Believing in the hereafter and the reward and punishment in it is one of the fundamentals of Islam. Allah made signs before it indicating its approach. The prophet made the matter of the hereafter great, whenever he mentioned it his voice became louder and he got angery. Due to the prophet’s repetition of the Hour the companions feared that it might have taken place during their life.

Book Of The End – Great Trials & Tribulations

Like everything, the present universe will also come to an end, and it is a part of our faith to believe in the Last Day. The signs of the Day of Judgment have been foretold by our Prophet (S). Ibn Kathir has collected all the prophesies of the Prophet (S) in his book Al-Bidaayah wan-Nihaayah.

In this volume, we have presented from them the signs of the Hour and the events that are yet to take place, although mentioning very few examples of those prophesies that have already been realized.

O Allah, send prayers and salutations on Muhammad, his family, and his Companions. This is the Book of The End: Great Trials and Tribulations. It deals with what the Prophet informed us about regarding the signs of the Hour and the great events that are to take place before the Day of Judgment, all of which we must have faith in, because the Prophet spoke not from desire, but from revelation.

Abu Moosa Al-Ash’aree related that the Messenger of Allah said, “This nation of mine is one upon which there is mercy; there is no punishment upon it in the Hereafter; its punishment is in this world – with trials, earthquakes, and killings.”

Hitherto in our discussion on the unseen past, we covered in detail events that pertain to the beginning of the world, the stories of the prophets, and the history of peoples until our era. Then we discussed the biography of the Prophet (S) mentioning his characteristics and the proofs of his prophet hood. Then we covered some events that the Prophet prophesized about and that have already taken place before our century. When we gave an account of events that took place after the Prophet’s death, we pointed out those occurrences about which a Hadeeth gave information. Since we already mentioned those prophesies that have already become realized and since it would be too long to repeat them all here, we will suffice by mentioning only a few examples, after which we will return to the main theme of this work. And we seek help from Allah. Continue reading

The Islamic Ruling On The Peace Process

Ali At-Timimi

[And indeed, there is among them a party who alter the Scripture with their tongues so you may think it is from the Scripture, but it is not from the Scripture. And they say, “This is from Allah,” but it is not from Allah. And they speak untruth about Allah while they know.] Ali-Imran 3/78

[And the Jews and the Christians say, “We are the Children of Allah and His beloved.” Say: “Then why does He punish you for your sins?” Rather, you are humans from among (all the others) that He created.] Al-Maa’idah 5/18

[And the Jews say, “The hand of Allah is chained.” Chained are their hands and cursed are they for what they say. Rather, both His hands are extended; He spends however He wills.] Al-Maa’idah 5/64

[And they were covered with humiliation and poverty and returned with anger from Allah (upon them). That was because they (repeatedly) disbelieved in the signs of Allah and killed the Prophets without right. That was because they disobeyed and were (habitually) transgressing.] – Baqarah 2/61. Good Argumentation With The Doubters Of Islam

Sheikh Abdul Majid Subh
Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 178 | Size: 5 MB

In his book, Good Argumentation with the Doubters of Islam from the Qur’an, the Torah, the Gospels and Science, Sheikh `Abdul-Majid Subh replied to the question “Your Book, the Qur’an, contains several contradictions; it is incoherent, and it comprises numerous repetitions. How do you regard it as a miracle then?” as follows:

“Your question is not a novel one. Rather, it is based on the false claim of the preceding orientalists that the Qur’an is the work of Muhammad. By the same token, your question can be traced back to the lifetime of Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) when the Divine Revelation was descending. In this connection, I would like you to reflect on what the Glorious Qur’an itself has recorded of similar questions, saying, “When We substitute one revelation for another, and Allah knows best what He reveals (in stages), they say, thou art but a forger: but most of them understand not. Say, “The Holy Spirit has brought the revelation from thy Lord in truth, in order to strengthen those who believe, and as a guide and glad tidings to Muslims.” We know indeed that they say, it is a man that teaches him. The tongue of him they wickedly point to is notably foreign, while this is Arabic, pure and clear. Those who believe not in the Signs of Allah, Allah will not guide them, and theirs will be a grievous penalty. It is those who believe not in the Signs of Allah, that forge falsehood: it is they who lie.” (An-Nahl: 101–105)

“But the disbelievers say: “Naught is this but a lie which he has forged, and others have helped him at it. In truth it is they who have put forward an iniquity and a falsehood.” And they say: “Tales of the ancients, which he has caused to be written: and they are dictated before him morning and evening.” Say: “The (Qur’an) was sent down by Him Who knows the Mystery (that is) in the heavens and the earth: verily He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” (Al-Furqan: 4–6)

Now, it becomes clear that those who claim that the Qur’an is the work of Muhammad blindly imitate their predecessors.

The Glorious Qur’an, the very words of Allah, has challenged all mankind to produce even the like of its smallest surah (chapter). It contains endless and astonishing miracles that stun the fair-minded scientists and prove its Divine nature.

