Worldly Difficulties: Reality, Causes And Benefits | Consolation for the Grieving Heart

Worldly difficulties are an inevitable part of life; they range from simple problems to fatal diseases and loss of loved ones. This booklet helps the reader see his arduous affairs in their appropriate perspectives by encouraging complete trust in Allah’s Decisions, and by defining the great principle of al-Qadha wal-Qadar (Predestination) that, ‘Whatever happened to you, could not have missed you.’

This booklet reminds the reader that worldly difficulties are a trial for the believers, while not disregarding the fact that more often afflictions result from one’s sins and disobedience to Allah.

This booklet also teaches how appropriate behavior and correct attitude can change an adversity into a worthwhile opportunity to achieve Allah’s Pleasure through Sabr, Shukr, Ihtisaab and Istirja, whereas impatience, panic and complaining can worsen one’s state of affairs.

Finally, this booklet explains the futility of invoking the Prophets and the dead to remove hardships, and encourages calling upon Allah Alone to ease one’s affairs.

I hope that this booklet will bring solace and comfort to people as they struggle to manage the difficulties of life. I ask Allah to accept this humble effort and all success is from Allah. Continue reading

Thugz Or Mugz: The Reality Of The Gangsta Lifestyle

https://islamfuture.files.wordpress.com/2010/11/thugz-or-mugz-the-reality-of-the-gangsta-lifestyle.jpg

Murtaza Khan

We need to face facts: Muslim involvement in drugs and the gangster lifestyle is increasing at an alarming rate in the West. Muslims are now heavily involved with the planting, harvesting, refinement, smuggling, and distribution of drugs within our communities. Rather than taking the Prophets and Companions as heroes, our youth look up to the drug traffikers and rap artists. In this lecture the speaker addresses some of the common problems that are prevalent in our communities such as drugs, guns and Rap music. One must always remember that being a practicing Muslim is not restricted to praying, fasting and going for Hajj. Rather, Islam is a complete way of life and has injunctions with regards to business, trade, marriage, divorce, inheritance and so on. Hence, one cannot be termed a practicing Muslim if one’s earnings are through unlawful means. Continue reading

Book Of Emaan According To The Classical Works Of Ibn Taymiyah

Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 269 | Size: 16 MB

The source of all evil is the deviation from the truth and its straight path. The goodness of all matters is the following of truth and adherence to its right way. Truth is the fixed state in which Allah has created every creature in a particular way and managed its affair in a certain manner. Allah is Perfect and exempt from any deficiency or error. This book aims to elucidate the pillars of Emaan (basis of belief, faith) and the characteristics of Kufr (disbelief) and its causes.

Written to elucidate the pillars of Eemaan and the characteristic of Kufr and its causes.

To obtain the utmost benefit from this book, the book is divided into three parts.

Part One: The Basis of Eemaan.
Part Two: The Reality of Eemaan.
Part Three: The Invalidation of Eemaan.

This book is the translation of the Book of Eman by Dr. Mohammed Naim Yasin, a renowned Islamic scholar and a professor in the school of Sharia at the University of Jordan,  based on  the classical works of Shaykh-ul-Islam  Ibn Taymiyah

About  Sheikh ul Islam Ibn Taymiyah

Shaykh al-Islam  Taqi  ud-Din Abu’l-Abbas Ahmad Ibn al-Halim ibn Abd al-Salam Ibn Taymiyah al-Hanbali  was born in , 661 AH (1263 AC) in Haran, which is now in Eastern Turkey, near the border of northern Iraq..
His family had long been renowned for its learning , among his teachers, was Shams ud-Din Al-Maqdisi, first Hanbali Chief Justice of Syria following the reform of the judiciary by Baibars. The number of Ibn Taimiyah’s teachers exceeds two hundred. Ibn Taimiyah was barely seventeen, when Qadi Al-Maqdisi authorized him to issue Fatwa (legal verdict). Qadi remembered with pride that it was he who had first permitted an intelligent and learned man like Ibn Taimiyah to give Fatwa. At the same age, he started delivering lectures. When he was thirty, he was offered the office of Chief Justice, but refused, as he could not persuade himself to follow the limitations imposed by the authorities.

Imam Ibn Taimiyah’s education was essentially that of a Hanbali theologian and jurisconsult. But to his knowledge of early and classical Hanbalism, he added not only that of the other schools of jurisprudence but also that of other  literature.
He had an extensive knowledge of Quran, Sunnah, Greek philosophy, Islamic history, and religious books of others, as is evident from the variety of the books he wrote.

