The Decisive Criterion Between The Friends Of Allah And The Friends Of Shaytan

Shaykhul-Islām Ibn Taymiyyah (d. 728H)
Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 415 | Size: 23 MB

Indeed the enmity between man and Shaytan is old, commencing from the time that Adam (alayhi as-salam) was created – from the time that he was ordered to prostrate to him. Shaytan refused, became arrogant and hence disobeyed His Lord. His arrogance and pride led him to commit a whole host of sins, it made him expend every effort in misleading the children of Adam and made him beautify and embellish sins such that they accepted them and eagerly committed them. Due to this, Allah, the Exalted, revealed the books, sent the messengers and enjoined his servants to various injunctions and admonitions in order to secure them from the evil of Shaytan. In the light of his advice, profound injunctions and severe warnings, mankind became separated into two groups: a group who were guided and a group who deserved to be misguided. The group who were guided are the inhabitants of Paradise and the group who were misguided are the denizens of the Fire. The inhabitants of Paradise are the Awliya of the Most Merciful and the denizens of the Fire are the awliya of Shaytan.

Whoever takes Shaytan as an ally instead of Allah has certainly sustained a clear loss. [An-Nisa] (4): 119]

Presented to the reader is the book [al-Furqan bayna Awliya ar-Rahman wa awliya ash-Shaytan] at a time in which Shaytan has overcome the majority of mankind and knowledge of the differences between the Awliya] of the Most Merciful and the awliya of Shaytan is seldom found.’ In it, the author explained, in detail, the most important differences between the two categories of awliya, tackling the subject from various different angles and thoroughly refuting those who have gone astray in this matter. he discussed the issue of miracles and furnished the principles he laid out with examples of miracles performed by both groups of the awliya. Furthermore, he clarified some of the most important aspects of the muslim belief, in all of this depending entirely upon the book, Sunnah and understanding of the Salaf, may Allah have mercy upon him and reward him well.

Shaykhu’l Islam Ibn Taymiyyah (d. 728H) was a leading Muslim scholar in the history of Islam and a Mujtahid in his own right. His breath of learning and depth of understanding was accepted by all of his peers and many of his biographers stated that he clearly suppressed the vast majority, if not all of the scholars of his time. He was a prolific writer and skilled orator. He was deeply religious and unwavering in his adherence to Islam and the Sunnah and repudiating all those that opposed it. Continue reading

The victory of Qadisiyyah heralded the downfall of the Sasanian Dynasty, paved the way for the conquest of Iraq and quickened Islamic expansion into Persia (Iran) and beyond. The Iranians had 240,000 troops, but the Muslims with about 30,000 soldiers still drove the Iranian Empire, one of the superpowers of the day, into the ground. At Al-Qadisiyyah, the Muslims were able to break the Persian might, dealing them a blow from which they would never recover. The Battle of Al-Qadisiyyah is therefore one of the most decisive battles in the history of humanity. Allaah granted his Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, qualities of perfection and noble characteristics which distinguished him from all other human beings. Consequently, he, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, combined all the possible virtuous human traits and was the best leading example in treating others with benevolence. He, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, was a sublime example in his interactions with people, old and young, believers and disbelievers, the common people and close Companions. He, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, would support the oppressed, aid the needy, persevere patiently despite the harm he faced from foolish people, face evil with goodness, meet people with a smiling and cheerful face and was unfailingly generous and kind when dealing with people.

As soon as his enemies discovered his extraordinary personality and his exceptional manners, they immediately responded to his call and believed in the message he was preaching. One such person who came to believe in him told him after accepting Islaam: ” I swear by Allaah O Muhammad! There was no one on the face of the earth who was more detested to me than you. However, now your religion (the religion you are conveying) is the dearest religion to me. There was no land more hated by me than your land, but now it is the dearest part of earth to me.” In this book, you will come to know the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, and how he dealt with different types of people, each according to their qualities and particular circumstances. You will know him as a husband, a father, a neighbor, a friend, as a buyer and a seller, a judge, and someone who gave jurisprudential verdicts. Allaah The Almighty sent the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, as a slave and a Messenger and bestowed upon him the best manners and the most beautiful qualities. We have outlined some of the interpersonal interactions of the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, in order to highlight how a person whose manners are in consonance with the teachings of the Qur’aan should be.

