In the name of Allah, the most Beneficent, the most Merciful

Allaah (Subhanahu wa ta’ala) says:

When you have finished As-Salât (the prayer – congregational), remember Allâh standing, sitting down, and (lying down) on your sides, but when you are free from danger, perform As-Salât (Iqâmat¬as¬ Salât). Verily, As-Salât (the prayer) is enjoined on the believers at fixed hours. [The Noble Qur’an An-Nisa 4: 103]https://futureislam.files.wordpress.com/2012/03/prayer-carpet.jpg?w=309&h=277

The prayer time calculator is highly configurable allowing for multiple calculation methods, along with the possibility of fine tuning individual prayer times. The Gadget can also read a prepared prayer timetable from a CSV file.

In addition, the prayer times are displayed in different views to suite everybody’s taste: the abbreviated docked mode, the more extensive undocked mode (analog and digital clock) and the 5 Day view. The calendar can be switched between Hijri and Gregorian modes.

Problems installing the Gadget?

Some Windows 7 machines do not allow installing Unsigned Gadgets. You can enable this feature yourself by following the steps in this article:

Please Note:

Even though the program gives accurate prayer times, elevation of a particular city and variations in latitude and longitude settings might change the prayer times slightly. Give yourself a 10 to 15 minute grace period at each prayer time based on your city.

It is your responsibility to make sure that any CSV file you download from the Gadget Website is accurate, as I will not look through contributed files. Please report any problems that you detect in such files.

The start of each Hijri month is dependent on moon sighting, which cannot always be predicted correctly based on Astronomy. If the Hijri calendar does not fit the moon sighting in your country, you can adjust it from the Adjust tab.

There are several methods to calculate the Qibla direction. The one used here is the Great Circle Bearing method. Continue reading

Each worship has a quality and manner demonstrated by Allah or by His prophet peace be upon him. So the writer of this message said in the introduction: “This is a brief about the manner of praying of the prophet introduced to each Muslim to try hard to follow him for the saying of the prophet “Pray as you have seen me praying.” narrated by Bukhari. All praise is due to Allah, Whose aid we implore, and Whose forgiveness, guidance and protection against our own evil sinful acts we seek. He Whom Allah guides aright none can lead astray, and whom He leads astray none can guide aright.

I testify that there is no true god worthy of being worshipped except Allah, Who has no partner and I testify that Muhammad (PBUH) is the slave of Allah and His Messenger. May Allah exalt his mention and render him, his household and his Companions safe from all evil.

This is a short, but beneficial treatise on purification and Prayers.

I will state general guidelines concerning each matter and clarify common mistakes that are made during the Wudhu and Prayer.

Salaat (Prayer) is one of the main obligations which Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala) has ordained on His servants. It is the first act of worship decreed on the Muslim Nation (Ummah) by Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala) and was ordained on the night of the Prophet’s (peace be upon him) ascension to the seven heavens. It is the second of the five pillars of Islam after the proclamation of the “Shahada” (the words of witness).

I ask Allah, the Exalted, to bless this work and to make people benefit from it. Ameen Continue reading

Why Do We Pray By Dr. Suhaib Hasan

Why does Man need to Pray?. After a long and hectic day at work, how difficult it is for a tired person to stand on the prayer-mat and concentrate on his prayers to Allah Almighty. Snuggled in a warm and cozy bed, how difficult it is to get up at the call of Mu’adhdhin: “Come to prayer, come to success.” The famous doctor and philosopher Ibn Sina (Avicenna), recalls such a moment in his life. Once cold and icy night, he and his slave were resting in an inn in a remote part of Khurasan. During the night he felt thirsty and shouted out to his slave to get him some water. The salve had no desire to leave his warm bed, so he pretended not to hear Avicenna’s call. But finally after repeated calls he reluctantly got up and went to fetch the water. A little while later, the melodious sound of the Adhan filled the air. Avicenna began to think about the person calling the believers to prayer. My slave Abdullah, he mused, has always respected and admired me. He seizes any opportunity to lavish praise and affection on me but tonight, he preferred his own comfort to my needs. On the other hand, look at this Persian slave of Allah. He left his warm bed to go out in the chilly night, he made ablution in the icy water of the stream, and then he ascended the high minaret of the mosque to glorify He Whom he truly serves.

“I bear witness that there is none to be worshipped except Allah.” “I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.”

Tonight, Avicenna records, I learned the essence of true love; that love which results in complete obedience. The love of Allah demands total and unconditional obedience.

Allah almighty says:

“Say (O Muhammad (pbuh) to mankind): ‘If you (really) love Allah then follow me (i.e. accept Islamic monotheism, follow the Quran and the Sunnah), Allah will love you and forgive you your sins.’ And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.”
(The Noble Qur’an 3:31) Continue reading