In his well-known The Bible, the Qur’an and Science, Dr. Maurice Bucaille compares scientific data and statements contained in the Scriptures—the Qur’an and the Bible. The results stunned the author: the Qur’an, most definitely, does not contain a single proposition at variance with the most firmly established modern knowledge. In the conclusion, Dr. Bucaille says, “The comparison of several Biblical and Qur’anic narrations of the same subject shows the existence of fundamental differences between statements in the former, which are scientifically unacceptable, and declarations in the latter, which are in perfect agreement with modern data: this was the case of the Creation and Flood, for example.”

Among the fruits of this study is that the author embraced Islam, for he unswervingly believed in the Divinity of the Glorious Qur’an. In his book, Dr. Bucaille discovered numerous contradictions between the Bible and the scientifically established facts.

However, as to the Christian missionaries’ claim that the Glorious Qur’an is “incoherent”, it is null and void for they have no knowledge of the Arabic stylistic features. In spite of their eloquence and mastering of Arabic, the Arabs, who belied the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), never depicted the Qur’an as incoherent or contradictory to the Arabic stylistic rules.

Finally, as to your claim that the Qur’an contains numerous repetitions, it is groundless for the above-mentioned reason, namely, that you have no profound knowledge of the Arabic stylistic rules. In fact, the Glorious Qur’an has no repetition, but it sometimes states the same event or story in more than one location. Nevertheless, it adds each time more and more pieces of information to the narration.

Furthermore, the Glorious Qur’an always varies its mode of expression so as to suit the context of speech as well as the nature of the addressees. So, it uses diverse modes of expression: examples, briefness, expatiation, threat, promise, clarity, metaphor, and so on.

In fact, variation in the Glorious Qur’an was one of the challenges faced by the eloquent Arabs when they were called—and they assuredly failed—to produce even a single verse similar to any of the Qur’an’s. Continue reading

The Difference Between Advising And Condemning

https://islamfuture.files.wordpress.com/2010/06/the-difference-between-advising-and-condemning.jpg

Ibn Rajab Al-Hanbali
Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 31 | Size: 1 MB

In this classic treatise, Ibn Rajab (rahimahullaah) discusses the differences between Advising and Condemning, which is an extremely important topic since it is very common that the two are confused for one another. For the most part, his talk revolves around the dealings and affairs of the scholars, and how it was from their way to advise and accept the truth from one another. And he shows how condemning was not from their characteristics, but rather from the signs of the evil and wicked people who held hidden goals and objectives.

This book is especially important in these days due to the widescale confusion that exists on this subject amongst the Muslims. So today when we find scholars of the Sunnah refuting weak opinions of other scholars from the past, they are quickly accused of hating those scholars of the past and just condemning them, when in fact they are really advising the ummah and warning the Muslims against following a man in his error. At the same time, we have people who present themselves as defending these scholars of the past (who were criticized) and who seek to “àdvise” the ummah, when in fact they are just trying to defame a scholar and belittle his status. So, we hope that these matters become clear to the reader upon studying this treatise and that he is able to distinguish those who are truly advising from those who are just condemning. The Excellence Of Knowledge

https://islamfuture.files.wordpress.com/2010/06/the-excellence-of-knowledge.jpg

Ibn Rajab Al-Hanbali
Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 90 | Size: 4 MB

These are some brief words about the meaning of knowledge and its classification into that which is beneficial and that which is not; as well as a note regarding the excellence of the knowledge of the Salaf over that of the Khalaf. The way and wisdom of the Salaf, all goodness lies in traversing the way of the Salaf, beneficial Knowledge with regards the ‘Inner Sciences’, the foundation of knowledge and many other branches of the beneficial knowledge. From the signs of beneficial knowledge is that one does not lay claim to having knowledge or become boastful of it. He does not accuse others of ignorance unless they oppose the Sunnah and its people, in which case he speaks against him out of anger form the sake of Allah, not out of personal anger or the desire of gaining ascendancy over him. As for the second category of knowledge which Allah mentioned by way of censure, examples of it can be found in his mention of magic (sihr), astronomy, the Rationalisation of the People of Opinion, debating about the religion. From those sciences that have been innovated in the discussion and analysis of the ‘inner sciences’ dealing with matter such as gnosis and the actions of the heart and their ensuing implications based upon pure opinion, spiritual experience (dhawq), or spiritual realization (kashf). The same applies to delving too deeply into the science of genealogies even though it be something that is needed. The same applies to delving too deeply into the Arabic language and indeed to do so serves to direct one away from learning more important matters and to devote oneself to it prevents one from acquiring much beneficial knowledge. From amongst these sciences are those innovated by the Mu’tazila in their discussion of Qadr and setting up analogies for Allah while a clear prohibition has been mentioned against delving into Qadr. Linked to this is the innovation concocted by the Mu’tazila, and those who traverse their path, in their discussion of the Essence (dhat) of Allah, the Exalted, and His Attributes through the medium of rationalization.