By learning about his qualities and the way he, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, interacted with people, one would know how he dealt with people in their homes, in the market and other places in all walks of life. How did this unlettered Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, treat people whether they were relatives or strangers, virtuous or sinners, noble or evil? What benefit can one derive by studying his qualities and manners, that reflect his nobility, generosity and perfect manners? This book answers all these questions and more, and paints a vivid picture of the Prophet, sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, who was sent by his Lord to perfect good manners. Continue reading

An excellent book discussing the foundation of an Islamic household. The author addresses issues that are relevant to the majority of the Muslims, such as the importance of choosing a righteous spouse, disciplining your wife and children, making your home a place for the remembrance of Allah, spreading kindness in the home, teaching good manners, discussing some of the evils present in the home, learning the Islamic rulings with regard to the houses, creating an atmosphere of faith in the home, resisting bad manners in the home, choosing a good location and design of home, how to discipline the children which may by more effective than physical punishment and the books that we should read and much more.

Putting things right in the home is a great trust and huge responsibility which evey Muslim man and woman should undertake as Allah commands; they should run the affairs of their homes in accordance with the rules set out by Allah. One of the ways of achieving this is by ridding the ome of evil things, The author highlights some evil things that actually happen in some homes and that have become tools of destruction for the nests in which the future generations of the Muslim ummah are being raised. A Letter From The Adherents Of The Sunnah Of Our Beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) To The Shia

All praise is due to Allah, Lord of the Worlds, Maker of the heavens and earth, Bringer of darknesses and Light. I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship beside Allah, Alone, Who is without partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad, salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam (sws: peace and blessings be upon him), is His slave and messenger. Oh Allah, praise, extol, and bless Prophet Muhammad, the Seal of the Prophets and Messengers. Oh Allah, praise, extol, and bless the pure and righteous members of his household, his noble companions, and those who align themselves with his guidance, follow his way, and walk in his footsteps until the Day of Judgment.

Long ago, there emerged a sect distinguishing between Prophet Muhammad’s (sws) wives and the members of his family. In fact, they attacked them and slandered them, besides declaring them disbelievers, as they also did to the Prophet’s (sws) Companions, in addition to their many other false beliefs, the likes of which no Jew, Christian, or other adherent of false beliefs would deign to accept. This sect of which we speak—the Shia (the Partisans of Ali and those of their kind)—believe that their Scripture (the Holy Quran) which they admit and confess descended upon Prophet Muhammad (sws) through revelation from above has been changed. And this is only the beginning.

The sect to which we refer—the Shia and those like them—are also called the Twelvers.

This brief, concise presentation of my research will—Allah willing—address some of the erroneous beliefs and false claims of this sect, it will clarify why they are incorrect and it will provide an unequivocal refutation of them.

Before the reader begins to read this research, we would ask that he rid himself before Allah Almighty of any fanaticism, partisanship, or nationalism…this before all else. He should not let his reading of this research be that of vilification, fault-finding and discrediting because that is no benefit, and he will take truth to be falsehood without examining it critically or contemplating it.

Therefore, the reader should proceed as a seeker of truth who wishes only to follow it and to propagate it, not to discredit it and lead others away from it.

Let the esteemed reader remember the Bounty of Allah Almighty upon him that He set the truth before his eyes to think upon it and contemplate it. He did not keep it hidden.

We ask Allah (Glorious & Exalted) to give our words effect and to guide through us the hearts of His slaves, so that when they read this, it will really hit their hearts, so that they will respond and benefit from it.

We ask Him (Mighty & Sublime) to grant us acceptance in this world and the Next, to guide us and guide others through us and make us a cause of their guidance, for He (Glorious & Exalted) is the Only One with the Authority over that and the Only One Capable of it. Continue reading

The Purpose Of Creation

Every individual is born into a religious environment that is not necessarily in accordance with his or her choice; children are raised to follow the religion or ideology of their family, society or culture. Even as new-borns, they are assigned either the religion of their family or the ideology of the state; in some countries, the child’s assigned religion is even recorded on the birth certificate. By the time individuals reach their teens, they have usually accepted the beliefs of their parents or their particular society, feeling that they have little choice in the matter.

However, individuals often encounter, or are exposed, to various beliefs and ideologies throughout the course of their lives, leading many to question long-held beliefs, traditions or philosophical ideas. They begin to question the validity of their own beliefs. Seekers of truth often reach a point of confusion, especially upon realizing that the believers of every religion, sect, ideology and philosophy claim to profess the one and only truth.