‘YOU ARE indeed the best community that has ever been brought forth for [the good of] mankind: you enjoin the doing of what is right and forbid the doing of what is wrong, and you believe in God. Now if the followers of earlier revelation had attained to [this kind of] faith, it would have been for their own good; [but only few] among them are believers, while most of them are iniquitous:’ Al-Imran (The Family of Imran 3:110)  Continue reading

How Similar Is Today To Yesterday

https://islamfuture.files.wordpress.com/2010/06/how-similar-is-today-to-yesterday.jpg

Dr. Raghib As-Sirjani
Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 39 | Size: 1 MB

In the previous lectures, we spoke about the story of the Tattār from the beginning until [the battle of] ‘Ayn Jālūt. We mentioned details from it, and we omitted others. And what we omitted was only due to the lack of time and out of fear of being lengthy. Otherwise, my brothers and sisters, the story truly requires multiples of [the time it was given] so that it may be analyzed with care and studied with precision. But, after this story, we must pause. We did not narrate this story solely for the purpose of chronicling the events of the Earth that have passed. Nor for the sake of speculation and analysis, without concern or pause. We narrated the story, as we mentioned in the beginning of the lectures, as a lesson, to ponder over it, to benefit. We narrated the story to read into the future. Subhān Allāh, how similar is today to yesterday!

How similar is the fall of Baghdād under the feet of the Americans to the fall of Baghdād under the feet of the Tattār. How similar are the Muslims in the time of the Tattār to the Muslims of today. How similar are the rulers of the Muslims in the time of the Tattār to the rulers of the Muslims today. How similar are the Tattār to the Americans. How similar are the allies of the Tattār to the allies of the Americans. A picture of history that has repeated itself in a strange way. And the examples of such a picture are many throughout history, but we will tie this story to our present reality. And if we wanted to speak about other pictures in areas of Islāmic history specifically or areas of human history generally, we will find that many of the pictures can be compared with our present reality now.

And look at the closeness of the first fall of Baghdād to the second fall of Baghdād. The Tattār appeared suddenly on the stage of [world] events, exactly just as the Americans appeared. A nation without a history. It was established through looting and plundering. The Tattār killed millions of innocent people so that they may establish their nation upon the skulls of mankind, and so that their civilization – if it can be called civilization – may drink from the blood of millions, from the blood of the oppressed. The Americans did likewise. The Americans killed hundreds of thousands, rather millions, from the Native Americans, so they could establish a nation for themselves. They plundered the resources of others and established what they also call their civilization, also upon the torn-off limbs and skulls of the original inhabitants. And the days passed, and the Americans became [the dominant force] on the earth, exactly as the Tattār did. And they could never accept another, and implanted oppression and subjugation and violence on the Earth, with their continued claim that they did not come except to spread justice and freedom and security amongst the people. This is what the Tattār did, and this is what the Americans do.

How similar is the Tattār’s table of negotiations to the Americans’ table of negotiations. Covenants with no conscience. Agreements and no trust. Empty words spoken into the air, to pacify the people for a time, and to fool people for a time. The determination to break the covenant is concealed before the entering into the covenant, and the intention is made before the meeting to defame the other side. Continue reading

Characteristics Of The Hypocrites

https://islamfuture.files.wordpress.com/2010/06/characteristics-of-the-hypocrites.jpg

Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah
Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 80 | Size: 4 MB

Hypocrisy is a deep rooted and all-pervading spiritual disease. A person’s heart could be overflowing with it yet be oblivious of it due to its hidden and subtle nature; frequently does it lead a person to think he is acting rightly when in reality he is spreading corruption. It is two types: major and minor; major hypocrisy leads to eternal punishment in the lowest depths of Hell; it is to outwardly one is devoid of such belief, indeed disbelieving in it. He does not believe that Allah spoke to a man amongst men who appointed to be a Messenger: guiding them by His permission and warning of His punishment.

In the Qur’an, Allah has revealed the machinations of the hypocrites; He has unveiled their beliefs, their qualities, and made their goals clear so that the believers can be aware of them. He divided mankind into three groups in the beginning of Surah al-Baqarah: the believer, the disbeliever, and the hypocrite. He mentioned four verses concerning the believers, two verses concerning the disbelievers, and thirteen verses concerning the hypocrites due to their plenitude and the great harm and tribulation they bring to Islam and the Muslims. The harm they cause to Islam is truly severe for they claim to be Muslims, they claim to aid and support Islam, whereas in reality they are its enemies seeking to destroy it from within, covertly spreading their corruption and ignorance such that the unwary thinks that what they are upon is knowledge and right action.

By Allah! How many strongholds of Islam have they destroyed; how many fortresses have they rendered to ruin how many signposts of Islam have they effaced; how many raised flags have they lowered; and how many seeds of doubt have they attempted to sow in order to uproot the religion!

