All praise is for Allaah. We praise Him, seek His aid and ask for His forgiveness. We seek Allaah’s refuge from the evils of ourselves and from our evil actions. Whomsoever Allaah guides then none can misguide him, and whomsoever Allaah misguides then none can guide him. I testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allaah alone, having no partners, and I testify that Muhammad is His Slave and Messenger.

Before you, O Muslim, is a small treatise containing noble Aayaat of the Qur’aan, authentic sayings of the Prophet and selected Sharee’ah rulings.

Despite its small size, it comprises of that which the Muslim should know about death, the admonition it provides us with, and the encouragements and warnings related to it, as well as its effect upon the life of the Muslim.

It contains an abridgement of much of what is reported in the Book of Allaah, the One free and far removed from all defects and the Most High, and what is authentically reported from the Sunnah of Allaah’s Messenger with regard to Islamic regulations about funerals and related matters, whilst explaining the correct view where there is a difference of opinion amongst the scholars. These rulings are quoted without mentioning the evidences, discussion of the topic or quotations of the details from the books of fiqh, in order to make the book easy to read and to avoid making it lengthy.

The aim of this treatise is to make it easy to refer to the fiqh regulations concerning funerals when death occurs, which is something inevitable whether sooner or later, since it is a fact that the books written about this – being excellent but large – are difficult to refer to for the common Muslim, and even for the educated or the student of knowledge, particularly when the misfortune strikes and the hearts are preoccupied!

Finally, I ask Allaah, the Most Great, that He directs all the Muslims to the following of the Book of Allaah, He the One far removed and free from all defects, and the Sunnah of Allaah’s Messenger in all affairs in their lives, indeed He is the Hearing, and the One Who responds. And our final call is that all praise is for Allaah, Lord of the Worlds.

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

Say (O Muhammad SAW): “This is my way; I invite unto Allâh (i.e. to the Oneness of Allâh – Islâmic Monotheism) with sure knowledge, I and whosoever follows me (also must invite others to Allâh i.e to the Oneness of Allâh – Islâmic Monotheism with sure knowledge). And Glorified and Exalted is Allâh (above all that they associate as partners with Him). And I am not of the Mushrikûn (polytheists, pagans, idolaters and disbelievers in the Oneness of Allâh; those who worship others along with Allâh or set up rivals or partners to Allâh).” Soorah Yoosuf (12):108

O you who believe! Let not your properties or your children divert you from the remembrance of Allâh. And whosoever does that, then they are the losers. (9) And spend (in charity) of that with which We have provided you, before death comes to one of you and he says: “My Lord! If only You would give me respite for a little while (i.e. return to the worldly life), then I should give Sadaqah (i.e. Zakât) of my wealth , and be among the righteous [i.e. perform Hajj (pilgrimage to Makkah)] and other good deeds. (10) And Allâh grants respite to none when his appointed time (death) comes. And Allâh is All-Aware of what you do. (11) Soorah al-Munaafiqoon (63): 9-11

The Messenger of Allaah said: “Remember much that which cuts off pleasures:

Death. Since no one remembers it in times of difficulty except that things are made easy for him, nor mentions it at times of ease except that the affairs become constricted for him.” Saheehul-Jaami’us-Sagheer, no.1222 Continue reading

More than 1000 Sunan for Every Day & Night – Based on the Arabic Book ‘Akthar min alf Sunnah fee-al-yawm wa al-laylah’.

Is it not amazing that in the course of a normal day, many of us are capable of practicing more than 1,000 Sunan? Surely, in clinging to the Sunnah is safety and security, as Imaam Maalik said:

“The Sunnah is like the Ark of Noah-whoever embarks on it reaches salvation and whoever refuses is drowned.”

This short booklet contains statements and actions of the Prophet Muhammad (S) that are performed in a typical day – how many of these are part of our daily lives?

This work is the English-language translation of the Arabic booklet, More Than 1,000 Sunan Every Day & Night, complied by Shaykh Khaalid Husaynaan. He is a contemporary student of knowledge of our time who is preoccupied with reviving and following the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (S). Continue reading

Every Religious Innovation Is A Means Of Misguidance

All praise is due to Allah, Whose aid we implore, and Whose forgiveness, guidance, and protection against our own evil and sinful acts we seek. He whom Allah guides aright, none can lead astray; and whom He leads astray, none can guide aright. I testify that there is no true god worthy of being worshipped except Allah alone Who has no partner, and I testify that Muhammad (PBUH) is the slave of Allah, and His Messenger. May Allah exalt his mention and render him and his household, his Companions, and those who follow their way safe from every evil, and grant them security on the Day of Resurrection.

