The author says in his introduction, «The aim of this booklet is to educate new Muslims about laws that pertain to non-Muslims in matters of Aqeedah (creed) and Fiqh (Jurisprudential Law) and the stance one should acquire from them, and how he should interact with non-Muslims in his country, and other related issues. I have written this in response to the request of the brothers from Sulai Da’wah Office in Riyadh who felt it was important to clarify these rulings to new Muslims in a concise and inclusive way.»

Terminology used in this Book

1. Rubb: Some prefer to translate the term ‘Rubb’ into ‘Lord.’ Beside the fact that the latter is a Biblical term referring to the alleged lordship of the slave of Allah, Prophet Jesus, the word ‘lord’ which is limited to ‘master’, ‘chief’, ‘proprietor’, or ‘ruler’, can never convey the conclusive signification of the term ‘Rubb’. Among other signification, the term ‘Rubb’ means, the Creator, the Fashioner, the Provider, the One upon Whom all creatures depend for their means of subsistence, and the One Who gives life and causes death.

2. Deen: The word translated as religion is ‘Deen’, which in Arabic commonly refers to a way of life, which is both private and public. It is an inclusive term meaning: acts of worship, political practice, and a detailed code of conduct, including hygiene or etiquette matters.

3. [PBUH] Sal’lal’laaho a’laihi wa sal’lam. Some translate it as peace be upon him. This translation is incorrect; the correct translation is, may Allah exalt his mention, and render him and his household safe and secure from every derogatory thing.

4. [PBUH] Radi Allahu anhu. This means: ‘with whom Allah is pleased.’ It is said when the Companions name’s are mentioned.

I begin with the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Beneficent

All praise is due to Allah, Rubb of the worlds, and may Allah exalt the mention of his Prophet, Muhammad, and render him and his household and companions safe from every derogatory thing.

The aim of this booklet is to educate new Muslims about laws that pertain to non-Muslims in matters of Aqeedah (creed) and Fiqh (Jurisprudential Law) and the stance one should acquire from them, and how he should interact with non-Muslims in his country, and other related issues.

I have written this in response to the request of the brothers from Sulai Da’wah Office in Riyadh who felt it was important to clarify these rulings to new Muslims in a concise and inclusive way.

Who is a Non-Muslim?

He is the one who disbelieves in the Message of our Prophet Muhammad [PBUH] or does not believe in a pillar of the Deen or something known by necessity therein.

Types of non-Muslims

First Type: A person who is non-Muslim openly and privately. They are known as ‘Obvious Kaafir’. Obvious Kaafirs can be categorized into two categories:

First Category: Original Kaafirs. They are the ones who have not accepted Islam previously. This category includes People of the Book, Majians, and others. They have specific rules which vary according to their religions.

Second Category: Apostates. They are the ones who accepted Islam, and then apostatized; whether they accepted Islam after the age of puberty or were raised as Muslims or their fathers were Muslims and then later, they apostatized.

Second Type: Those who openly show that they are Muslims, when in fact they conceal Kufr (disbelief) in their hearts. They are called hypocrites (munafiq). Legally, they are called: ‘Kaafir’. Continue reading

My Life With The Taliban

Mullah Abdul Salam Zaeef
Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 383 | Size: 3.5 MB

This “freedom” put a proud people in chains
And turned free men into slaves
“Independence” made us weak
And slaughtered us
In the name of kindness
This is democracy by the whip
And the fear of chains
With a whirlwind at its core.

This is the autobiography of Mullah Abdul Salam Zaeef, a senior former member of the Taliban. His memoirs, translated from Pashto, are more than just a personal account of his extraordinary life.

My Life with the Taliban offers a counter-narrative to the standard accounts of Afghanistan since 1979. Zaeef describes growing up in rural poverty in Kandahar province. Both of his parents died at an early age, and the Russian invasion of 1979 forced him to flee to Pakistan. He started fighting the jihad in 1983, during which time he was associated with many major figures in the anti-Soviet resistance, including the current Taliban head Mullah Mohammad Omar.

After the war Zaeef returned to a quiet life in a small village in Kandahar, but chaos soon overwhelmed Afghanistan as factional fighting erupted after the Russians pulled out. Disgusted by the lawlessness that ensued, Zaeef was one among the former mujahedeen who were closely involved in the discussions that led to the emergence of the Taliban, in 1994.

Zaeef then details his Taliban career as civil servant and minister who negotiated with foreign oil companies as well as with Afghanistan’s own resistance leader, Ahmed Shah Massoud. Zaeef was ambassador to Pakistan at the time of the 9/11 attacks, and his account discusses the strange ‘phoney war’ period before the US-led intervention toppled the Taliban.