This small treatise deals with characteristics and descriptions of the Hypocrites with two external beneficial appendixes. Continue reading

[Al-Uboodiyah] Being A True Slave Of Allah (SWT)

Ibn Taymiyyah
Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 82 | Size: 1 MB

Part Two of the Towards Islamic Psychology series, (Part 1: Patience and Gratitude), is a planned series of books which, drawing on the Islamic scholarly heritage, will offer practical advice rooted in the Qur’an and Sunnah, to address many psychological woes of our modern age. Shaykh Ibn Taymiyyah defines the concept of worship in Islam and explains that to be a true “slave of Allah” is a status of both virtue and nobility. The title “slave of Allaah” is one of great honor which Allah bestowed upon the best of creation, Muhammad (SAW). Ibn Taymiyyah  highlights the prevalent traps which people fall into, when becoming enslaved by, or allowing their hearts to become attached to worldly objects. The emphasis is on servitude to Allah which is adorned with the true love we hold for Him in our hearts — a matter of central importance for every Muslim.

Highly Recommended for the young blooded who Want to Run before they can Walk and even the Old timers ‘Who sometimes are  so comfortable Walking that they have forgotten that there is sometimes a need to run’ in the Path Towards Allah. Continue reading

The Reality Of Sufism In Light Of The Qur’aan And Sunnah

Shaykh Muhammed ibn Rabee’ al-Madkhalee

You must be aware that there are a number of destructive calls which have been established amongst the ranks of the Muslims and which have shaken and damaged the beliefs held in their hearts. They have polluted the pure Islamic ‘aqeedah, and have grown by stages to reach such a dangerous level that they have led to the splitting of the Muslims into sects and parties, about which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Indeed those who were before you, from the People of the Book, split into seventy-two sects, and this religion will split into seventy-three. Seventy-two in the Fire and one in Paradise, and it is the Jamaa’ah… Then there is no doubt that each one of these sects claims for itself that it is the saved sect, and that it is correct, and that it alone follows the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him). But the way of truth is a single way and it is the one which leads to salvation, and any other way is one of the ways of misguidance which leads to destruction.

So the way of truth is to cling to the Book of Allaah and the Sunnah of Allaah’s Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) as occurs in the hadeeth: I have left amongst you two things with which you will not go astray: The Book of Allaah and my Sunnah, and they will not be separated till they come to me at the Pond.”

A must read for all Muslims. This book explains the origins of the Sufi movement and its various doctrines. Most people associate Sufism with haunting mystical music, breath-taking poetry, and liberal attitudes. This book actually explains the fundamental doctrines and beliefs of the Sufis which the average Muslim is clueless about. Most importantly it helps us understand how some tenets of Sufism might violate the injunction against shirk. Continue reading

Christianity: The Original And The Present Reality

https://islamfuture.files.wordpress.com/2010/06/christianity-the-original-and-the-present-reality.jpg

Muhammad bin Abdullah as-Saheem
Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 28 | Size: 1 MB

Christianity The Original And The Present Reality: The author has given a brief history of original Christianity with reference to context, as well as, the present reality of Christianity in the modern world.

All the praise is due to Allâh, Who has guided us to His straight path. We seek His forgiveness and we seek refuge in Him from the evil of our own selves and our bad deeds. ‘Christianity – the Original and the Present Reality’ is a brief treatise in which the author has attempted to open the Christians’ eyes to the true reality of their erroneous beliefs and to guide them to the Truth.

All the Messengers of Allâh had tried their best, to convey the correct creed to their peoples. Prophet ‘Isa, or Jesus, was also among those upright Messengers who strove hard to guide his people to the Truth, but most of them followed their whims and desires and thus went astray.

Believing in the Oneness of Allâh is a basic fundamental in Islam. This belief establishes the relationship between human beings and their Rubb (Lord). As Muslims we firmly believe that Allâh is our Creator, Sustainer and the true God; only He has the right to be worshipped. There is no partner with Him. He has the free hand in the disposal of all affairs.

I am thankful to Br. Muhammad bin ‘Abdullah As-Saheem who has written this booklet in the Arabic language and given us permission to translate it into English. I pray to Allâh to render this booklet beneficial and be a source of guidance and blessing in both this world and the Hereafter. I also appreciate Darussalam’s staff, who spared no effort to complete this work in a very good manner. General Manager: Abdul Malik Mujahid

Introduction:

All praise and thanks are due to Allâh, Who has not taken any creature as a son, nor does He have any partner in His dominion, nor has He any protector from among the lowly creatures. His Greatness is greater than all else. I bear witness that there is nothing worthy of worship in truth besides Allâh Alone Who is singular and without partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad (PBUH) is His slave, servant and Messenger.

This is a very brief summary in which I intend to clarify the origin of Christianity (Nasraaniyah) and its current reality. It is principally intended for a Christian in order that he may be aware of the roots of his belief. He will perhaps come to understand how Christianity has undergone change and substitution to the point that it has evolved into a man-made composition – this, after having once been a Divine message. I have made it a point to bring forth, within this summary, those evidences that brought forth the truth of the matter from actual texts of the Torah (Tawrah) and the Injeel. This was done to illustrate, to every Christian reader, my intention to point out the truth and to guide towards that which is correct. Thus I write, seeking Allâh’s help. Continue reading