Matters pertaining to Deen must be accepted without the slightest doubt. Allah, the Exalted, says:

(And whatsoever the Messenger (Muhammad PBUH) gives you, take it, and whatsoever he forbids you, abstain (from it) and fear Allah. Verily, Allah is severe in punishment.) (59:7)

One must follow the guidance of the Prophet (PBUH) in these matters, and should not make ‘ijtihaad’ (i.e. to exert his effort to reach a ruling) in an issue that does not allow such. Allah, the Exalted, says:

(Say, “If you (really) love Allah then follow me, Allah will love you, and forgive your sins. And Allah is Oft- Forgiving, Most Merciful.)
(3:31)

One of the nullifiers of Iman (Faith) as stated by the Prophet (PBUH) is not following his guidance. The Prophet (PBUH) said:

‘None of you will believe, until his desires are in accordance with what I have been sent with.’ (Baihaqi)

The Muslim is required to abstain from falsely alleging an issue or matter as being part of the Deen; for this would indeed lead one astray, and eventually lead him to Hell. The Prophet (PBUH) said:

‘Whoever innovates a matter in the Deen which is not from it, it would be rejected.’ (Bukhari #2550)

Many who claim to be Muslims do acts of worship which contradict the teachings of Islam, or they practice certain innovated rites which have no base in the Deen of Allah; they follow their whims and desires. They are condemned by the words of Allah, the Exalted:

(Have you (O Muhammad) seen him who has taken as his ilah (god) his own desire? Would you then be a Wakil (a disposer of his affairs or a watcher) over him?).

A Message To Every Youth

Shaykh Abdullah Azzam
Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 16 | Size: 1 MB

This book was translated from the collection of Shaykh ‘Abdullah ‘Azzam’s transcribed lectures called ‘at-Tarbiyah al-Jihadiyyah wal-Bina’’ (4/141-154). Shaykh Abdullah Azzam. Time Magazine described Shaykh Abdullah Azzam as the man who wasthe ‘ reviver of Jihad in the 20th Century’. Abdullah Yusuf Azzam was born in the village of Ass-ba’ah Al-Hartiyeh, province of Jineen in the occupied sacred land of Palestine in 1941 CE. He was brought up in a humble house where he was taught Islam, and was fed with the love of Allah, His Messenger (saw), those striving in the Way of Allah, the righteous people and the desire for the Hereafter. Sheikh Abdullah Azzam was one of the first Arabs to join the Afghan Jihad against the communist USSRIn 1979, when he learned about the Afghan Jihad, he left his teaching position at King Abdul-Aziz University in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and went to Islamabad, Pakistan, in order to be able to participate in the Jihad. He was a fine example of Islamic manners, in his piety, his devotion to Allah and his modesty in all things. He would never adulate in his relations with others.

Shaykh Azzam always listened to the youth, he was dignified and did not allow fear to have access to his brave heart. He practised continual fasting especially the alternate daily fasting routine of Prophet Dawud (as). He strongly counselled others to practice fasting on Mondays and Thursdays. The Shaykh was a man of uprightness, honesty and virtue, and was never heard to slander others or to talk unpleaasently about an individual Muslim. On 24 November 1989. The enemies of Allah planted three bombs on a road so narrow only a single car could travel on it. It was the road Shaykh Abdullah Azzam would use to drive to the Friday Prayer. That Friday, the Shaykh together with two of his own sons, Ibrahim and Muhammad, and with one of the sons of the late Shaykh Tameem Adnani drove along the road. The car stopped at the position of the first bomb, and the Sheikh alighted to walk the remainder of the way. The enemies, lying in wait, then exploded the bomb. A loud explosion and a great thundering were heard all over the city. People emerged from the mosque, and beheld a terrible scene. Only a small fragment of the car remained. The young son Ibrahim flew 100 metres into the air; the other two youths were thrown a similar distance away, and their remains were scattered among the trees and power lines. As for Shaykh Abdullah Azzam himself, his body was found resting against a wall, totally intact and not at all disfigured, except that some blood was seen issuing from his mouth. Sheikh Abdullah Azzam himself once said, ” Indeed Islamic history is not written except with the blood of the Shuhadaa’, except with the stories of the Shuhadaa’ and except with the examples of the Shuhadaa’. ” May Allah (swt) accept him amongst them. Some Sincere Advice To Every Christian

Dr. Saleh as Saleh

Most people agree to the fact that Allaah’s (God’s) Word cannot be contradictory. What He spoke about Himself must be true. He made Himself known as The Creator, The One, The Originator, and The Provider. He is the First, nothing is before Him; The Last, nothing is after Him; The Most High, nothing is above Him; The Most Near, nothing is beyond His reach, and He encompasses everything while He is above heavens, distinct and separate from His creatures. Great in His Majesty and Honor, Most Merciful, Severe in Punishment, All-Knower, Most Compassionate, All-Wise, and All-Just; Most Perfect in all of His Names and Attributes. He does not beget, nor is He begotten. There is no equal to Him, and there is nothing like unto im, and thus He alone deserves to be worshipped. In essence, the religion as revealed1 to nations before us and to mankind up to the Day of Resurrection, calls for the worship of none but God (Allaah). Any Message from the Perfect God is true, and cannot be contradictory. He entrusted many Prophets and/or Messengers since creation began on earth. Starting with Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and ending with Muhammad, peace be upon them all, the essence of religion was and still is: people must submit to their Creator and worship Him as He revealed to their respective Messengers and/or Prophets.