In early 2002 Zaeef was handed over to American forces in Pakistan, notwithstanding his diplomatic status, and spent four and a half years in prison (including several years in Guantánamo) before being released without having been tried or charged with any offence.

My Life with the Taliban offers a personal and privileged insight into the rural Pashtun village communities that are the Taliban’s bedrock. It helps to explain what drives men like Zaeef to take up arms against the foreigners who are foolish enough to invade his homeland. Continue reading

The Man: A Strange Creature With Diverse Qualities

Abdullah bin Muhammad Al-Mo’taz
Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 48 | Size: 1 MB

In this era, many people are trying to learn everything concerning the material life aiming at making their living conditions better. In this digest, the author has tried to write about the spiritual aspect of life which is, as a matter of fact, more important than any other aspects. Discussion of many topics associated with this, including weakness, disbelief, oppression, being quarrelsome, impatience, ignorance, forgetfulness, irritability, discontent, striving and working hard for worldly desire, transgression and ingratitude, turning away, and more.

“And recite to them the story of him whom We gave Our Ayat, but he threw them away; so Satan followed him up, and he became of those who went astray. And had We willed, We would surely, have elevated him there with, but he clung to the earth and followed his own vain desire. So his parable is the parable of a dog: if you drive him away, he lolls his tongue out, or if you leave him alone, he (still) lolls his tongue out. Such is the parable of the people who reject Our Ayat. So relate the stories, perhaps they may reflect. Evil is the parable of the people who rejected Our Ayat. and used to wrong their own selves.” Continue reading

Interview With Sheikh Tameem Al-Adnani

https://islamfuture.files.wordpress.com/2010/07/interview-with-sheikh-tameem-al-adnani.gif

Sheikh Tameem al Adnani

This interview was conducted in Ohio, US, in 1989 when Sheikh Tameem travelled to America with the intention of losing weight to particpate in the Afghan Jihad against the soviets. In America, he also taught the young Muslims and they began to compete to book him for lectures in the Islamic centres in their localities. It reached a point where he was booked for conference programmes which were to be held every weekend until the middle of October. The conferences sold out, and many people could not obtain tickets, even though they were trying to book months in advance! The unique thing about him is that Sheikh Tameem was not killed in battle, nor did he die in Afghanistan. Rather, he died of a heart attack in Orlando, Florida, USA. On 17 Rabi Al-Awwal 1410AH (18 October 1989). Continue reading

Contemplations With Iceland Volcano

https://islamfuture.files.wordpress.com/2010/06/contemplations-with-iceland-volcano.jpg

Sheikh Muhammed Salih Al-Munajjid
Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 14 | Size: 1 MB

All praises be to Allah, and peace and blessings be upon the best of Messengers (Muhammad), then:

In a small country which is no more than a distant island in the north of the Atlantic Ocean, there is a small volcano erupting under a glacier and blowing waves of dust clouds arousing general terror in all Europe and universal embarrassment for international flights.

The aircrafts stopped, airports were closed, flights were suspended, 113 European air ports closes all international flights, more than 63 thousand air flights are canceled and the airlines companies losses are estimated with 250 million dollar per day. The affected people are more than seven million passengers; all the ways are closed before them, air port terminals became as if they were beds for passengers, air ports started to provide them with beds and covers in addition to the losses of importers and exporters.

Today, Europe became semi isolated from the external world as it faced the biggest failure in aviation transport. Some people considered that the worst in the history of civil aviation!

1- Take admonition, O you with eyes (to see):

Dust clouds from only one volcano strike a whole continent with terror and fear, paralyze its aviation movement, so how will be the matter if many volcanoes erupt?

This matter really is worth contemplation, thinking, consideration and admonition. Muslims have to contemplate these great events, this contemplation should be based on their creed and belief in Allah, their trust that every thing good is endowed from their Lord’s Mercy and Benevolence and everything bad takes place with His Knowledge.

“That is the Decree of the All-Mighty, the All-Knowing.” (Yaseen: 38)

Allah decides and measures every thing with Wisdom. “He cannot be questioned as to what He does, while they will be questioned.” (Al-Anbiyaa’: 23)

Believers have to contemplate everything that could render a sermon to think and consider the Divine Acts. The Muslim consideration should not only be confined to what happens in near places or times, they have to consider any Signs of Allah whether they are near or far from them in time or in place.

