Qur’an contains the revelations of Allah, the Creator and Sustainer of the Universe, to mankind. It is the message from God to man and therefore of utmost importance to us. To properly grasp a message, one needs first of all to understand its contents exactly, and for this purpose one must study the Qur’an deeply and in detail. In fact, some people do spend their whole lives studying the Qur’an, reading and reflecting upon it and, as they grow and develop, both physically and spiritually, they discover for themselves new meanings and implications. Secondly, some special knowledge of the circumstances that surround the message is also necessary for fuller understanding of its meaning and implications. Although some part of this special knowledge can be derived from the Qur’an itself, there remain other areas of knowledge that can only be discovered by wider study and research. Muslims have from earliest times, applied themselves not only to the message from Allah the Qur’an but also to its setting and framework, and the preoccupation with these ultimately developed into the ‘sciences’ of or ‘knowledge’ about the Qur’an, known as “ulum al-qur’an’. The contents of this book are an Introduction to the Sciences of Quran.  This concise book deals with traditional Quaranic subjects such as the meaning of revelation, history and transmission of Quaranic text, asbab al-nuzul, exegesis, etc. Ulum al-Qur’an also contains issues of more recent origin, for instance the recording of the Qur’an and orientalists’ views regarding the Quran. The concluding chapter of this literature contains valuable practical advice for reading and studying the Holy Book of Islam. Continue reading