This is the true Message, and Jesus, peace be upon Him, is one of those great Prophets and Messengers who was sent to the Children of Israel, after Moses, confirming the revelation sent down to Moses and the Gospel that he received from Allaah. This same Message was confirmed by Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, believing in the true Gospel that came to Jesus and propagating the final and most comprehensive revelation to mankind, the Qur’aan. The Qur’aan, being Allaah’s Word, confirms and attests to the true nature of Jesus, and this is not known by many people. This book will introduce the reader to the Qur’aanic texts related to Jesus, peace be upon him, hoping that the truth regarding the personality of Jesus becomes clear. Continue reading

Explanation Of Important Lessons (For Every Muslim)

Muhammad Bin Ali Al-Arfaj
Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 391 | Size: 14 MB

Explanation Of Important Lessons: This book is a short work to explain what every Muslim needs to know about the religion of Islam. It covers many lessons under 18 chapters. List of detailed topics can be found below.

Preface To The First Edition

Indeed, all praise is for Allah, we praise Him, repent to Him, and seek His forgiveness and help. We seek refuge in Allah from the evil of our own selves and our wicked deeds. Whomsoever Allah guides, none can lead astray; and whomsoever Allah leaves astray, none can guide. And I bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped except Allah alone, and He has no partner; and I bear witness that our Prophet Muhammad is His servant and Messenger. May Allah, send peace and blessings upon him, his family and his Companions until the Day of judgment.

Indeed Allah Almighty has protected this religion and raised its status among the nations, sending to the world the final Messenger, Muhammad , and with him the final and most complete religion – as Allah Almighty says:

This day, I have perfected your religion for you, completed My Favor upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion.

Allah Almighty has made the scholars inheritors of the Prophets; they explain to the people their religious duties and they enlighten them, so that their worship of Allah Almighty is based on knowledge and insight. One such scholar, whom the Muslims recently lost, is the noble Shaikh and Imam, ‘Abdul-’Aziz bin ‘Abdullah bin Baz – may Allah Almighty have mercy on him, for he spent his life in knowledge, in teaching, in passing scholarly judgments and rulings. But over and above his knowledge, he was a man who was righteous and pious; he sought little from this world, and his manners were truly noble. From the many works in which the Shaikh served the different branches of Islamic knowledge – ‘Aqidah, Fiqh, Hadith, Da’wah, and so on – is this very important work, Important Lessons For Every Muslim, a book that is much needed at the present time because so many Muslims lack a grasp on the fundamentals of the religion, in terms of belief, worship, and manners.

Seeking reward, seeking to benefit others, and seeking to apply the Hadith:
The best of people is he who benefits others most.

I decided to explain this important book, expanding on the clear concepts and rules mentioned by the Shaikh. In explaining and expanding on the Shaikh’s words, I relied heavily, first upon Allah Almighty, and then upon the many other works of the Shaikh himself.

I chose to explain the copy printed by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Preaching and Guidance; it is the last edition that was printed during the life of the Shaikh – may Allah have mercy upon him. I chose it because it is the best copy in terms of organization and editing; moreover, it has an additional section on the topic of Ihsan.

To further help and encourage the reader – whether he is a student, teacher, caller to Islam, male, or female – I inserted questions for each lesson (at the end of the book), to help the student both understand and digest the material.

I ask Allah Almighty by His Beautiful Names and Most High Attributes to rectify our intentions and to make our children righteous, and to grant us sincerity in speech and in deed; indeed, He is the One upon Whom we rely, and He is Most Capable of answering our prayers. And the last of our supplications is that all praise is due to Allah, the Lord of all that exists. Continue reading

33 Lessons For Every Muslim

33 Lessons For Every Muslim: The testimony of faith denies the attribute of divinity to anyone and anything other than Allah -the Exalted. All those other than Allah, such as the angels, the Prophets, and the rest of Mankind, let alone the idols and the political regimes in the world, are not gods and thus don’t deserve to be worshipped. Therefore, denial in this respect is not denial of the existence of the alleged gods, rather the denial of divinity which is attributed to them. The testimony of faith affirms and restricts divinity to Allah alone. That is, the slave must believe that Allah is the only true God, and accordingly dedicate no act of worship to any, other than Allah. Continue reading

What Every Muslim Must Know About Purification

What Every Muslim Must Know About Purification:  A nice book covering many aspects of wudoo, ghusl, tayammum, and wiping over socks and bandages. Purity (Tahârah) is a beautiful word that is pleasing to the ears, and it is a quality which everyone strives to maintain. From an Islamic perspective, purity is a word which is general in its meaning. It may mean physical cleanness, which is purity (of the body) from impure substances or states of impurity, or it may mean spiritual purity, which is the purity of one’s self from vices, faults, sins, and replacing them with good deeds, whether in speech or deeds. This comprehensive meaning of purity is indicated in the words of Prophet Muhammad, (PBUH). Continue reading