2- And We sent not the signs except to warn, and to make them afraid (of destruction): Volcanoes and earthquakes are soldiers of Allah which Allah sends upon His slaves whom He chose as per His Wish, as a warning, threatening or as an affliction , a trial or a punishment.

“And none can know the hosts of your Lord but He.” (Al-Muddathther: 31)

Among the soldiers of Allah is the cinder which is composed of small broken up particles of glass and rocks that threaten aircrafts and hinder their movements. This cinder is described to be killing because inhaling it causes to tear the lung tissues.

Attributing what happened only to the natural phenomena that take place only through universal systems and laws indicates that the people are unaware of the Creator and Disposer of this universe. Who manages the matters like that? And who runs them against whom He wishes as per His Measure and Planning!

“It is He Who shows you the lightning, as a fear (for travellers) and as a hope (for those who wait for rain). And it is He Who brings up (or originates) the clouds, heavy (with water). And Ar-Ra‘d (thunder) glorifies and praises Him, and so do the angels because of His Awe. He sends the thunderbolts, and therewith He strikes whom He wills, yet they (disbelievers) dispute about Allâh. And He is Mighty in strength and Severe in punishment.” (Ar-Ra’d: 12-13)

3- And this (Hell) is nothing else than a (warning) reminder to mankind:

What happened is one of Allah’s Signs which Allah sends to his slaves as a reminder and admonition for the believers and frightening and terrifying those who turn away, the believing hearts take admonition, submit with humility and repent to their lord, while the heedless hearts are only preoccupied with economic losses, following the media and watching the volcano while forgetting the Lord of the volcano:

“They have hearts wherewith they understand not, and they have eyes wherewith they see not, and they have ears wherewith they hear not (the truth). They are like cattle, nay even more astray; those! They are the heedless ones.” (Al-A’raaf: 179)

One of the signs of cruel hearts is that the people hear the terrible events and the sermons which make the mountains submissive yet they continue to be tyrannical and commit their sins and to be confined to following their desires heedless of any threatening or warning. Continue reading

This English translation and commentary is of the Khasaa-il Nabawi Sallallahu ‘Alayhi Wasallam by the late Shaykhul Hadith Maulana Muhammad Zakariyya

“Verily, you (0 Muhammad) are of a very high (noble) character”.

Shaikh uk Hadith Maulana Muhammad Zakariyya Kandhelwi writes the following in the Preface to this Book:

“b. Most of the references in this transalation are derived from the following books: ‘Jam’ul Wasaa-il’ of Mulla ‘Ali Qaari Hanafi; ‘Munaawi’ of Shaykh ‘Abdur-Ra-oof Misri; ‘Mawaahib-Ladunniyyah’ of Shaykh Ebrahim  Bayjuri and ‘Tah-dhibut Tah-dhib’ of Haafiz Ibn Hajar ‘Asqalaani.
c. Since the trasalation is meant for the layman, literal meanings have been given . Word for word transalation has been avoided.
d. In addition to the transalation many things have been added to serve as a commentary. This has been written separately after the actual transalation.
e. At many places in the transalation of the ahaadith additional information has been provided.
f. Where there seems to be contradiction between two hadith, the differences have been briefly explained.
g. The view of the different madhaa-hib have been mentioned briefly at places. The Hanafi mahd-dab has been specially mentioned as the majority of the local population (i.e the inhabitants of India ) adhere to this madh-hab.
h. The proof that substantiate the Hanfis madh-hab have been mentioned briefly where deemed necessary.
i. Where a battle or incident is mentioned in a hadith, the battle or incident is described in the commentary.
j. Where the relation of a hadith to a chapter is not obvious, an explanation has been provided.
k. To keep the subject matter brief, with regard to those incidents that have not been narrated herein, the readers have been referred to their original sources. The name of the kittab is given where they can be found in detail so that those who are interested may easily refer to them.
l. Utmost care has been taken to keep the subject under discussion short and precise, as readers may become bored with lengthy discourses.

Al-Qur’an: Should It Be Read With Understanding?

https://islamfuture.files.wordpress.com/2010/07/al-qur-an-should-it-be-read-with-understanding.gif

Dr. Zakir Naik

The Holy Qur’an is the final revelation of Allah- a proclamation to all of humanity. It is full of wisdom, a warning to the heedless, a solace to the suffering, and a hope to those in despair. In short, The Holy Qur’an is a guidance for all of mankind. Now ask yourself a question: is it possible to derive all these blessings and insights from the Qur’an without actually understanding the meaning or implementing its rulings? Yet this is the position of so many Muslims today. Dr. Zakir Naik explains why it is compulsory for mankind to read the Qur’an with understanding. Continue reading