There are only three possibilities: either everyone is correct or everyone is incorrect; or, only one is correct and the rest are incorrect. It is impossible for all of them to be upon the true religion as the fundamentals of all religions are different. On the other hand, to claim that they are all incorrect is to deny that Allah (Subhânahu wa Ta‘âlâ – Glorified and Exalted is He) revealed His will to humankind. This proposition will seem absurd to those who believe in a Wise Creator. After all, why would Allah create human beings and not reveal a way to the truth? So, which religion is the right one and how can the seeker of truth come to know it? This is the main subject of this work.

When beginning the search for the true religion, one should keep the following four things in mind:

Firstly, Allah has given us the ability and the intellect to discover the answer to this crucial question, which is also a lifechanging decision: What is the true religion?

Secondly, Allah, the Most Compassionate, has not left us to go astray without any guidance. Indeed, He sent us prophets with scriptures to show us the right path.

Thirdly, always remember the underlying reason for this search: the ever-lasting life to come depends upon finding the true religion in this life. This should be your ultimate motivation, and a driving force to keep you searching until you are completely satisfied.2

Fourthly, one can only determine the true path and make a rational and correct decision if one willingly puts aside all the emotions and prejudices, which often blind one to reality.

2 The Bible, in its present form, confirms that seeking the truth is the main cause for salvation. In John 8:32, it has been stated, “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” Muslims believe that the existing form of the Bible contains elements of the original true message, although it has been altered significantly.

Wise individuals know that they exist for a purpose and a final destination, whether or not they are aware of the exact nature of that destination. Wise individuals also understand that if they do not know where they are going, they will never strive to reach there. This little book has shed some light on the following:

# Why were human beings created?
# What is their final destination?
# How can they reach that destination ‘safely’?

With this short preface, I leave you to peruse the book. Continue reading

The Amazing Prophecies Of Muhammad (PBUH) In The Bible

They begin to question the validity of their own beliefs. Seekers of truth often reach a point of confusion, especially upon realising that the believers of every religion, sect, ideology and philosophy claim to profess the one and only truth.

Amongst these beliefs is the one which Christians hold against Muhammad (salla Allâhu ‘alayhi wa sallam – blessings and peace be upon him), the Prophet of Islam, that he is not a true Messenger of God – Allah (subhânahu wa Ta‘âlâ – Glorified and Exalted is He).

Simply and logically, this book sheds light on biblical proofs that Muhammad is a true Prophet of Allah, who was prophesised about by his directly-preceding Prophet Jesus (‘alayhi as-salâm – peace be upon him). Before we proceed with the book, here is a reminder to bear the following four things in mind in one’s quest for the truth:

Firstly, Allah has given us the ability and the intellect to discover the answer to this crucial question, which is also a lifechanging decision: What is the True Religion?

Eleven Facts About Jesus (PBUH) And His Mother (Mary) In The Biblical & Islamic Teachings

Allah (Subhânahu wa Ta‘âlâ – Glorified and Exalted is He) is the Most-Kind, the Most Compassionate. He did not leave people to go astray. Indeed, He sent prophets to tell people who had created them, why they had been created, what is His right on them [being their Lord], what are the rights of human beings towards Him if they obey Him, what are His attributes, how to worship Him, what is the fact behind death, and what is going to happen after death: paradise for those who follow Hismessengers and hell-fire for those who don’t.

Allah, the most-kind and Wise, did not give a chance to the followers of Jesus (‘alayhi as-salâm – peace be upon him) to forever suffer, split and conflict between themselves on the reality of his personality. Indeed, He sent Prophet Muhammad (salla Allâhu ‘alayhi wa sallam – blessings and peace be upon him) to unveil the fact and solve what people perceived as a mystery or a point of great division.

This humble work sheds light on the personality of a great prophet, Prophet Jesus, son of Mary (peace be upon them both). It details his characteristics, and clarifies all the doubts about his personality by clearly referring the reader to specific references in the Bible and other Islamic sources. These have been supported with theoretical and logical proofs which ultimately set Prophet Jesus, in the mind of the fair reader, at the correct level without committing any extremes or deviation.

Before I leave you with the book, I would like to thank all those respected scholars, who gave me a chance to learn and quote extensively from their books, especially Dr. Jamal Badawi, Dr. Bilal Philips, Dr. Ahmed Deedat, Dr. Naji Arfaj and Brother Muhammad bin Abdullah Caraballo. My small contribution is mainly a compilation of passages from their wonderful works.

With this short preface, I leave you to peruse the book. Continue reading
